Wooohooo! Were back! :banana How did everyone do during these past few days? Any new symptoms or developments? What did you all do (besides hitting refresh a lot :lol)?
Here's (http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=482262) last week's thread in case you need to catch up.
I for one am stoked that MDC is back up. I was having some major withdrawal. :bag: In the past few days I started feeling pretty darn pregnant. Even tossed some cookies yesterday and I think I see where my uterus might be trying to pop out. Oooh, and I bought some diapers and my sister dropped off the first installment of her Bugaboo that she's handing down to me. :duck: Can't wait to hear from everyone!

I picked up some Sea Bands to help with the nausea. I guess they help a bit, but they also really irritate my wrists, so I'm not wearing them constantly.
My son turned 4 yesterday! :balloons This also means that he's totally weaned, since I gave him until his birthday to stop nursing.
I made it through the family party without anyone asking if I was pregnant (though I think my foster sister suspects that my short haircut is a pregnancy cut, though I cut it before getting pregnant - she just hasn't seen me in a while.)
My grandma is psychic, so she knows I'm pregnant. I just won't give her the satisfaction of confirming yet. She keeps bugging me, though. And she even told me how far along I am. She also said I'm pregnant with a boy, though I feel like it's a girl - we'll just have to wait and see on that one!
My husband's being a jerk and not being very supportive. He's coming up with excuses to not be around in the evenings. I'd rather he not be here if he's going to be a jerk, anyway. Though, I could really use some help getting ready for the kids party on Saturday. I'm TIRED! Oh, well. I think everyone will survive if the bookshelves aren't dusted..

I hear you with the being tired thing. I am so exausted. Its getting very hard to sleep, but I am soooo sleepy.
My DD just had her 7th Birthday on monday so that was a lot of fun, and work:lol . She is growing up so fast!
I have been a little queezy, I am hungry, eat two bites and then I am stuffed. Also my pants are almost not buttoning now, I have to squeeze into them. I give myself about a week and then they will be in the pile of clothes I dont fit into. I think thats about it though. I have been doing pretty good all around.:thumb

Hi welcome back everyone! I got so behind last week I didn't even post in last week's chat thread.. I'm just tooooo sick! Wow, it's bad! I've got the sea bands/B6/ginger/etc thing going but yikes. Poor dd, she is really learning the art of entertaining herself -- and here's to hoping I still have a job after all this, and that my house won't be condemned from the horrendous mess that has developed. :lol It's really hard to go through this but I know it is so completely totally worth it and I'm blessed to be here. Vividly dreamed last night that I had a breech baby that I delivered myself after zero contractions, it was a boy, and he spoke in full sentences at one day of age. I'm not sure if I can use a dream like that to count as a "boy" vibe... but I think I will anyway.
Debi, happy birthday to your son. Our children are close in age. I was not even able to throw her the regular big thing this year, so tons of kudos to you for putting together the parties! Crazy about your grandma!! I am SO sorry about your husband!
Candi, happy birthday to your dd! Glad to hear things are going well!
Paisley, thanks for starting this thread! Sorry to hear you're feeling so sick; sure wish we didn't have to go through that part.

Glad to be back! I'm feeling considerably better about the prospect of having another baby, which is good. And definitely feeling pregnant. My constant need for food is unbelievable -- it's not just feeling a bit hungry, it's like, "If I don't get a cheeseburger RIGHT NOW, I am going to pass out." I've had this with both of my other pregnancies as well. It doesn't lead to a moderate pregnancy weight gain, let me tell you...

I'm still feeling very very sick. It also doesn't help that I ate some moldy strawberry jam that I instantly threw up yesterday! DH keeps asking if it's normal to be so sick. I'm pretty sure it is. I remember being sick with DD, I just don't remember how bad it was. He also keeps asking when I'll be better. I keep telling him in five weeks when my first trimester is over! And poor DD, I lay on the couch all day trying to entertain her the best I can. Getting up to do anything is so hard! Luckily my sister lives near by so she plays with her for a couple of hours a day. My sis and FIL are the only ones who know we are pregnant at this point.
I'm still getting super dizzy when I stand up. I kind of blackout for maybe 5 or 10 seconds where I have to hold on to something so I don't fall. I'm not sure why this is happening. I'm taking my vitamins but eating and drinking very little.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well!!!

Starting to feel more pregnant here too! SOOOOO tired and hungry, but feeling full after eating about half of a serving what I would normally eat. Gas cramps too (sorry, TMI)
Told IL's for MIL's birthday last week and they were super excited! Still haven't told my fam, including my sister that lives with us:duck: Waiting until this coming up weekend probably.
Yesterday was DH's birthday, he turned 21!:lol And decided he wanted to go to Hooters for his birthday dinner:irked: I don't really have a problem with Hooters, but I was not loving any of the food there so I got kind of cranky. He had four of his buddies go with us and they had a great time joking around and having their pictures taken with the waitresses.
Well, that's about it for me. We're boring:lol

Where's my link to here from last week's thread?? And what about an embryology progress report? SHEESH Paisley, can't you do anything right?!
:mischief
I'm so exhausted I'm WAY behind on my duties for the Babywearing Conference (http://www.babywearingconference.org). :hide: And nauseas, definitely, but no vomiting yet. knocks on wood
More later - I'll tell you about the continuing saga of moving all our stuff across an entire continent. Fun! :eyesroll For now, must go make lunch (before I pass out!).

Hi everyone!
I signed in on the roll-call thread, but haven't really written much of an introduction or anything - so here goes:
My name is Jodi, I'm 28, Dh is 31. We are pregnant with our first - an probably only bio child, but we plan to adopt later.
I am a teacher for at-risk pre-k kids for our county public schools.
This pregnancy is not going very well so far. I knew going into it that it may be difficult for me to even get pregnant (because I'm on meds for hypothyroid and a prolactin secreting tumor - but the tumor has been gone for a few years). Anyway, I started charting my temps about a year ago, and started TTC 2 cycles ago. My charts showed a probable Luteal Phase Defect/Progesterone deficiency - so I made an appt. with the RE for the end of my 2nd cycle. Got pregnant on our 2nd cycle. Infact I found out the morning of my RE appt. BUT I started spotting heavily that day and the doc did my HCG & prog. blood tests. My HCG was ok for being only 14 dpo, but my progsterone was only 3 when it should have been over 15.
SOOO. I spent all last week getting my arm poked -and being told the worst - that I may not have a fetus growing, and if I do it may be ectopic since my HCG numbers were only increasing at about %70 instead of %100.
I had another test on MOnday and my numbers are now increasing at %90, which is much better, and I have an appt. for an ultrasound on Friday to rule out ectopic. I'll be 5w4days then. I'm %99 sure I'm due on March 20.
Well that's my story, sorry it's long - and I hope i get to stay here!

I'm starting to feel pregnant! This morning I had MS, and I'be been feeling a bit queasy all day. I hope that it's not as bad as last time, but we'll see... I'm overall feeling much better than I was with DS, though!
I just put on my seabands a few minutes ago, I'll see how they work. They didn't at all last time, so we'll see. I'm up for trying anything, though. I really don't fancy :Puke -ing all 9 months again!

Hi All!
I can't believe how great I am feeling, (knock on wood). I'm only 5 weeks along, but it is weird. I was sooooo sick with my first DS by this point. I pretty much barfed for 13 weeks straight, then it dissapeared like clockwork. I feel totally normal at the moment.
My boobs feel totally the same too, (maybe b/c they have been tender right through from pre-preg from being pinched prodded and poked by still-nursing DS 2/12, and are always full from same...). The only symptom I've had is some tiredness, (but not like the bone-deep exhaustion with DS#1) and some slight abdominal cramping. Oh yeah, I did have awful heartburn today. No weird hunger though. My belly is verrrry bloated - can't get the pants done up!!! Arg! Why does our belly bloat at only 5 weeks?
It's so different from Pregnancy #1 that I've done 3 pregnancy tests to confirm I'm actually pregnant - another one today! They keep saying yes, but I'm almost skeptical. Well, I guess my period is really late too!
Glad to meet you all. I did find the sea bands helped a lot in Preg #1, and I found eating saltines crackers every 1/2 hour or so helped settle my tummy too. That and hot water with fresh lemon in it.
Hope you all are feeling better!!
Kathy.

Hi all! For someone who doesn't post much, it was surprising how much I missed "checking in" with you all. Nice instant community!
If I could describe how I feel in one word it would be--labile! One minute, I fine, the next starving, the next gagging, the next crying. How strange!
I had a few days of minimal symptoms over the weekend. Even though I know it is normal, certainly scared me. But the nausea has returned with a vengence. I was kind of glad to begin with, but now... I guess I need to be careful what I wish for! :)
On a different note, I have begun interviewing midwives. I have meeting scheduled at the local birth center and with a homebirth midwife. I am excited to start this journey. Anyone else with suggestions, comments regarding choosing? (Arwyn, I know that you were starting your interviewing process too. Any progress?)
Glad to be back!

Nope! I'm way behind. :lol
I have several names I want to call (including one semi-local MDC midwife), but I'm so crazy with the party I hosted this weekend (total success, btw!), the conference I'm helping with, going down to CA next weekend to see my dad with his new liver and my brother with his new daughter (well, "new" at nearly 3 months old now), the fact that all our stuff from Indiana was supposed to be here no later than today, and now looks like it'll come this weekend while we're gone, and has anyone mentioned complete exhaustion and significant nausea? Yea, I'm a little busy.
I told DP to do it, but at this point, I don't think we're interviewing anyone until mid-late August. Little later than I wanted, but oh well.
We do have a HUGE list of questions to ask, though, when the time comes. :)

I haven't checked in before. But i just joined this group a little over a week ago.
I knew I was pregnant before taking the test. The crampiness and heavy feeling. The crampiness has gone away. My nipples are a little sore, which makes nursing my 2 yr old interesting. It wouldn't be such a problem if she didn't play with the other side and do gymnastics while nursing. So we are implanmenting a few rules cuz I know it is going to bug me more as time goes on.
I have been tired. But I also have been trying to finish all these projects that I have started. It is going to take me 9 months to finish them. And I know I won't be able to touch them for a year afterwards.
But other than that, fine. Hungry at times. I was blessed with an EASY pregnancy first time around. Last one was nightmarish. But I know it is early for morning sickness. So just keeping my fingers crossed.
We are looking at interviewing midwives. But I am not sure when we are susposed to do this. Any thoughts?

Homebirth midwives generally love to talk to you as soon as you want to (many welcome preconception contact), although frequently they won't schedule the first official visit until 12 weeks or so, at which point a doppler can pick up the heartbeat, if you wish. Some will do earlier, baseline visits (which I'm fond of, as midwifery prenatal care is all about building relationship and providing nutritional and other counseling). But it depends mostly on what you want - I had planned to contact midwives rather earlier than this, just to make sure I got my first pick 'cause midwives around here fill up fast pretty regularly, but no one would be perturbed if I waited until much later.

I thought the clumsies weren't supposed to start for at least another month...
Today, I spilled my entire iced venti drink at starbucks before I could even get the straw in (hey, it wasn't coffee!), knocked it over again when it was half full (managed to mostly catch it that time), tripped about three times, and just now spilled my milk all over the table, partially on DP's work computer.
What the heck??

I am absolutely exhausted :zzz It doesn't help that DH has been out of town since Monday :(
My oldest is in day band camp so I have to drop him off every morning and pick him up in the afternoon. I worked out yesterday and my butt is soooo sore :irked: My toddlers are making me crazy :dizzy: My 11 year old had a night terror last night :( and was in my bed from 11-4 when the girls started invading then he left to go to his own room and is still sleeping, bless his heart.
My boobs are sore but that comes and goes. Fortunately, I am not super hungry, don't have many aversions yet and have not been nauseaus :thumb But I know it is still early, I am just hoping that it doesn't get too bad. With each of my children I had bouts of nausea but only barfed a couple of times.
I need to do my quarterly taxes today for the business and I am behind on customer orders but I am soooooo tired :zzz

Yeah, I am clumsy. Though I get insanely clumsy during my period and through out pregnancy. I told my husband that my life should now be taped and put on as a comedy show. A couple of days ago, I went to flip close my cell phone and it flew out of my hands hit the wall across the room and fell behind the couch. And then there was the funniness of seeing me trying to get it out again. I have also fallen UP our stairs more times than I can count.

Hi everyone, so glad we are back! It's been a rough last week for me. Lots of nausea as it seems many of us are experiencing. That combined with dw being out of town for 4 days and lots of work deadlines and none of my pants fitting led me to have a bit of an emotional turmoil. :gloomy: It was just a lot of stuff at once.
Thankfully, things are a bit better the past two days. I took two afternoons off to sleep (thank god) and the nausea is still there but I've found some things to eat that don't bother me as much. My work clothes not fitting was really upsetting (I haven't gained a pound but already look pregnant enough that people were noticing) so I'm already wearing maternity pants. They are a bit loose but at least more comfortable and flattering, which helps me not feel so ill and also feel better about body image stuff.
All normal stuff, I know. But kind of overwhelming. Starting to feel more connected with the baby though (not just pissed that I'm sick), which feels really good. :)

Doesn't it seem like life always gets the worst when our partners are gone? (In my case, nausea started when I had to fly to the other side of the continent.)

I was on vacation all last week when I found out I was pg, and dh wasn't with me, so I waited till I was home to tell him. I got home on Monday and told him. He is pretty exxcited about it though we weren't expecting it. My belly sure has popped out, I feel so fat, my pants barely fit. I don't think we will be able to hold off on telling people much longer because they will be able to tell soon, though I am surprised they havn't figured it out yet. So far I just feel fat and tired, and this morning I felt a bit queezy, and my lower back hurts, so not much to complain about.

Hey ladies! Glad to be back after hitting "refresh" over and over for the past few days!
I had an ultrasound today (had a previous ectopic preg and wanted to make sure Peanut here was in the right place). I'm measuring small but I'm not putting too much weight on the ultrasound measurements. I know exactly when I conceived and I'm nine weeks tomorrow. Not technically a March momma but DD I'm telling everyone early March anyway.

I'm jealous of all of you with your pants not fitting and your belly popping out. I bet mine won't be any different for almost 3 more months. I'm almost 7 weeks right now and I didn't show with my DD until I was four and a half months. I was in decent shape before that pg too, and now I've got flabby mom belly. I really want a preggo belly but I'm not expecting mine to show up any time soon.

I am sooo glad to be back! I am so tired still and beginning to get kind of sick feeling. :(

My pants are already a little uncomfortable...not a good sign.:irked:

The pants issue is a big one for me, too. Most of my pants are too tight. And, yesterday, a co-worker pulled me aside and asked if I was pregnant. She said my belly was "sticking out." I wanted to be mad at her--I'm only 6weeks!! But, she's right! It is sticking way out! Can't shoot the messanger of the truth, right?
Beth, I feel for you re: work clothes. I am not ready to be "out" at work. And, while I am feeling more connected to this baby, I am not ready to give up all my clothes.

No symptoms as of yet. Maybe a bit tired, but other than that ... nothing. I didn't get any real m/s with ds, so hopefully I'll be as lucky this time. Oh, and a note to self.... do NOT eat kimchee while pregnant! Ugh, that gave me quite an upset stomach today. :(
Oh, and I get to tell the IL's this weekend! It's FIL's b-day party and I can't wait!!

I'm seeing my parents (mom knows), my brother and SIL and new niece, my aunt, my pseudo aunt and uncle (none of them know), and practially the whole world this weekend because we're having an open house to meet the niece, and celebrate my dad's new liver. I'm REALLY hoping we can keep it secret still!
It'll be hard, though, because it'll be the first time I see my mom, my bestest best friend/pseudo sister, or her mom since they found out, and all I really want to do is go to tea with the three of them and spend hours gabbing about it. :lol But we'll all have to be very, very mum. Good luck on that...

My nausea is coming & going -- but my fatigue & irritation levels are waaaaaaaaaay up there. :irked: Yesterday dh took the boys to the mall (play area & train table at barnes & noble) and stayed for 2 hours, then drove around an extra 5-10 minutes so they were asleep...heaven...absolute heaven. I cannot remember when I've last had an entire evening to myself. It was a beautiful thing. ;) :D
I met with a midwife today -- I was all geared up to not like her, (because of someone else's comments) but then I did! I'm hopeful now, as she is quite near to me (15 minutes) and is really, super laid back. As in come by & check on me in labor, then leave for hours unless I want her near. :D None of this rushing stuff with herbs & homeopathics like Aiden's (c/s) birth.
When it comes to my belly -- it doesn't look any different, but the mommy flab is moving around & I can feel hard belly way down low. It's making my jeans uncomfortable too. It's also making me feel, well heavy. It's like my body is resigned to being squished about this time & said "okay, lets just move everything out of the way now." I'm already experiencing slight discomfort/breathlessness when I lay on my back, and that bowling ball (okay, not bowling ball yet -- maybe a heavy orange?) sitting on my bladder/lower organs. Good grief -- I'm only (almost) 8 weeks! Geeez! :lol
Anywho, that's how things are here... and the boys are now both asleep, so I get to have the evening to myself (dh is out rollerblading w/ his bro tonight). Of course I need to pay the bills & balance the checkbook...for the last two months (errr...the checkbook -- I haven't gotten THAT far behind on the bills! :lol).

I can't get over how tight my pants are. With my first, I barely showed for a few months, now i'm only 5 weeks along and suddenly my pants won't do up??? What the heck??? It can't seriously be something growing in my belly, it is just too small isnt' it? If it is just bloating, would lots of water help?
Argh! I am not ready to wear maternity clothes yet, (too obvious) can't wear my normal clothes, (too tight) and don't want to have to buy a whole third wardrobe for the next 2 months....(esp cause I have to wear suits at work).
What is everyone else doing for clothes right now? Anyone else have to wear dressy clothes but find yours too tight?

My MS is in full effect all day. I am trying to eat small, low carb meals/snacks all day which is helping. I haven't :Puke yet, but I feel like I could.
I went to the doc and had an US because of due date/growth issues. My new due date has been pushed back to March 5th, much closesr to what I though than what my doc thought. I was happy to be vindicated because my doctor was ready to induce me last time two weeks early. I was not interested in the slightest and I didn't want the same pressure this time. I know they will be pushing for it if I go even a day over 40 weeks.

I'm already in maternity clothes. Well, maternity shorts and capris, anyway. I'm wearing oversized t-shirts to cover up the belly area, so no one can tell they're maternity clothes.
That probably doesn't help with the whole dressy clothes thing, though. Sorry!

Kathy -- I think there is a belly band type thing you can wear over (non zipped up) too small pants. It's like a tube top, but you put it over the front of your open pants & around the small of your back -- then your pants stay on & a slightly longer top will cover it... Good luck -- I'm wanting to invest in an entire wardrobe of loose long skirts & comfy shorts, but we can't afford it right now. I guess I need to get out some fabric & make myself something, huh.
eta: could you buy some plain maternity (below the belly, maybe) dress pants to wear with your work clothes? With your regular tops it might not be noticeable & they'd be wearable all through. I *love* below the belly pants & shorts. :D

So i was working on a set of a commercial on monday and it was pretty hot.
Only two days had passed since i knew i was pregnant. The wardrobe lady comes up to me and goes Oh honey are you ok? And i say, yea why? She points at my belly and says-well the baby, and its so hot-and i say You can tell Im pregnant? and she goes Well yea!
And i said hm How far along do you think I am? and she goes Hmmm 7 months?

and i go No, im 2 weeks.

All this talk of tight pants inspired me to post a picture of me at 8 weeks (today). I have no way to prove it to y'all, but 6 weeks ago, my tummy curved the OTHER way. :lol

I stood up from sitting the other day, and my dd got this amazed, wide-eyed look... came over to me, lovingly put her hand on my tummy, and gasped "Momma! The baby's big enough to come out now!"
:lol
I've been in maternity clothes for weeks.

Hiya gals! Glad to have MDC back!!!!
Well, I'm approaching 6wks. Not too much in the way of symptoms. My bb's are sore and I'm somewhat more tired than usual. No nausea... yet.
I had an eventful preggo-paranoia week. First of all I thought I had been exposed to rubella (I'm not immune). But I wasn't. Phew.
Then today I ended up driving through a cloud of pesticides when I drove past a farm. Still freaking out about that one...
And it turns out my ob is on vacation and doesn't get back until I'm on vacation so I won't get to see her until my 2nd tri. I know it doesn't really make a difference, but since my mc I would feel better seeing her a bit earlier.
That's me in a nutshell. lol. Hope everyone is doing fabulously! :hug

Hey! Let me introduce myself. I just found out I am pregnant with #4! I think I am about 5/6 weeks along- with a vasectomy baby!
No symptoms so far except a bad case of zits. I hope my milk supply doesn't drop.
Good luck and congrats to all you other mommas!
Hey ladies!
I'm 8 weeks now, things are going good. I feel a lot better this pregnancy than my last, but I'm not feeling great by any stretch. Same stuff, lack of appetite, nausea when I don't eat, food aversions, and spotty fatigue. Also getting up several times per night and sleeping restlessly because I'm just so sore in bed...going to start chiro care soon, this is just awful.
I have to be much more mindful of my belly these days when I bend over and do things I normally do...I end up squishing my belly and it hurts quite a bit when I do that! Even leaning up against the kitchen counter...
None of my pants fit either and DH can feel my lump when we hug. I'm in gaucho pants and maternity shorts, oh and my fav baby doll dresses are sooooo comfortable.
I finally took a leap out of my comfort zone and called the homebirth midwife that I intend on using. We have a consult scheduled in two weeks. Am I really on my way to having my HBAC?
Glad MDC is finally back up!! Missed this group so much!

I havn't been able to catch up on this thread yet.
Astromom - what a great pic. You do look pregnant! I know second time mothers show sooner then first timers because we're already stretched down there or something.
I had my first appointment with my midwives yesterday. It went so well. We chatted and caught up for about 30 minutes and then got down to business. We decided my due date is March 18th instead of the 16th, even though I know when I O'd. This just gives me a little time towards the end of my pregnancy, and if i got a little earlier, we can just pull my charts back out and say, hey, you know what? I actually O'd two days earlier so its fine! ;)
They took blood and we just talked about my first baby, mostly.
Glad to hear you are all mostly doing well.

shalena, so glad your appointment went well!!
LadyInfidel, welcome and congratulations! What a surprise!!
Tika, aw, sorry you're not feeling so great. :(
pianojazzgirl, I would have freaked out about the pesticide too!!! :hug I hope you can find solace in the fact that it was a one-time exposure... but I understand being concerned!!
I am not feeling too bad -- last night was alright and today is ok-ish so far. I will actually be trying to get things accomplished today!
Take care, you all!

Astromom, you have the cutest little belly!
If you click on "Peanut" in my siggy you can see my 8 week belly. I never get the cute little bulge of baby, I get round and just look fat.

No nausea yet but I will be 6 weeks tomorrow so we will see. My gut definately feels swollen and tender and the pants are getting uncomfortable. Dh and I are going to 2 concerts this weekend and I keep having visions of puking everywhere lol. People will just think I had too much beer so no biggie if I do.

So, I had a dream last night that I was having an affair with Spike Lee. :scratch
My son's birthday party was yesterday. It was mostly rained out, but we got some outside time in. Since we planned a messy party, the outside part was kinda important - like the whole theme of the party. I can't believe that his birthday party got rained out two years in a row! In JULY! At least he had fun.
Today we'll be telling DS that I'm pregnant. And then we'll figure out a way to have him spread the word to other family members.

lol! When I was pg with Djuna I always had wacko dreams (often about having affairs with various guys!) in the first tri.

My pregnancy dreams always seem to involve sleeping with an ex or my DH's brother :0 Never Spike Lee though, that is an interesting one!
