Very worried, bleeding after intercourse...

I am very worried. I am 6 weeks pg and tonight, DH and I did the deed. When I went to the bathroom afterwords, there was blood. Not a huge amount. but enough to look like AF when it first starts. I don't have any cramping or anything though. Is this common? Do I need to call my Dr tomorrow?

I would not worry Mama I have done a lot of research about bleeding int he past few days.. and I found a couple things that say sex will sometimes cause bleeding because your cervix is so sensative right now btu its nothing to worry about.. as long as you dont have cramping and pain and it goes away in a day or two..:) you can always do a search on webmd if your worried. In early pg bleeding from sex is fairly normal. When you are pg, the capillaries in the cervix, for some reason, are more sensitive. Aggitation can cause the capillaries to break.

At least that is what I've been told.

Some women are also bleeders. With T I bled just once or twice. With B I bled off an on till 16 weeks. Heck, I would bleed if I sneezed too hard!

Hang in there. More than likely it was nothing, though I totaly understand the upset!

Same thing happened to me when I was pregnant w/DS. I FREAKED OUT, I called the doc rushed in for an u/s, and everything was fine (well, they thought maybe he wasn't developing, but when we went back 2 weeks later they did another and just found that my dates were a month off, b/c I missed a period the month before I got pregnant....weird....)

Close friend from work had this issue. Happened every time but she has a completely healthy normal child these days! They did put her on a strict no sex diet that would have killed me in early pg :laugh

Thanks so much!! The bleeding seems to have stopped and I am scheduled for my viability ultrasound tomorrow anyways, so I think I will hang tight until I can talk to the doctor tomorrow.

I have had this happen too already. I wasn't too alarmed b/c I was a bleeder last time. Infact I ended up not having sex almost the whole pg. I bet it will happen this time too for me.

I have had spotting after sex twice so far in this pregnancy. Its normal for me. I just know it because my first baby I bled a lot after sex. My OB said that my cervix is more sensative then most.

We went for the viability u/s today and there are two heartbeats!! A bit of a shock but they were definitely there. We go for another u/s next week to make sure everything is going ok because one is a little smaller than the other. What a day!!:yikes:
