I will be going on vacation at the end of september to stuttgart. I just want to know what the weather will be like. What kind of clothing I should pack. Will be hot and humid or not? Are there any particular places that I should definately see? Anything else I should know? I have never been there so it would be an extremely new experience for me. Thanks:loveeyes:

I live in Stuttgart, and can tell you that the end of September is one of the best times to visit. The weather is normally very warm, but not too humid (but pack llayered clothes just in case - it can still be cold and rainy or hot and sticky or both all in one day). Closed toed shoes are important, as is a tiny portable umbrella you can pack in your bag/purse just in case of a rain shower (the weather can change from hour to hour here).
There are a lot of things you can see (even though Stuttgart isn't the most beautiful city in Germany).
Will you be travelling with children?
It's hard to think of things to do when I've lived here for so long (and now have small children) but here are some of the must-see things that I thought of off the top of my head:
-The DaimlerBenz museum
-Alteschloss Museum with the Wurtemberg crown jewels
-Ludwigsburg Castle (tours in English, great gardens and a lovely Fairy Tale park within for younger children)
-Esslingen (a medieval town next to Stuttgart with original fortress wall, narrow medieval streets, a river through the town, walking tours in English)
PM me if you have any other questions or need any more tips for the area.

I won't have any children with me. It will be me and my mother-in-law. Are there any vegetarian restaurants in the area? Any restaurants that you would recommend? What about transportation.....bus, train, car?????
