Gentian Violet. It is messy but well worth it. The meds my dr gave me never worked.

local health food store or pharmacy.

we used gentian violet the first time we had thrush and it worked well.

the second time, i did not have relief from pain for over 5 days so i switched to using citricidal grapefruit seed extract diluted in distilled water (10 drops GSE to 1 oz of water). my pain and symptoms went away in less than 2 days, but i continued using the GSE for another 3-4 days.

i have heard that different things work better for different people, so if the gentian violet does not provide relief for you and baby within a week, consider trying the GSE or vice versa.

www.drjaygordon.com has more info on treating thrush with GSE.

www.drjacknewman.com has more info on using gentian violet.

I highly recommend GSE. You can get it at health food stores or online (I got mine at Herbalremedies.com). There is liquid form (for nipples and baby's mouth) and capsule form (for Mom).

Also, cut out sugar and processed foods - especially grains. Carbohydrates feed the beasts. Stick with complex carbs as much as possible.
