I went to the Dr. on Tuesday of last week they said that I had very low fluid around the baby. Which meant that there wasa possiblity that there was no kidneys are liver . So the sceduled me to see a "Hight Risk Pregnancy Dr." that Friday. I went and they said that due to me having very low fluid they cannot see if the baby has his kidneys or he does have them and them not function right. :( I have been saden with all this cause I do not want to terminate my pregnancy and I do not want to lose my babyboy. I have another appt in 3 weeks to see if anything has changed. Does anyone know what I can do? I need all the help and prayers in the world I am not giving up on my Babyboy.
Thanks,
Babyboy601:(

Did they check to see if you were leaking? I would go on modified bedrest & drink lots of fluid~ No baths, no sex, no anything down there until the next visit~ Maybe you have/had an undetected leak & that is why you don't have fluid~
Just a though~ Sending you sticky healthy baby vibes!
Warmly,
Melissa

I went through this with my son 2 years ago :( .
Did they tell you how low your fluid is? There are different degrees of low. Lots of rest and drinking lots of water could help.
You are in my thoughts :hug

They said that this looked like a problem with my DD, too. They said they couldn't tell if she had a stomach, her heart looked like it was turned on the wrong axis, that she was too small for LMP age, blahblahblah... TONS of issues "revealed" in the u/s. I was very concerned and upset, of course.
Well, I wouldn't even have considered an abortion even if they had recommended, but I went to a second care provider, she reviewed THE SAME u/s and found NOTHING wrong. Of course, your situation could be diff, but I had a u/s at the office, was sent to Maternal Fetal Medicine (for high risk), then went to another provider. So, it sounds really similar! Well, my DD was born almost exactly 40 weeks gestation, she weighed 8lbs 4oz, and she is beautiful and super smart and doesn't have any heart issues!
Those u/s are only SO reliable. And really, in my own way of thinking, were we really meant to check on things that are so variable? By this I mean, a person develops skills and abilities at a WIDE range of normal times (look at the growth charts and development charts for babes and toddlers)... WHY WOULD GROWTH IN THE UTEROUS BE THAT MUCH DIFFERENT?? This is what I think, though I haven't found the research to back me up. But because I believe this SOOO adamantly, we will NOT have any u/s in this or any subsequent pregnancies.
Because I will not terminate, the u/s can only really cause us concern. And WHAT is it that people (even Docs) say preggie women should avoid?? AHHHH, YES... STRESS!!!! ARGH! So contradictory! But, of course, this is all Gospel Of Tori! :) My humble opinion. :)

Oh three weeks will be an eternity for you to wait! That is so upsetting. I agree with getting a second/third opinion. There is no reason to go through this mental anguish for three weeks, and if all is ok the stress is terrible for you. I will put you in my prayers.

First I'll echo everything everyone else said regarding inaccurate tests, scare tactics, etc.
IF something is wrong:
I applaud you for not wanting to terminate should something be wrong. While I am pro-choice, I did not choose to undergo any testing my last pregnancy when I knew something was wrong. I found my peace to enjoy the time I had with my baby boy while he was kicking and peaceful within me and it turned into one of the most amazing and beautiful experiences I've ever had in my life.
Four and a half months ago my son was born without kidneys, which is 100% fatal. He died shortly after his birth... but those 8 months in perfect peace that I had with him I would NEVER have changed. They were wonderful, and it taught me a lot of trust in myself.
I was having a UP at the time, and having another one now.

I had low fluids my first ultrasound.
I had 3 more ultrasounds after that one and now the fluids seem to be at a normal level.
I drank more water in between the ultrasounds.
I will keep good thoughts for you and the baby.
