I am kinda unhappy with our ped, and VERY unhappy with my primary care physician. He's a DO, but he's NEVER seen me and he's very short on time for my DH.

I am just annoyed, and would like to know who you see for what.

Thanks

I still need some recommendations on good docs as we are increasingly disappointed in the ones we see now.

I don't have a Dr. :D

Actually, I really like Central FL. Pediatrics. Dr. Lewis is really great; she didn't give me a hard time about having Lucas at home, or not vax. or circumcising - and she's great with the kids too. We'll most likely see her once Daniel is born for that initial once over.

Sorry I can't help more - good luck!

So, when you do use a doctor, Dr. Lewis sees your kids? We've had some issues with CFP b/c we have only seen the doc one time. We made his 6 month WBC specifically to see Dr. Kilgore and then ended up with an NP. While this is usually ok, I want to see the doc b/c of DS's medical condition. Only the doctor who cares for other HD babies can make a correct assesment of him.

We also called when DS was really really sick. He was coughing up stuff and wheezing and when I called to see a doc, they told me the doc would only see him after we'd tried all the cough and cold remedies out there. gggrrr

Well, I got moved anyway. No one seems to answer in the Florida area. Oh well...guess I will have to start interviewing.

I'm in east Orlando. I really, really liked Pediatrics Plus which is located on Mills in Downtown Orlando. We had to stop going there because our insurance (Cigna) dropped them. They may be really far for you though! It was a 30 min. drive west for us.

We see Dr. Acker at Physicatians Associates now. She's fine, nice, compitant, my dd likes her. I have'nt been thrilled with the office staff though. We wait forever and they have made some mix-ups too. Nothing really serious though.

We are kind of waiting to see if Cigna adds Peds Plus back on.

Dr. Franz and Dr. Valez are AWESOME!!!
They don't push vax and are very supportive of parents who choose not to vax.
They support EB and prescribe herbs and homepathics.
Totally worth the drive. They are in Orlando, off the Gore St exit.

Sorry but I won't be much help. Ds goes to Central Fl Peds too. It's the only place in the area that takes our insurance. We saw Dr. Kilgore on his first visit but since then he has only seen the NP. I actually like her. I can understand why you would want to see docs. I think that they have to have an auctual Dr. there at all times. Did you ask?

I don't have a family practice now. I haven't bothered looking for one since moving to this area 2 years ago. I don't like the one DH went to so I will look for a different one. My Ob is in Winter Park.

If you some good docs let me know.

We use Deland Pediatrids. I know a LOT of people do not like them, and they do have thier issues, but.. Dr Usha doesn't give me a hard time on vax, knows I rarely use Antibiotics and will ask if I want them before she prescribes them. I have also been VERY worried with Aislinns delayed developement, and Dr PAtel has always been very laid back about it-gave me some simple excercises to do with her, and reassured me that she IS doing just fine! LOL She has her own opinions about things, and we'll talk/debate things sometimes, but it's always very casual and she respects my decisions. I think the biggest problem people have with them is that they get a lot of new parents that don't know what they are doing, and treat all new patients' parents like they are new parents that don't know what they are doing until they get to know you a bit more and they realize you do. They just want babies to be cared for the way they deserve to be:) I do let some things go in one ear and out the other though-like not feeding babe at night anymore, and no co-sleeping. But the first food that was recommended to me for Aislinn was organic carrots:) LOL

I live in deltona too but i work in longwood and i take my son to the Doctors down there. I take him to Dr. FIner who is at I-4 and 434 he is very easy going and take his time. he is a one man band and NEVER overbooks himself. One thing though is he will not see children if they are not vaccinated. But he is an awesome doctor.

We take Jack to the Franz Center. I like Dr. Franz, but I LOOOOVE Diana, one of their nurse practioners. NP's can do everything a doctor can do, but they take so much more time with you during every visit and really get to know your child. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I went through 4 pediatricians in 4 months before I ended up here, and I can't believe I finally found the pediatric office my family deserves - we are real partners in my child's medical well being. I feel like I have to "fight" with them, or have my guard up, which was a constant in other offices.

Off the doctor thread, if anyone needs a good pediatric dentist, Dr Troy King in Oviedo is fabulous. Parents are always welcome to stay with their child the whole time, which is a rarity in the world of pediatric dentistry!
