Hi all. I just found out and am due mid Feb. I have had hyperemesis (severe nausea and vomiting) w/ every pregnancy and wondered if anyone else here suffered with it. Not that I wish anyone to go thru it, but it might be nice to have a "friend" for support.
I feel the nausea trickling in. For the past week I've been off feeling and today its been bordering on sickly.
SO. Let the games begin!

I'm from the sept ddc, but have hyperemesis as well.
Mine finally let up slightly around 6.5 months - but I'm still on medication for it.
You might check out helpher.org - it's an entire website for HG with a message board.

I'm not sure that I technically had hyperemesis. I did have terrible m/s but was able to keep water down. I lost 15 lbs in the first trimester though. I survived on a few chips and ice pops each day. I am terrified that I will have to go through that again only with a toddler this time. I could use a "friend" as well. I have only had a little bit of nausea so far. I am almost dreading the 6 week mark which is when it started last time. Hope we both make it through without getting too bad.

I had it with my first two pregnancies. I never had to have iv fluids, but I was mighty close both times and was on meds. I threw up several times a day for the first 4-5 months both times, but it was at its worst around 9-12 weeks. That was the dangerous time for me when I came close to needing iv fluids. After that point I still threw up daily, but the constant nausea started letting up. It was easier for me to eat late at night for some reason, so that's what I did. I think my first two pregnancies were so much rougher, because I was working and totally exhausted most of the time. I also wasn't focusing on keeping something in my stomach all the time. For me, the nausea is SO much worse when hunger strikes. If I can prevent hunger, the nausea stays managable. It's there still, but managable. Also, making sure you get plenty of protein is helpful.
