NW Florida - North Okaloosa?

We just moved to NW Florida in December! We live in the little town of Crestview. I am looking for some like-minded mamas! My 4 yo daughter is in preschool (for the socialization, otherwise, at this point, she would be isolated) but we need some playgroups. There are a couple out here but nothing specific to North Okaloosa county! I am a SAHM to my beautiful 4 yo and a wonderful 20 mo boy! Is there an Mothering mamas out there who feel isolated like I do? THere is not even a LLL here! If you're out there, please e-mail me!

hey. We are moving back to south walton ina few weeks. I lived in pensacola through college and loved it. Now we bought a house in south walton and I understand how you feel isolated. We live in a picture perfect neighborhood and nobody shares anything, they barely even say hi. We drive 20 miles to a playground and unless you want to go shopping, to a bar, or to a restaurant, there's not much to do. It's all about being homebound, which is fine, but you have to put your babies in childcare to get any socialization. I know how you feel. We lived there last year for 4 months and the ongoing theme was isolation. I'm very scared about going back

Thanks for responding! Since I posted that in March, things have become, well, downright awesome! I met a mom through here, a mom through APMomsConnect, two more moms through a local ad looking for AP moms, and the local Bradley teacher. We created a play group and get together once a week. We have created an organic produce coop (GO) and a natural food coop (Ozark). Our husbands have even become friends! I have truly built a wonderful tribe. I just love it here!
As far as distance goes, we have a mom on base, two moms from Niceville, another from Defuniak Springs, and two of us live in Crestview. Once you move back, please contact me again. We would love to have you join us! It may be a drive for you but we take turns meeting in each other's homes.

that's so good. That helps me in knowing that there is hope in every situation. I'd love to get in on the coop, and you are an inspiration that I need to chill out and I'll find my niche... I'm pretty sure that South Walton is far from Crestview, but I'lll still tell you when I get there. In the mean time, throw any resources etc... my way and I'll do the same!!!
