Hcg was still increasing as of Wednesday. Went from 2120 to 4143 in two days (so almost doubled:innocent). Bad news is that I wiped today and had regular brown/pink spotting. They already had me scheduled for an ultrasound this afternoon so I'm hoping there will be a little ficker :heartbeat!

:1praying: for a :heartbeat :heartbeat :heartbeat :heartbeat :heartbeat :heartbeat

Update 7/19:
Didn't see the heartbeat last Friday liked we hoped. Doctor couldn't even for sure make out a fetal pole, though the gestational sac was bigger than last ultrasound. Had another blood test and number went from 4143 to 7500 (didn't quite double in 2 days but doctor was not that concerned). Have to have another ultrasound in 2 days (this Friday) and doctor said she needs to see the heartbeat by then (I'll be 7 weeks). Still having a bit of spotting and hoping things will work out for the best. Thanks for all the support ladies! :grouphug

Hope it all goes well! I spotted very regularly (brown/pink) from weeks 7-10 in my last pregnancy and had a completely healthy and uneventful pregnancy otherwise... so I think it's pretty common. (I'm just at 5 weeks with this one, so we'll see what happens!)

I had lots of spotting with my second pregnancy. It's hard not to worry, I know how you feel. Keep your chin up!

At least it is brown and not bright red... :fingersx:
Let us know how your appointment goes.

Hi. Visiting from February due dates. I'm 10 weeks and just started to have some brown spotting over the last week. Everyone I consult and everything I read suggests that this is "not abnormal" to quote the physician's assistant I spoke with. I hope your appointment goes well! Please let us know what they say. I'm scheduled to go in on Monday when my doc is back from vaca just to make sure that all is okay.

I'm just over a 2+ week episode of spotting (I'm 32 DPO), including a little red and a small clot. It really is normal.

:hug I both hope and trust everything will be fine with you and yours.

Meggie, I just read your update and couldn't not post. You and I are experiencing the same thing, though I'm a few days behind you: I was 6 weeks yesterday and had the same results on my ultrasound.

I opted to not have another beta done yesterday, and I will go in for a repeat ultrasound on 7/28. I hope for the best results for the both of us... I stepped off this board last week and have been posting my updates in the ttc forum, on the 12+ thread, as we call it.

My heart really goes out to you - I sure know how it feels. Feel free to pm me if you need to talk.

:hug

I just wanted to send a note of encouragement -- I had early u/s with both my previous babies, one at 9 weeks, one at 7 weeks. Both time they could see the yolk sac, but no heartbeat, not even an embryo. They told me to schedule a follow up ultrasound, but to go home and prepare for a miscarriage. Both times they were able to see a heartbeat 7-10 days later. (Remember that one of the scans was at nine weeks.)

Some people just have anatomy that makes it heart to visualize with u/s. Also, I recently found out that bowel sounds interfere with an u/s ability to visualize, so having just eaten lunch can actually limit what they see. (Why don't they tell people that?) Chin up!

I hope that all is well and you get to see a nice strong heart beat.

A note about hcg and how long it takes to double. It can and does take longer for it to double in most healthy pg's. Here is the guide to doubling and hcg levels.

For HCG levels <1,200mIU/ml, the exected doubling time is 48-72 hours.
For HCG levels 1,200-6,000mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is 72-96 hours.
For HCG levels >6,000mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is >96 hours.
