Are you interested in midwifery? Have you felt a calling?
Do you wonder where your place in the birthing community would be?
Are you a doula or childbirth educator who would like to deepen your knowledge of birth?

Please come to the informational meeting designed to answer many of these questions and more

Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 1 pm. This is a very informal meeting, designed for any woman who is interested in learning more about the school, workshops and study group offerings. Please RSVP for directions.

There are two separate but related ways to gain more education in childbirth and midwifery.

With Woman School of Midwifery Weekend Workshops, an intensive course to prepare women to be of skilled help at a home birth, will begin in May, 2006. This five month course consists of book study, once-a-month weekend workshops, and some clinical experience. Ideal for anyone with an interest in birth, the With Woman Workshops are an economical way that many women can receive training in beginning midwifery and the clinical skills needed to be a valuable member of any birth team. Doulas, childbirth educators, apprentices and even advanced practitioners have found these in-depth classes to be an excellent way of focusing their goals in the childbirth field.

With Woman Study Group will begin in June, 2006, and meet once a month for the rest of the year. We will begin with an in-depth study of Heart and Hands: A Midwife’s Guide to Pregnancy and Birth by Elizabeth Davis, and then continue with Varney’s Midwifery. Although led by an experienced midwife and instructor, all participants will be asked to prepare tests and do presentations. You do not have to participate in the workshops to be in this group.

Meeting dates: June 5, July 10, August 7, then TBA. $25.00 per class donation requested

All meetings are held at:
