I've never had this this early on before. Later in pregnancy, yeah, but not now. I know hormones are loosening everything up, but this is annoying.
Anyone had this before? Does it go away or am in this for the long haul?

I've got a pretty bad lower back ache - but I have back problems anyway... I don't know if it's necessarily pregnancy related or just "normal" for me.

Sorry I can't be of more help!

I had lower back problems before my pregnancy but it's been months since a flare up. The same pains now are coming back, and I'm contemplating going to a gentle osteopath to work on it. My tailbone is actually somewhat out of place and has some chronic swelling, and my homeopath the other day suggested hopefully that maybe labor and delivery will push it back into place.

*raises hand*

I'm feeling things loosen up back there... my back "clunks" when I walk after sitting for a while. :P I find I just want to curl up on the couch with a hot water bottle back there. It's really not painful -- not at all like sciatic nerve stuff I've dealt with before -- just annoying.

I went for some chiropractic work last pregnancy... I'm hoping to take a look at the benefits for dh's new job soon, crossing my fingers that chiropractic is on the list, because OHIP has stopped covering part of it since the last time I went. :( It really helped with the sciatic nerve pain.

Mine is killing me, but I don't think my chiro will see me till 12 wks! Everything hurt last week, it felt like I had worked out really hard the night before and I hadn't. The DR told me each pgcy would get harder...

I was just reading about UTI symptoms (because someone suggested that I might have one, but I don't think I do... we'll find out Tuesday at my OB appt anyway when they drain me of blood and urine:))... and it says lower backpain is a symptom of kidney infection. Probably not your problem, but thought I'd mention it just in case. :)

Thanks for your responses--I'm sorry you're all having this.

Brisen, No, it's nothing like sciatica! I hope you can get to the chiro--mine helped immensely with sciatica after my last pregnancy.

I don't think this is a kidney infection, although, I've never had one...mine comes and goes and isn't intense, just annoying.

It's funny how different each pregnancy can be!

Joan, I have been having back trouble starting very early w/this pg, too. And yeah, it's annoying. I'm even already having the pubic symphosis (??) pain. For that, though, I know a handy little chiro trick that I can do here at home w/dh's help.

St. Joan's wort tincture combined w/skullcap tincture is great for backaches! If you are interested, I can give you the dosage....

Hello... I'm 5w 3d and I had a sever lower back ache from the week I was supposed to start my cycle till two days ago. My ob said it's perfectly normal... it's from the extra hormones. Try a heating pad over the area that hurts and make sure you sit in chairs that support your back. Hope your aches subside soon.. good luck.

I'm so glad you posted this...I've been having back pain also...and I worry about m/c...no bleeding etc, and since others are having it, maybe I'll stop worrying! :) Hormones makes sense...those sneaky hormones that dictate our lives! :)

I'm one step ahead of the pain this time, I bought a tens unit and I'm going to start using it for 10-15 mins every night.
