It's my 3rd. I'm 5'2. I wear a size 12 pants. I never, ever do crunches. I'm just barely pregnant. The babe is miniscule, but the bloating is killing me.

I'd really like to keep it under wraps for a while, mainly because I want my kids to hear it from me and I'm not ready to tell them. I also love this delicious little secret!

Most of my pants are all ready too tight and my tops are too short. I can't justify much shopping b/c I'll have to buy maternity clothes in the near future as I've given away almost everything I had (isn't that a sure fire way to get pregnant!)

Should I buy a girdle? I remember my grandma used to wear one. Do they even still make such things? It seems like something I'd hate (like a bra,) but it might buy me a little time.

I need tips!

You can get maternity pants that don't have a panel, and that will get you through a good portion of pregnancy. I find that I need maternity pants *right away* (ie, within a week or so of testing!), but I don't need maternity tops for a good while longer. Just wear your bigger shirts and it will still look like "fat". :lol

Also, you could check consignment shops for clothes in a bigger size that are cheap, especially if you're needing tops. Buying one size larger in tops can really make you not look pregnant for a while.

I wouldn't do a girdle, personally. That sounds awfully uncomfortable and would probably make m/s much much worse!!!!

What about snagging a few of your hubbies shirts? I used a rubber-band on my pants when I was newly pregnant to give the waist a little more space.

Mamallama,
I have just yesterday heard a story of a woman miscarrying by wearing a girdle. This was someone that my relative knew who was 4 1/2 -5 months along. I wouldn't do that.

You can still get them, but a girdle might interfere with your circulation, and will make the bloating even more uncomfortable... might I suggest long, flowing skirts? The kind with a drawstring waist are great, 'cause you'll be able to wear them for awile yet, and they hide EVERYTHING. (even 5 months of baby, with the right top!)

Don't hide your belly after you tell your kids that you are pregnant be proud of what you made!
