So I had an apt this morning. I had a high BP reading, and was feeling cruddy in general, so they sent me over to L&D to get monitered and tested for a bit... Turns out I am severely anemic, severely dehydrated (though I've been drinking like a freakin fish!), I had a few other high BP readings, and the baby's fluid is low. SO, based on all that, I have to do a 24 hour urine analysis and have an induction date at 6am on Monday... I am REALLY hoping to go on my own this weekend and avoid the pitocin, but we'll see... Oh, and when I go in they're going to prep me for a possible blood transfusion since I'm so anemic.... fun, huh? Wish me luck! (Lord knows I'll need it!!!)

I know it's the weekend, but if you can, find an acupuncturist who is willing to try to induce. If it works, it would be helping you body to start labor itself, instead of the pitocin artificially starting labor.
I tried it with ds, but because of where we live, I couldn't get the treatment when I should have, and it usually needs two treatments, and I couldn't get in for the second in time. I had no amniotic fluid left, so the midwife's back-up dr. induced. But what has always bugged me is that when they put me on the monitor at the hospital, it showed I was having regular contractions. I've always wondered "what if" I had been able to have the second treatment a day earlier. I'll never know, but if this one goes late (God forbid), I'm definitely going to talk to my acupuncturist much sooner than 2 weeks post date!
Good luck with this! Sounds scary. I hope you get the help you need and everything turns out well (you and baby healthy!).
