Hi mamas - just another opinion question:
When are you packing your bag to take to the birth (no matter where that takes place)? Have you already done so?
What are you going to take with you this time? I'm having a scheduled c/s, so I know I'll be in for at least 2-3 days. I just feel like some stuff I took last time was a waste (1st time mom syndrome) and I certainly want to take what I need. For instance, I can't remember if I took nursing bras with me or not... :duh

Now that we're thinking of moving our homebirth to in-laws' house, it really seems like there's an awful lot of packing to do. I'm supposed to have all my birthing stuff ready at my home visit too, whihc is scheduled for next week :eek .
I'm actually thinking of changing my home visit time now--it's just too early and the day after my term paper is due, so I for sure won't be ready. Don't need to do it 'til 37 or so weeks anyway, and I'll be 33-1/2 if we hold it when it's scheduled.
There's just *so* much stuff! A box of towels, a box diapers (in case we decide to stay there for a day or so), actual birth supplies, a box of linens, a few baby clothes--midwife said to have extra for waterbirth (? don't really get that--won't be hanging out there much after the birth, will we?), and then robe and whatever clothes and personal items for me...
Just remembered also some juice and food things (can never find anything to eat at in-laws, unless I'm into a boloney and white bread and american cheese sandwich).
It's just overwhelming. :(

I'll be at home so I'll just have everything set out, ready to go. If anything happens where I need to go somewhere, I guess I'll just have DH throw everything in a bag.

I almost packed mine this weekend because I was doing some hard-core nesting and felt like I HAD to do it, but luckily, DH convinced me to hold off a few mores weeks because he knows of my compulsion to pack and repack a million different times. I'll probably pack mine in the next couple of weeks though- I am 34 weeks today so probably around my 36th or 37th week.
And I am packing light as I am hoping to go in and have this baby and go home. Last time, I didn't take vey much either and I don't remember missing anything.

I am packing light.
-A tennis ball for back labor
-3-5 old t-shirts for the hospital, and maybe some comfy pj pants. There is also a chance i will be in for 3 days
-Old underwear, again for immediately pp
-drinks and snacks for DH/the drive to the hospital (I won't be able to eat once I get there)
-Cel phone, to be used outside to call relatives or to call the midwife in a huge panic halfway there. The hospital is 1.5 hours away. A phone card would be a good alternative if you didn't have to have that emergency phone thing.
-Phone number list, including #s for the hospital and midwife
And left in the trunk of the car, due to the 1.5 hour drive:
-infant car seat
-coming home outfits for baby (3 at least, DS managed to pee on 1, and be too big for another. Sleepers are small and pack light).
-Old but clean towels
-prescriptions from my doctor for a hospital-grade pump rental and medication to induce lactation, in case I have supply issues again

I've got a stack of things going that I add to when I think about something. I keep telling dh to bring the small suitcase in from the garage, but he hasn't done it yet. It's really driving me nuts. I just want the bag packed already!

I have a list of what I want in the bag and have 99% of the stuff. I just need to decide on music for the OR. I haven't packed, though, because I'm actually using most of the stuff still. I figure I'll pack in the middle of next month. I do have the list taped to the inside of the closet door so that dh can pack if needed.

I'm going to have a homebirth so I'm not packing a bag. If I end up transferring to a hospital, I'll have my mom bring some stuff in to me.
