Okay, I am just barely 4 weeks pregnant....period due tomorrow. Got the positive test at 10 DPO. How in the world is my belly already swelling??? This happened with my last pregnancy as well. Is it bloating? Is that normal to bloat up like this in early pregnancy. I have to admit, I've held on to a belly pooch since my son was born, but it's always been more flab than anything. And now suddenly I look pregnant. Of course, it's not baby yet. I'm positive on my dates...there is no way that I'm further along than I think.
Anyone else bloat up like this?

<sigh> yeah, I can relate. I'm five weeks. My pants are uncomfortable.

I usually feel like this for a day or so before my period, but it never lasts. It's not getting worse, but it certainly doesn't seem to be going away, either!

I wasn't planning on telling for a while, but I might have to. I don't want someone to ask in front of my kids before they hear it from me!

:nod Yup. Felt like that since the test turned positive :lol

I'm six weeks now and the bloat has gone down a little bit, probably because I'm puking up my extra fluids :irked:

Yep - i'm six weeks, and my belly looks huge to me. Pants are becoming very uncomfy....

I'm a little bloated, but most of my noticeable swelling is in my breasts! :blush They're huge, which is completely foreign to me.

(Jumping in from October)

This is my third pregnancy and I had no choice but to either wear sweatpants or maternity pants by seven weeks. I was actually embarrassed going into the maternity store so early. But the sales clerk told me that she sees it all the time in subsequent pregnancies. Go figure!

(Jumping in from November:))

With my FIRST, my jeans got tight by 9DPO - ie, my mom saw I was wearing sweat pants that day and told my dad on the way home that she thought I was pregnant because "the waist is the first thing to go"! :lol She was totally right! I was in maternity pants at 8 weeks with that one.

I'm on #2 now, and this time I was in maternity pants at 5 weeks. :p Also, around that time, I tried on a friend's maternity clothes that were a little small for me. I put on a size M pair of overalls (I'm XL!), and I looked 5 months pregnant! It was amazing. I'm bloated not just below the belly button, but above it too, so that's why it makes me look truly pregnant when I'm wearing certain clothes (like empire waist stuff).

I'm 12 weeks now, and the bloat comes and goes, but I'm always sticking out alot more than I was pre-preg. I've even worn maternity tops some days (T-shirt type), and I'm starting to push those out a bit on occasion. I don't need maternity tops yet, but they actually cover the waist panel on my maternity pants. Obviously, none of this sticking out stuff has been baby. I felt my uterus starting to move up at 11 weeks (also started feeling the baby move then!), so the bottom of my belly is starting to pooch out due to actual baby, but above the belly button is still pooched out quite a bit, and that's just bloat. :o

Glad I am not the only one! I bought a few maternity things yesterday, at 6 weeks exactly. My belly felt different before I even tested positive (at 3 weeks 2 days). Some of it is flab, but things look waaay different this time!

no swelling yet but I went and bought some fabric to make something similar to this http://www.apeainthepod.com/Product.asp?Product_ID=90164330 that way I can wear regular clothes longer.
