taking care of my dd or others?

I was offered an assistant postion at a montessori school. I would LOVE the opportunity and teh fact that it's part time.

The problem is that dd will not quite be 2 years old, and she wouldnt' start preschool until 2.5 at a minimum. I really can't justify sending her to daycare to care for other people's kids, but I'm afraid that if I dont' take it, the opportunity won't be there when she is in school.

I am pretty sure I will turn it down, but i wanted to hear some feedback from you mamas :D

A friend of mine is doing exactly that! She works as a teaching asst at a local Montessori school that her 4 year old is attending and her 1 year old is at home with a babysitter. She is not earning any money, but she is pursuing her teaching interest and taking it one day at a time.

If it is part time and your child would only be in child care away from you for a few months, you may want to consider it...

Go with your gut instinct and let me know what you decide to do.
