I definately wasn't planning on getting pregnant but we were definately not being safe at all either. We were planning a third so we were pretty flip about the b/c.

This was our second cycle TTC. Last cycle I had a chemical pregnancy. Apparently, I'm quite fertile! :lol Last cycle we had decided to start trying on the perfect fertile day... were going to wait until May, but then DH mentioned that it would put me due during a hockey tournament time, and he's the director of our local university's pep band that plays at hockey games, and the conference tournament is the big trip for the year, so he really shouldn't miss that. I can't believe I plan my children around hockey season. :o

We'd been ttc this one for 6 months when I found out I was pregnant, but we were on a ttc break in December. I wasn't charting so it was a bit of a suprise, just because we weren't actively trying as we had been the months before.

I haven't voted yet, since I'm not sure what to vote... we're quiverfull, don't use b/c... we don't try to avoid and don't try to conceive. So it wasn't a surprise that we *could* get pg some time, but I do exclusively nurse for the first year... my kids are 2-3 years apart so far... I've had my cycles back since July... so not a surprise, but we weren't actively ttc. Though I suppose not using b/c could count as ttc, but I usually picture charting to find fertile days and making sure you use them as ttc. If that makes sense.

No surprise at all, I don't have regular cycles (as in every two months or so), so we helped it along with chlomid (again). Boy, that stuff really screws me up emotionally and I am glad it happened in the second cycle again... :wink

only a surprise in how quickly I was able to get preggie once DD was down to nursing only once a day! (The first cycle!)

But we've been TTC for over a year. :)

well, we were trying but DD was only 10 months old and still nursing so I kinda thought it was going to take a little longer...so that part was surprising! We got pg the 2nd try.

However, you're hard pressed to convince anyone that it's a planned pregnancy when you're having little ones 18 months apart. I was just complaining to DH tonight that all of our family keeps referring to this one as a surprise...I don't care either way, but it wasn't, and we told them that. I guess they just don't believe we're that nuts. :p

Total surprise! I wasn't sure if I was ready yet. Guess I am now, lol. Surprisingly, dh said that he was thinking we should try.

Was hoping to wait a few more months, but all is great. Baby #2 on the way hopefully soon.

This baby is our first quiverfull baby so it was both a surprise and planned, I guess. I didn't expect to get pg the very first month, but I did.:)

We had been TTC in the months prior to conceiving this little sprout, but then we gave up and weren't careful about timing, charting or anything and I got pregnant! So I checked the middle one although I'm more TTC and surprise! :lol

We had been TTC for 8 months before I got pregnant for this one :) But it was still a surprise because I always give up around 5 months! LOL (My son took 2 years...)

We'd been TTC for the past year so not a surprise in that sense, but I didn't think that month was it.:lol

I was "charting", in that I had an account with MyMonthlyCycles.com and I visited it every once in a while. I tried to log sex all the time. One day I went to log sex after not visiting the site for a while, and I saw that it fell right on a fertile day. :) I didn't even wait a full two weeks before taking a test, and it was a blaring positive!

We lost a baby in October that would have been born in May. We tried to conceive the first month I had a "normal cycle" which was December but I don't think I O-ed. So we tried again the next month and yay!! we're pregnant again. I really like the idea of a May baby, which is why we got pregnany in August last time, because my Dh is a college prof and he's done in May but but a) I didn't want to wait that long to try again and b) I didn't want want it to feel like a weird deja vue.

We were going to start trying in mid-March. :) I'd been charting to avoid for almost two years, so I knew we were being a tiny bit risky on a couple of incidences in January, but I guess this little lentil took those odds and ran with them! :lol

This pregnancy was a complete surprise as was the last one...

Well, I don't really know how to vote, b/c we were TTCing for almost two years when I got pregnant (and doing all sorts of things to help get us pregnant, such as using Pre-seed and following a regimin my accupuncturist prescribed), however, I was SHOCKED as all get out to get pregnant after so long! So, it was a beautiful, beautiful suprise... even tho we planned it :D

This is the first time I've had a baby that wasn't a complete and total surprise! We really wanted to wait another year before TTC, but wanted a September baby, so in December we didn't prevent/didn't try. Guess what? We're having a September baby! :love

Mostly a surprise, but I kind of had an idea.

We are quiverful so we do not use birth control. We do not try to concieve, we do not prevent it. So I was surprised but not floored :D

We are super excited!

Congrats to all of the mamas whom are expecting :carrot May your pregnancies journey be a blessed one :love

One of my pet peeves is women who don't use birth control then describe their pregancies as a surprise. I think it's bad for women in the workforce and a bad example for young women to not stand up and say you CHOOSE whether or not you have a child. Anytime you don't use BC you're TTC. So I'd never call my pregnancy a "surprise"... HOWEVER...

...I'd had my IUD out for a year, and we were half-heartedly charting (just calendar method) to TTC during that time-period. Dh and I had the flu one month, and based on that calendar method, we missed my fertile period, and yep, that was the month I got pregnant! :shrug

Guess that just goes to prove the old saying...

What do you call women who use the rythym method?
Mothers! :lol
