So I talked to my midwife today and she suggested telling everyone "end of Feb/ beginning of March" so that we set expectations realistically. She said most first babies are born in the two weeks after the due date but that some people FREAK out on you when they think you have gone over the due date, so by padding it a bit, you prevent a lot of phone calls and inquiries on the EDD itself.

Thought that was probably good advice -- It also means I can wait a few more weeks before breaking the news to the In Laws who will spread it like wildfire (Which I am not ready for).
:p

I'm telling people the same thing this time about my due date. I don't really know a specific due date, but I'm telling people the later end of the range instead of the earlier possible due date. Deep down, I think my real due date might be the end of Jan, but I'm telling everyone the first part of Feb. I usually go a week or so past my due date anyway, so I'm honestly expecting to have a Feb baby anyway. Hopefully by just giving a vague idea of a due date it'll help keep people off my back at the very end.

Oh yeah, I never tell people my due date, mainly because it is basically irrelevant. LOL I always give a very approximate answer.

Have a wonderful first pregnancy and enjoy it lots!

I usually just say what month I am due, never an exact date. My mw and I have discussed encouraging labor early this time due to GD and 2 should dystocias (my last 2 babies). I am watching my diet very closely from the beginning. I have a feeling this will be an end of January baby.

i am telling people valentine's day when in reality the guess date is jan.28th. my husband doesn't even know the real date (as he can't keep a secret!). since neither set of parents are thrilled about my homebirth/midwife approach, this will keep them off my back!

Congratulations!! I've been saying early Feb for our EDD. It just makes it easier for people.
