A week ago I thought I lucked out this time around by not having morning sickness. Well for the past week it has slowly been creeping up on me. I do not feel like doing much or eating. I also get dizzy almost everytime I stand up. I am trying to force water down my throat but it's not easy. I'm also starting out this pregnancy 10 pounds lighter then my first and I'm sure I'll lose more weight at this rate. I'm on the low end of my ideal weight right now.
Anyway I feel icky. Anyone else? And does anyone know what might be causing all my dizziness? The OB I saw just told me to eat more, that's easier said then done though.

Yeah, I there with you. I was just commenting two nights ago to DH that the nausea is delayed compared to my last pg. I had felt pretty darn good up to that point (I can deal with bloat, crampiness, weepiness, but I *hate* nausea). Well, I woke up at 4:00 AM feeling absolutely terrible, and spent some quality time with our toilet :inthet

Since then I have been nauseated off and on. One by one things I normally love to eat have been seeming really gross and unappealing. This is a problem because we own a share of a CSA, and I have no interest in preparing or eating all those veggies we got last week (and will be getting next week, and the next week...).

Yeah, but mine is a little different. I get really hungry and then I cant eat too much and then I get naseau from eating. Then two hours later Im starving again. And not to mention the loss of consentration.

I feel like crap. I also have a houseful of terrific fresh food from my CSA and our garden that's all going to waste because not only do I not have any appetite at all, but I can't even stand to cook. The smell of EVERYTHING makes me gag. The only thing I can eat at all has been GrapeNut flakes and fresh peaches, and plain yogurt. But if I don't eat, I get woozy and dizzy. I'm tired, I have heartburn, my boobs are killing me, and I'm so irritable. My poor DD thinks I've gone nuts. I can't even change diapers anymore. Every time she poops, I hurl. It's terrible.

So yeah I'm there too.

Never expected it; I had such an easy time with DD.

I talked to my ND yesterday (already had an appt set up from when we thought we would be talking about TTC!), and she mentioned that the dizziness can be a symptom of adrenal fatigue. I had just done testing at 6dpo (so JUST before I was pregnant), and had low cortesol levels and probable adrenal fatigue. She suggested getting adequate rest, reducing stress, increasing protein, reducing carbs and especially gluten, and supplementing with vitamin C and a high b5 b-complex, as those vitamins support the adrenals in producing adequate cortesol. Meditation, conscious relaxation, massage, and acupuncture can all help too, although who has the time or the money?

Dizziness is also related to anemia (which I have, slightly) and dehydration (which I have, slightly, as suddenly the water here doesn't taste good to me any more).

Hope that helps some! I don't feel too icky, just tired, dizzy when I stand up, and nauseas if it's been too long (like, oh, more than half an hour) since I've eaten.

Good luck with your weight - my SIL had just gotten up into her ideal range when she got pregnant, and lost 10 pounds in the first month or two. Her response was to drink a lot of shakes. She had hyperemesis gravidarum, though, throughout basically the whole thing. Anyway, it can be tough, I know. :hug

With DD, morning sickness didn't hit me till about 9 or 10 weeks.

But I've already spent some quality time with the toilet today. I didn't realize quite how far the bathrooms are from my desk at work! I lost my healthy breakfast, but so far I've managed to keep down some plain salted chips and some apple juice.

I've always heard that you should eat whatever sounds appealing to you when you're really struggling with morning sickness. Yes, you might subsist on plain salted chips for a few days, but at least you're getting something into your body.

YES! It just hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm 5 weeks today and damn! Up until now it was a couple of hours of ickiness in the late afternoon/dinnertime and that was it. Nothing so horrible that I couldn't deal with it. A few wintergreen tic tacs (shhh! crunchiness takes a backseat to nausea) and I'd be fine. Now I wish someone would put me out of my misery.

No nausea or barfiness yet, knock on wood. I've been having the same lovely "night-sickness" that I had with DD though. That is, after I eat anything in the evening, within half an hour I get horrible stomach cramps and gas pains and spend plenty of quality time sitting on the toilet.

Oh well, I'm just thankfull I'm not kneeling at the toilet...

Yea, and it's making me IRRITABLE with the boys. I stay up too late, so I go to bed kinda hungry, which means I feel sooooo nasty when I wake up that the thought of food makes me want to...well, you know. Yesterday my ds insisted that I make him an egg *right NOW*...which I did, w/o visiting the toilet, suprisingly -- then he didn't eat it for 2 hours. I was beyond angry. :rolleyes I just went grocery shopping and had to hold my nose and *run* past the seafood area; ICK. Then I bought California rolls, and they were bad. grrrrrrr. I have a feeling I'm going to be existing on random stuff... green olives (although I'll need another jar soon -- I just finished off almost 1/2 this one :bigeyes), salty chips, bottled water, saltines, chocolate, fresh (UNCOOKED!) veggies... all together, probably.

I guess it doesn't sound that bad, but then I have to feed the boys...(and the biggest boy :rolleyes).

I can see where my body is going with this -- I'm hating/adverse to "bad" stuff -- pizza, soda, greasy anything, cheese/dairy... most of the time, and craving fresh stuff -- but it's hard to fill up on that stuff.

Mostly I just spend my morning on the couch whining/hiding until noon or one when I start to feel better. Not today, though -- I've got a headache that's been "pending" all day, and all you have to do is say the wrong thing & I feel the bile start to rise. I also feel like I'm constipated, even though I "go" the same amount as usual, I feel like I need to go every time I use the bathroom. Very annoying when kids are pestering me in the lou all the time anyhow.

On top of rampant nausea, (I can barely stand to read all the threads in here about foods), I have a terrible cold that makes it hard to breathe, sore throat and TIRED. Then yesterday, a spider or some other awful insect bit my butt!! and now I have a huge lumpy itchy welt on it.

I wish I could fast-forward time to end of August...

Count me in for the icky feeling sickness. :sick I do not feel horrible yet, meaning that I have only gotten sick a couple of times, but constantly feeling like I might be. and horrible heartburn, and nothing looks good to eat, and my tummys all icky too. feels not so great- but its tolerable. ginger and sour candys seem to help a little. Im sure it will get a bit worse in a couple of weeks.

Well, yes and no, which has me worried! I got MS right before I hit 6 weeks, which is really early for me . . .but it has tapered off a LOT and I am only 7 weeks now. So, of course I am worried!

My hunger is still going strong (which exists with or without morning sickness, so I gain weight fast during the first trimester) . . .I am hoping that means all is well.

omg. feel. so. sick.

All I want to eat is a piece of bread but I can't have that because I'm allergic to wheat. :(

MamaCAS, I'm sorry about your butt. :innocent

Well, I'm due March 22nd, so I'm 5 or 6 weeks now, and I feel great! I never usually vomit anyway, just tired, occasional nausea, occasional headaches, and frequent peeing...so far I've just got the frequent peeing. I hope nothing's wrong...or tomorrow I'll just get slammed for walking around all smug, and I'll be on my a## on the couch...I'm not even craving anything, just wanting to eat EVERYthing all day long. Maybe it'll kick in soon, who knows.

If I'm not stuffing my face with something, food or water or tea, I'm feeling queasy. And gassy, oh my lord, does it hurt! Can your intestines pop from being so full of air? I swear even water gives me gas now.
