I'm not sure if this is the right forum, so tia for listening... :) Anyhow, I had an emergency cerclage with my last pg at 18 weeks (I was pg with twins). Ended up on bedrest for 4 mos. Now, I'm 11w pg with a singleton. When I last spoke with my o.b. (he's a perinatologist) at 8w, he didn't think a cerclage was necessary... however, I'm a little nervous about this baby dropping out at 18w... My cervix was long, but it completely opened up - infact one of the twins' water bags had started to descend, so it was one of those "don't get off the table" emergencies... kind of scary - which I don't want to repeat. He blamed the twin thing, not so much my body's anatomy... I'm not sure about that.
Anyone here have a cerclage, and then another with subsequent pregnancies? or do you think it could have been a twin-thing with the weight of 2 babies? Wouldn't that have caused the cervix to shorten, not funnel open?
thanks for any insight!
