Anyone else test and think they got a positive for early January already??

:D We tested today and got a BFP, and my Ovusoft is putting the EDD at January 2. We're still in shock, because we've been trying for 12 months, and just went to the RE on Tuesday to talk about options. I was supposed to be scheduling a blood test this week and now it looks like I won't have to!!

Congratulations, Thalia! I have tested 4 times (because I'm a test taking freak) and they are all very faint positives. I'm still in shock myself since we've been trying for a year as well and I really didn't think this month was our month. I'm in disbeleif and shock and uncertainty along with excited and I want to tell everyone but my dh is the only one who knows and now anyone who reads MDC.
Oh the predictor put my edd at January 6th. But I don't put too much stock in an edd because my son came "late".

Woot! Go mamas!! I just took 3 in a row all with faint positives, then put a fourth in warm water, just to be sure my batch wasn't defective. We have been trying for about 6 months! My husband doesn't even know yet! I am waaay excited!

It's good to meet you all. I'm looking forward to learning from you as this will be our first child. I still cannot believe it, although it is all finally starting to sink in a bit.
We haven't told anyone yet (hoping to talk to my parents tonight and DH's this weekend), except for our RE and the woman who called me to schedule a blood donation--no more giving blood for another 9-10 months!

Oh, Brie and Sarah, congratulations!!! I'm getting more excited as the shock is wearing off.
Thalia, being a first time mom is so special and I'm looking forward to hearing about your journey!

I can't WAIT to see what my husband says. I feel ind of bad, because I've already told almost everybody.....I guess I was just soooo excited that I forgot about him :( Hopefully, he doesn't mind. What would you ladies do in this situation?? Other than obviously not being dumb enough to get into it in the first place....

Yeah, I sure hope he doesn't ask, but if he does I can't lie, not to him, I've never been good at that.... I mean he'd get over it, but still.....I hope he doesnt notice. I planned on not even telling him. When he gets home he goes straight to the bathroom, So I put on on the toilet lid, one on top of the tank and one by the seat hinge. A friend of mine suggest that I don't "put him on the spot" so to speak, which makes sense to me. I'm more likely to hear the right thing if I give him some time to figure it out :) I say no worries, really I do, I say it all the time, and I'm sayin it again......no worries here. Anyone else feeling as crazy as me today??

04-29-2006, 06:08 AM
Well. THat sure didn't go as planned.....he went into the bathroom twice, and didn't even notice the FIVE tests I had layed around, then I was finally like "Why don't you go back inthere and turn the light on this time, and he was like, whast's all this bullsh*t...and THREW THEM AWAY!!!! I said, well gee that's not quite how I thought you'd react.....and he said "Oh! those were pregnancy tests huh....granted I buy the tiny strip dip kind, but still....I didn't get as hug or a congratulatons or ANYTHING. My husband really should take a class on how to meet a womans needs.......then he was all crabby right away at 5:30 this morning. He asked me to take the dog out and start his car b/c he was running late for work. THEN he said he had nothing to bring for lunch and asked me to drop one by his work......I feel so unsupported right now. :(

Oh, Brie. :hug
You are a good woman to help him when you deserve special attention. Men are so compartmentalized in their thinking. One track mind. When it finally hits him he'll be focused on your feelings but right now he is all about the now and what he can see. Men really are clueless and I pray you don't take it too personally.
You've been blessed with this new little life. Your dh will be so thankful to know this little person in time. I'm sorry he isn't on the bandwagon right now.
Take comfort in knowing your dh isn't the only clueless self-centered man in the world. Yesterday, I started feeling nauseau. I thought I would share my symptoms of pregnancy with dh so he would feel a part of it, and to get it off of my chest. Well, we were sitting down at dinner and I told him I started to feel nauseaus today and he said, "it's all in your mind". WTF? I was in complete shock that he was telling me what I was or wasn't feeling physically.
Oh well, my dh does do some nice things and in the big picture I'm better for having him in my life. So, I forgave him.

Yeah, I agree, and I also forgive my DH and am putting a little note in his lunch today :)
It is still a little frustrating though.....my husband is also a fan of telling me how I am the one making my problem exist.....all in your head, I mean I never got nauseua, thank God, but I've heard that about other things including my depression and Aspergers! Men, gah, I'm going to go write a rant! lol

Hi ladies!! I finally find this board lol, I am due with #2 1/7/07. I found out on Thursday at only 11dpo, confirmed it with a digital on 12 dpo.
I didn't tell my dh tell yesterday and he was happy! I have been trying for about 8 months but my dh wouldn't agree he was using the pull out method, finally 2 weeks ago he didn't pull out and it happen to be on O day! We have a special needs son with a a brain disorder so this baby has a chance of having the same thing. So its sort of a scary thing but I am so hopeful!
I look forward to getting to know you all better in the next 9 months!

Hi Ladies, I'm another January 2007 person.
I tested positive 8 days ago at 11 DPO. Ovusoft put my due date as January 1st.
Went to the doctor early because my last pregnancy had TONS of early complications- lots of bleeding (I was incorrectly told I miscarried :irked:), an abnormal ultrasound, a lot of nail-biting. But DD is 28 months now and as healthy as can be.
Right now I'm just trying to patiently wait for the 8-week ultrasound. I have an appointment on May 22nd. For my nervous/anxiety levels I really need to see that heartbeat!

Congratulations, mamas! I'm excited to share this journey with you!
That patient waiting thing is tough. :hug
So are grumpy partners. :hug
I'm expecting my third, edd of Jan 7.
My dd's are 6 (going to be 7 this Saturday!) and 4.5.
I've only told dh & a doula friend (I'm a doula.) I wish I hadn't told the friend, but I needed to tell someone & she's isolated from my family & other friends. She just isn't supportive of homebirth. I had a homebirth with my 2nd, and I'll probably have another. I knew this about her, but for some reason I just expected her to be happy for me and not press me for the details. Like I'm even thinking about the birth! Well, not too much :) Guess I'm paring down the guest list pretty quick!

Boy, we have a lot of babies due on January 7! That's my due date too. I have two dd's - they turn 7 and 4 this month.
This will definitely be our last baby, so I plan on enjoying this pregnancy as much as possible. Every time I feel like complaining, I'm going to remind myself that this is the last time my body will be growing a baby.
We're also planning a home birth - our first.
Can't wait for our ddc board.

Love all these 1/7 due dates!! I was going to go for a home birth as well but I am not so sure. We moved from Texas to La abotu 4 months ago and there are only 2 midwives here. I am still meeting with them and may use them as a doula in the hospital. I for sure want an unmedicatied VBAC this time. I am scared doing it in the hospital will be harder to get my wishes but just not sure I want do to it at home yet.
I figured I can always change my mind half way through and go to the midwife.

So I have made up my mind what I am doing about the OB/midwife situation.
I got an appointment with a OB on May 10th at 10am. I am going to go head and get in there get that stuff done and get the blood work done. Get a referral to a specialist and get that going. (my son has a brain/genetic disorder that we have a 1 and 4 chance of having another child like him, so they have to check for it with level 3 ultrasounds)
Then I will stop seeing the OB and start seeing a Midwife in Tyler, Tx. It will be a good hour and half drive to my appointments but it will be worth it I think. I am going to birth at her birthing center and have a water birth!
I so hope it all works out and that we have a wonderful healthy baby. If complications arise then I will go back to the OB of course.
I am glad to at least have it figured out. Its just bugging me that I don't know where I will birth.

Hi There-
This is my first ever reply to MDC. I don't know all of the lingo yet..... but I am so excited to be pregnant with baby #2 due in January. I also took 4 tests before the last one confirmed my suspisions.
I am glad to have others to talk to who are going through the same things as me.
I was so surprised at my sudden exhastion, belly bump and hunger-- for my first I didn't even know untill I was 12 weeks pregnant.

Ack! I can't believe I didn't notice this thread! I was so busy looking for a whole forum board thing that I totally missed it.
Well, after thinking I was pregnant last month (all the symptoms, etc) and realizing that I actually was disappointed when I wasn't, dh and I discussed it and we decided to start trying in either June or July. But the best laid plans . . . I got a :+ last night after finally deciding to test (AF was a couple of days late, but I just didn't *feel* pregnant, no symptoms, nothing). :lol
So now I'm vascillating between total excitement and total apprehension. Mostly excitement though.
Oh, and edd: 1/5/07 :D Congrats everybody!

Hi everyone!
I'm Lisa, pg with my 3rd child (WOW, did I just say THIRD!!!) due on January 8th, 2007. My other two are boys born 1/02 and 5/04.
Jessica, I remember you from the May 2004 board at FF!!! My youngest ds was born 5/14! I can't believe we are pg again together!!! What was your due date with your ds? My due date with ds2 was 5/18. Wild! I remember thinking you had the prettiest belly pics I had ever seen. :o And no, I'm not a stalker...lol. I'm glad you made your way to MDC. The mamas here are so smart and I have learned so much in my over 3 years here!
Congrats mamas!!!

I just called my OB and they said I needed to come in and get labwork done, and I asked what for, and they told me: to check your blood type, check you for syphillis, hep. b. check your immunity to rubella and HIV! My son is almost one, I've recently had this testing done, if I didn't have any of that then, the chances are slim I'd have it now, my lifestyle before DS was pretty wild..... and my BLOOD TYPE?!?! I asked her, well, I know my blood type, would it have changed? And shge said, no, it's just routine. So I told her, fine I will schedule the appointment, but I'm refusing these ridiculous tests, so what would be the point of my visit.....she said, to do paper work. So, at 1:45 on Thursday I will drive 45 minutes with my one year old son, and our new puppy who can't be left alone b/c she's very sick right now, so I can go do parperwork. yay
I am also contemplating a homebirth, but where do you do it? It's messy, and I'm not doing it on my bed. My bathtub is porcleain, thus COLD and also tiny. I was thinking maybe buying something, like an inflatable mattress or something, and setting up a "Birth Room" in our second bedroom, its just full of boxes and what not right now. I dunno.....what are alll you other mamas thinking?

Hi ladies. I'm feeing the nausea daily now, mostly in the afternoons. I went to the gym today and took it easy. My implantation bleeding has almost completely gone away so I'm more confident to exercise, I don't know why, I guess it's psychological.
Jessica, I'm glad you have a plan of action. I was trying to figure something out for myself yesterday and I made some phone calls, sent some e-mails and I've come up with this so far. There is a very pro-VBAC ob who works out of a birthing center in a major hospital. There is also a mid-wife who has privileges at this birthing center and my insurance covers the birthing center, the ob but I'm not sure about the mid-wife. The ob actually does back-up for this particular midwife so I'm pretty excited. I've also made contact with a "BirthWorks" instructor (similar to bradley but more trust your body) and she has been so encouraging with her words in her e-mails about me going for a VBAC. I think she also doulas, so I may hire her for her encouragement.
Brie, I would reschedule the office visit till your pup was well. The paper work and such can wait another week or two. It may be easier on you not worrying about the puppy while you are in the office. Just a thought.
Congratulations to all the positives! :love When we get our permanent forum I think we should all take early belly pics so we have something to compare in a couple months.

Brie: Maybe see if there are some birthing centers near you. That way you don't have to do it at your home if you don't want too. I would preffered my home but since La. has stupid laws and is not VBAC friendly I have to do it in a whole other state.:lol
Danielle : Sounds like your on the right track!! Good luck with the birth plans! Oh about the belly pics, ugg!! I already had a bit of a belly to start with, I was 10 pounds over my prepregnancy weight.

About the homebirth - I'm planning on renting an aquadoula waterbirthing tub from my midwife group. I think it's like $100-$150. This is my main motivation for planning a homebirth - I really want a waterbirth. None of the hospitals in my area will allow actual birth in a tub - only labor.
We have a large bathroom off of our bedroom, and we plan to set the tub up in there. The midwives will help with the cleanup - they stay 3-4 hours post-partum to make sure everything is tidy.
Oh, and my mw's don't need to see me until I'm 10-12 weeks unless some problem/reason arises to see me sooner. Brie, if I were you I would reschedule until my puppy was feeling better.

Hi everyone. I just tested tonight and come up positive. I'm stunned. I have a 20 month old DD who co-sleeps and nurses like a maniac. I'm overwhelmed by the idea of having TWO babies since my toddler is so like a baby in her sleep and nursing habits :lol Anyway, I am excited to join the group and would love some community and support with this. THANKS!
