Anyone know of anywhere that's in need of a Drama/Theatre teacher? Really anywhere? I know these jobs are hard to come by. I also know that alot of the private school jobs are found by word of mouth. Thanks to anyone who has any leads.

I have a bachelors in Theater Arts and worked for the past 7 years in Disney Entertainment. :)

If this is off topic please feel free to delete. :)

I worked for this principal at a different school last year and did not see eye to eye with him but maybe you'll have better luck.

I just realized that the link doesn't work correctly;

Here's the important information:
NC Teacher License in Theater Arts Education(108); Master's degree and/or three to five years of teaching experience desired; Effective oral and written communication skills; Effective student management skills. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective communication with students, parents and other staff personnel; Effective student management skills; Minimum Computer Literacy Level 1 Competency required.

2006-2007 School Year at Pender High School, 5380 NC Hwy. 53 West, Burgaw, NC 28425; PHONE: (910)259-0162; FAX: (910)259-0166 Principal: Mr. Robbie Cauley

Don't be put off by the masters degree. That is something on every job description there including the one that I have and I don't have a masters degree.

You can apply online here:

http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/employment/application.html

But the main thing is to call the principal and fax your resume.

You could try the Chronicle of Higher Education. It's on the web. www.chronicle.com (I think). This is a site primarily for university postings. I've heard of people without graduate degrees teaching in your field at univeristies as long as they have a sufficient background and some experience. Don't know if it'll help but Good Luck:thumb

My university (www.wou.edu) has a program in theater but I am not sure if they are looking for instructors.

Have you tried Carnie Sandoe? They specialize in placing teachers in private school jobs.
