...hi all, looking forward to reading & posting here... I'm a mom of 2 girls (4yo & 8mo); SAHM but have been and will be graphic designer. Live in Ypsilanti (the "other side of the tracks" from Ann Arbor), MI, altho East Lansing is home and we also lived in Atlanta for 7 years and loved it. I'm also a fine cook (so I'm told), love movies and reading, reading reading reading all the time, skiing, swimming, and my kids and DH.

Actually right now I'm plowing my way thru _The Complete Tightwad Gazette_ (Amy Daczyczyn). We're looking to build up our savings a lot faster than we have been, so I'm doing research. I'm a big re-reader of things I love, and right now the _Hitchhikers' Guide_ series is calling my name again... after the tightwad book!

Someday I'm going to get around to starting a thread in the books forum...I love historical fiction, it's like learning but without studying :D . I just finished "Five Quarters of the Orange" by the same person who wrote "Chocolate". Made me want to eat really fattening food all the time...I should read the "Tightwad Gazette", been thinking about it for a while now. Let me know how it works out for you. :hippie

Hi Tani! welcome - I'm a newcomer myself. I have a dd who's 10 months and we live in Columbus (I work part-time @OSU, Michigan's archrival). Anyway, I too love reading and cooking with a passion and just thought it was neat to know someone else with similar interests.
