Hi

I'm looking for a pediatrician in the Ithaca area and also a place to buy used kids' stuff in Ithaca or Binghamton/Vestal. Any recommendations??

Thanks!
Jenn

Used kids stuff............do you mean clothes? Toys? I'm thinking the weekly church sales, and Salvation Army, and places like that.

Yep. I'm looking for toddler boy stuff plus a high chair. We broke ours moving and I'm not anxious to spend full price on another one for the short amount of time he'll still be in it! Where we lived before there was a consignment type store that was just kids clothing & gear. I didn't know if there was anything like that around. I guess I'll have to wait until things thaw out and garage sale season starts!

Ok - let me think about it. I haven't shopped at any of those type of places cause my best friend gave me a lot of her stuff & her child is 3 years older than mine so it worked out well. Plus I have a large family & they filled in the rest. But let me ask around about children's consignment shops in Binghamton/Vestal area.

You must be in Ithaca. Wish I knew a pediatrician for you there. Hopefully you'll get some suggestions.

Oh the other thing I was going to suggest is just getting a booster seat with a tray that straps to a chair - we have one of those & it's portable & great. But it is plastic, and I know a lot of people on the boards don't use plastic stuff so it might not be an option for you. Just a thought. They are like $20.

I'm not sure how the garage sales are around here for toddler stuff cause my toddler is not great in the car with starting & stopping, in & out of the car seat. He gets really upset & fussy & crying. So my garage sale days are over for awhile. But they are listed in the Binghamton Press & there are a lot of garage sales around here in spring, summer and fall.

I don't come here very often so you prob don't need this, but I do have a good ped in the Ithaca area.

I really like "Cayuga family medicine" the MD's are Dr Loehr and Dr Selin. They are great and as far as I know they are the ONLY practice in town that won't bump you if you choose not to vax.
They are actually a family practice so they will see you as well. The number is 273-5551

I hope this is helpful...

thank you! I still haven't found a ped so this is definitely helpful. DS is healthy so I keep forgetting to take care of it. Good in a way I guess but I have to do his 2 yr. appt. next month so I better get on it!

Thanks!
