View Full Version : Vitex and pregnancy?

Hi,

I just found yesterday that I am pregnant. I started taking 400 mg of Vitex a week or so ago because I spotted for 12 days mid-cycle this cycle and 10 days last cycle. Last cycle I had an early miscarriage so now I'm worried I will have another one! I'm not sure what caused all the spotting and I won't be seeing my new OBGYN until the 7th. So should I continue to take Vitex? Or should I stop? If I should continue, how much?

DH isn't so sure I'm pregnant this time around because of the early miscarriage last cycle. He won't believe the tests until it's confirmed by a doctor.

My understanding is that you should discontinue Vitex after you get a :+

Maybe contact herblore.com - I hear she does great customer service!

Thank you so much for your response! I did stop Vitex once I saw my BFP yesterday because I was not sure.

I also stopped vitex when I became pregnant with DS2. My naturopath said it should only be used until the BFP, then to discontinue. I ended up with a very healthy baby boy :)

I saw your post on the TTC section-- I saw your test. Tell your DH that those at-home tests are actually harder to get a + on than at the doctor . . .false positives are extremely rare.

Thank you Elena! When is your due date? An online calculator has my due date as March 7th. I've never been pregnant in Chicago so the winter is going to be interesting. My last pregnancy was spent in NC where it never really gets too cold!
