my son (who will be 6 this august) found my old copy of charlott's web and devoured it. now he's reading it again on his own AND wants me to re-read it to him from the beginning at bedtime (which we started doing tonight)!
i think this is AWESOME but i'd also like to add on some additional stuff that's in line with that same sort of subject matter, or maybe discuss different aspects of the book?
right now we've started defining more of the vocabulary terms he wasn't familiar with, but other than that --- suggestions?? (like for curriculum resources that i can use to go along with the book??) ETA - we're also working on more reading comprehension skills but he's already got just about everything i "test" him on nailed down. :duh (for example: i didn't even really believe he had actually READ it all the way through until i drilled him on some of the concepts and plot elements of the book, and he told me the entire story line, named characters, explained the plot, everything. :dropjaw )
(sorry, i know this is scattered, i'm exhausted!)
