I'm really getting kinda worried now..This is what's been going on..
Thursday: AF Due -Faint Pos in AM, Neg in PM
Friday: Faint Post in AM
Saturday: Faint Pos in AM, Faint in Afternoon
Sunday: Faint Pos in AM, Neg in PM
Shouldn't the lines be getting darker? I don't understand what's going on. AF was due on Thursday night and hasn't shown..I don't know what to think..I've felt really gassy today and my lower back hurts or it could just be the gas. What in the world is going on?
If I miscarry will I start my period? I've never had a m/c before so I don't know what to think..Thanks for any advice..It's been a rough day!

They are likely darker in the morning because the hormones are more concentrated in your urine--because you've gone 8 hours without drinking or peeing.

HPT aren't 100% for starters...so either you aren't pg and somehow you are getting the faint pos (are you going thru any fertility treatments at all?)
OR, you are pg and your hormones haven't really built up enough to show a strong positive.
If you m/c early it is sometimes like a heavy period--or maybe like a normal period, depending on what your normal flow is. Maybe with extra cramping.
I would say the best thing is to stop testing and stop stressing...stress won't help you and may hurt you...give yourself until Friday and test again...
Good luck to you!

Ya know, I didn't think of that, but it is very logical!! Which is why they always say to test with morning urine!

Take your temperature in the AM before moving... Of course knowing your baseline first is probably a good idea.
For me my pre-O is 97.3ish and post-O is 98 and up.
I'm late, AM temps are 98.2 -- therefore I knew I was prego.
I finally got around to a HPT this afternoon -- very faint...

Yeah, definitely sounds like the hcg is just still in the low stage where the hpt isn't able to pick it up with less concentrated afternoon/evening urine. That's ok! You're early in the game. :) Definitely sounds like you're preggo!!!!
As for early m/c... I had one the cycle before I got preg. I never got a bfp though - it was a *really really really* early m/c. I went 4 days late on AF and had all the symptoms, then the day I was going to get a blood test (sick of seeing bfn hpts), AF started. My AF ended up being pretty much like normal, and I O'd on the same timeframe that I normally would (using the beginning of AF as the first cycle day). This preg stuck. :)
But I wouldn't expect a m/c just because you have faint lines. Hpts are NOT quantitative - they don't tell you HOW pregnant you are. They just say yes or no. The answer they're giving you now is YES. :) Your hcg is probably on the low side, but that's perfectly normal for that stage. There's a huge range of normal! I'll bet if you took a test a week from now in the afternoon/evening, it'd show up as a bfp. And the faint vs. dark line doesn't really matter either. Different tests within the same brand even can have different amounts of dye, and the darkness of the line is affected by how much dye is present. I took Dollar General tests, and they took a full minute to show anything, and it was faint - even a few days later. I'm now 16 weeks preg though! :)

..it is also much more rare for the test to show a false positive.. false negs were much more common, esp with the older tests that required morning (concentrated) urine after being 2 weeks late. If you tested too early they weren't sensitive enough to pick up the faint hcg... It sounds like you are doing a LOT of testing and stressing yourself out. If you are really concerned, make an appointment with a midwife and talk it all over :wink

Sounds like you're going to be a mommy!!! How exciting... but also remember that if you wait too long to look at the results of a test (i.e. over ten minutes later) the result will turn positive sometimes. If you are reading it immediately and it says positive... you are DEFINITELY preggo!!! I know your head is spinning right now :dizzy: but try and relax. Give it another couple of days and retest with first morning urine (it has the strongest levels of hcg). Good Luck! :thumb
