How are all the other post EDD babies movements? This little one is SO quiet, I am having to lie down and really concentrate to feel movements and its starting to worry me a little. My MW says as long as I get 10 in 10hrs there is nothing to worry about but that is so few compared to how bean has been moving.

Anyone else experiencing this? Should I be worried?

Do you know what position the baby is in? Mine was posterior for a while and I felt *soooo* much, and then much less when she turned... maybe it's a position thing? Also, I have found that if I eat a popscicle around 8 p.m. in the evening I get *lots* of movements, which is reassuring... I guess the cold wakes her up. But if your MW isn't concerned and the baby sounds good I wouldn't worry too much- just remember they don't have as much room at this point, and the movements may be more rolling and subtle!

Babe was posterior for a while here too and is ROA now, that could be part of it. Movements are definately more subtle and rolling, I never experienced this with DS as he was a 39weeker and still giving lots of hefty kicks!

My dc's movements were more subdued after the due date... but like the previous poster said... some juice or something sweet would prompt some more noticeable movement.

Inoticed a change in movements about a week ago...seems like there is less room, and when I get kicks now - they HURT! There are more quiet times of day, but I still get a good amountt of movement. And yeah - the further toward the back they are facing - the less I feel.

Whats worry me is that the kicks don't hurt! I can hardly feel some of the movements they are just so subtle now.

I was getting *really painful* kicks/movements for several weeks. Things seem to have actually quieted down in the last week or so (EDD yesterday). The movements are much more subtle, though there are still the occasional jabs. I've been sort of enjoying it b/c for a while this little one was really beating me up!! I figured that as babe gets bigger there's just not as much room to get a "running start" for those really strong movements...?

Mostly this babe's movements have stayed the same--which means moving A LOT. In fact, DH got a video on Easter night (so about four days over) of the babe looking like it was trying to crawl out of my stomach. It was pretty sensational!

I've only had two days where the baby has been really quiet. The first day I actually called my MW in tears and she sent me for an NST at the hospital. Of course once they put the cold gel on my tummy, the baby started riverdancing. :eyesroll

The other was just a couple days ago, and DH talked to the baby, and it moved, but not large movements like usual. I just kept track of the little movements, and as long as they were still happening I was okay.

After going through the NST (which was actually pre-EDD), I would say if you are in doubt, go have it done. It was totally non-invasive, and completely reassured me. I would expect the flamboyance of the movements (sorry, couldn't think of any other word, LOL) to decrease, but not the amount, KWIM?

Anyway, that's just my opinion. :) This is the first time I've gone over, and I'm keeping pretty close tabs on this little one--but I definitely don't want to shove him out before he's ready!

dont spend a minute worrying, call your midwife and get a NST. Mothers instinct isnt something to ignore. if you feel less movement it doesnt mean somethings wrong but why not make sure all is A O.K.?

my little guys movements have decreased a lot too. i just have to make sure i lay down and take it easy and give him a relaxed tummy to move in and he usually starts moving more.

My midwife advised me to look for ten movements in the AM and ten in the PM. (((((HUGS))))) sandi
