She's pretty mainstream, when it comes to most things - she breastfeeds, though - so, that's good, I guess.
I know she wants to have a VBAC, but is a little scared of the pain of labor (I laughed and said - believe me, pain of labor is NOTHING compared to the pain of trying to walk and breastfeed after a c/s).
Anyway, do you know of any books I could get her that are specifically geared toward VBAC. I know she'll be doing hospital/medical interventions. :(

It's a bot outdated, but The Silent Knife is really great. It got me thinking about VBAC as the possibility, and not something that was dangerous. Then, there is The THinking WOman's Guide to a Better BIrth, not just for VBAC, but good for any pregnancy. Also, have her get on the ICAN list, there is more info there than in any book.
Great that you are such a supportive sister.

I got the VBAC Companion from my local library and found it very comforting and informative. Above is the link to amazon.com.

I would highly reccommend Birthing From Within, by Pam Englund. It is just a really good childbirth preparation book for anyone as it deals with a lot of the emotional and mental components rather than just the technical medical stuff. I have used a lot of her excersizes with doula clients and it really brings up and helps deal with fears even when they weren't conciously aware. Another bonus is that a lot of the drawing excersizes (not just for artists) end up creating a pretty cool book of things to show baby when they get older that you made while pregnant with them. Best wishes....:)
