How long did it take to conceive #2 after c/s?

For those of you who have gotten pregnant after a c-section... How long were you ttc before conceiving? I've heard it takes longer if you've had a c/s, and was wondering if there's any truth to it.

It took me 9 months. My first was conceived while I was on birth control. I charted with my 2nd and we were good at bd'ing right around O.

It took the exact same amount of time that all my other pregnancies took-- two months...well, I guess ds didn't take two months--he was conceived immediately after a miscarriage, but the two miscarried babies before him did...and dd took two months too.

Ds#2 was conceived on ds#1's first birthday. I had only had one post partum period due to nursing and then ds#2decided he'd like to start growning inside me. Dh and I were not actively trying.

ds2 was conceived nearly 6 years after c.s. for ds1 ( who took only about 2 months of ttc, as did the two I lost to m/c before ds1), 4 of those years were ttc - that sure seemed to me like the c.s. had some effect

dc3 was conceived around ds2's 5th birthday (ds2 also c-birth), not ttc any of that time but not not ttc

how long till cycles resumed? 11 months after ds1 and 2 yrs after ds2

Both number 2 and number 3 (I'm pregnant now) were conceived the first month we tried.

but number one was 13 years ago. lol

after zoey was born august 2000, we started ttc in February 2002. got pregnant in november so 10 months. we only got really serious in august tho..charting and using opk's. so i say 4 months of really ttc

Well, we're starting month 6, and have had no success. I had an early mc on month 2. I got pregnant on the 2nd cycle off the pill with dd. I've been wondering if it isn't the c-section that has been causing the problems.

I breastfed on demand for 27 months after my daughter was born, and didn't even get my period back for 24 of those months. We conceived in the 27th month, when my daughter was weaning, miscarried after 10 weeks, miscarried again (early) 3 months later, and conceived successfully one month after that.

Possibly an usual history, but in my case I had to wait so long to get my period back I never knew it might take longer to conceive again because of the cesarian!

our dd was 5 months old, I was nursing her exclusively, w/ an IUD in place, and we concieved beautiful, perfect, very uexpected ds...
He was also a successful VBAC!!!

I'm on my 6th month of trying and dd was conceived 1st month of trying. I also suffered an EPL(early pg loss) while ttc#2.

We were not even trying for #2 (as with #1 just happened). Was/am breastfeeding when DD was just 12 months, I had no period, nothing to show return of fertility. 7 weeks after dd 1st birthday we find out we are 7 weeks along! we are expecting in June. No problems after my c-section, going for VBAC!

We got pregnant with both dc the first month we tried. They are 22 months apart. After 2 c-sections it took us 8 cycles to conceive #3.

It took seven months after AF returned (still breastfeeding almost-two year old), with charting and perfect bd timing.

I got pg with Sweetpea when dh was barely 5 months old. I lost her though. I was told that it was related to the c/s...but i don't believe it...I have a friend that had a repeat c/s and she conceived baby number 7 when baby number 6 was only 4 weeks old.....her children will be 10 months apart to the day...she has a scheduled c/s (something about the type of c/s she had prohibits a vbac...and she likes the c/s)

I think it just depends on the person!

I can finally answer the poll! It took us 6 months of ttc and charting for 3. We did have a very early mc in our 2nd month of trying. I wouldn't have even known I was pregnant if I hadn't taken the hpt very early and gotten a positive.

This time around just feels completely different. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it's a keeper, though!

And I'm not only going to try for a VBAC, I'm going whole hog and doing an HBAC!

I was on depo from the time i left the hospital with dd and stopped taking it due to dh and i deciding that wasn't an accepted method of birth control anymore... he didn't like the side effects... low sex drive... i had my ldpi (last depo shot) on April 1, 2003 and found out that i had conceived ds August 11, 2003... i didn't have af and the only reason how i found out that i was pregnant was because i started to get morning sickness... so, it was over 12 months from my c/s but less than 6 months since last depo shot. ***sending sticky vibes to all you mamas ttc or just found out that you are preggo!!!***:thumb

I just got a :+ yesterday - this was our first month officially trying although last month we did BD the day before O, so technically we conceived on the 2nd cycle.

Hi ladies! I answered this poll awhile back but now I'm pg again...and this baby seems to be pretty sticky!

I found out the day ds turned 13 months that I was 4 weeks along. I'm now 6 weeks today. So, I conceived but loss at 5 months and then conceived again around 12 months.
