FREE Doula Services in NY Capital District

Founded on the premise that childbirth should be an empowering experience, Sage Femme Doulas are dedicated to supporting women and their loved ones before, during and after childbirth....
Hi, ladies! help me spread the word around the Capital District! I am a birth doula, trained through DONA and ALACE, living in Troy, NY. In an effort to gain more birth experiences to prepare myself to become a midwife, I am offering FREE Doula Services to moms in the capital district.
These services include at least 3 prenatal visits, continuous care and support during labor and delivery, massage, educational/informational support, breastfeeding help, referral to other agencies and providers and at least 2-3 postpartum visits. As your doula, I am your on-call support system 24/7.
Recent controlled trials involving over 1,000 women demonstrate that the presence of a professional labor support person results in:
50% decrease in cesarean section
25% decrease in length of labor
30% decrease in forcep deliveries
40% decrease in use of pitocin
60% fewer requests for epidurals
30% decrease in use of pain medication
