I guess I should go first...
I have been ttc since March. We m/c in April and finally got a BFP yesterday. We have a 3.5 yo DD who will be SO excited when we tell her - I am waiting as long as I can because I don't think I could explain a m/c to her.
I am planning a homebirth, possibly a waterbirth, with DH catching. DD's birth was an emergency induction at the hospital and I want something much better this time. I had a waterbirth planned then.
My due date is March 30/31, but I will probably hang out here because DD was born at 41.5 weeks.
Nice to meet all of you!

I am Carolynn. I am due early April, planning a homebirth with really minimal intervention, and have two kids 6 and 8 already. I *did* tell them and they were excited. I took my son to the webiste, the Visible Embryo, and we went through fetal development together. That was neat.
I am an actively practicing midwife who attends 60-90 births per year in both home and hospital, with about a 50/50 split. Being pregnant and a midwife is interesting. I like the access to info and resources I have, but sometimes it would be nice to have a little less knowledge of all of the things that can become complicated.
My first birth was a planned homebirth/waterbirth at 39 weeks but ended up being a transfer to hospital after a very long labour and very thick meconium. It ended up being a good thing because while my son was born vaginally and had no problems with the mec, I bled a tremendous amount (2000cc) and was a hair's breath away from a hysterectomy. I had a rough postpartum being tired, learning to breastfeed, and learning how to cope with a demanding baby and with very few physical reserves after the bleed. Oh, and he was over 10 pounds.
My next birth was a homebirth with a fairly normal labour, no bleeding, and a lovely postpartum. She was 8 lbs 9 oz and born a week after her due date.
So, we shall see what this one brings!

ok I will go next, ready for a novel lol. I am due early april.
I am Tamara, I am 32 years old and dp and I have been together for almost 15 years now. We have 6 beautiful children.
My first was a hosiptial birth it was awful. I was in labour for more than 34 hours, I was 18 and very uneducated on pregnancy and birth. I was naive and did what ever the dr's said , including having demoral(sp?) for pain and an epidural.
Number 2 was another hosiptal birth, different dr and different hosiptal, but was still hell lol, shorter labour this time, only 12hrs, and i also had and epidural.19years old and sill naive.
Number 3 is my very special child, had her at a hosiptal again, this time no pain meds, but she had problems from the start, she stopped breathing a 2 days old and had many seizure, today she is a beautiful little girl who has CP
Number 4 was and induction in a hosiptal because of high blood pressure ( it wasnt really too high, but i think the dr was mad and just wanted to induce me because of some meds i didnt want to take(long story) I started to get a back bone by now lol
By birth 5 I had enough and decided i needed a change, i did some research and decided to go with a midwife in a hosiptal, it was beautiful birth fast, and wonderful, i was home hours after she was born, i walked out of the hosiptal, and the nurses at the front said it didnt even look like i had just given birth lol
Baby 6 was also with a wonderful midwife at the hosiptal, this time labour was longer than i expected, but still wonderfull. My midwives were very supportive, and the after care was wonderful. They are amazing caring people :D
For this baby i want sooooo bad to have a water birth at home, little intervention as possible, so we will see what happens

Hey, y'all! I'm Elizabeth (35). DH (31) & I have been married for just over 3 years and have an almost-2-y/o daughter, Fiona. I'm an admin assistant & dh is a delivery driver, getting ready to go to welding school. We live outside of Savannah and are getting ready to break ground on a new house. We decided to start ttc#2 in May, mostly because I was seriously starting to feel the biological clock and we didn't want our kids to be spaced too far apart.
We wanted a homebirth with dd, but it didn't happen and I had a pretty interventive labor/delivery in which I NARROWLY avoided a c/s. She was 10 lbs. 9 oz., which totally and completely freaked out the medwives/obs. :rolleyes
I pretty much insisted on a homebirth this go 'round :thumb and I'm SO EXCITED!!!

Officially joining! I hope my best friend checks her email before catching me on here!!!
I am Shelley, my dh is Jason, and I have two kiddos from my previous marriage, Addie (dd 5) and Riley(ds almost 4)
We have quite successfully TTA for over a year now, and I was actually worried with how successfull we were so I convinced dh to stop TTA, but not TTC. Just be open to life so to speak. Well, I honestly thought it would take more than ONE cycle, considering we had 2 or 3 months here and there where we could have gotten preg by mistaking my O date, or just "not caring" that month. Seriously this cycle looks so much like those other months I am just shocked that it actually happened.
So dh is freaking and wiggin out right now, but he will be ok. We told my parents, and the IL last night. We actually told the kids about 30 minutes before we told everyone else, because we knew they wouldn't be able to keep a secret! We were right, just the few minutes I asked them to keep it quiet they were bursting at the seams. :lol
Hi Elizabeth! I have to tell you, Bodhi is one of the only names dh actually likes that I have run by him...
So Hi all! Hope this club gets full!
Hi, I'm Jes! I'm due around April 4 with my second child. I have a 19 month old son who is still nursing. This was a major surprise for us, and we are excited beyond all belief.
I had a natural med-free birth at a hospital with my son, but this time I am exploring the options. I had gestational diabetes in my last pregnancy so I am hoping this time will be okay.
It's amazing being part of a group here. I wasn't part of MDC when I was pregnant with DS.

Hi, I'm Wendy in St. Louis, MO. I'm due April 5 (5 days before my 29th birthday). I have two DDs. Nadia is turing 7 and Sophie is 2 1/2. I just got remarried two weeks ago (also conception date). This will be my husband's first. I think he's freaking out a little. He's been in a "go go go" kind of mood. Hope it lasts!

hi mamas!
i'm jennifer, 36, married to dan, with 20 month old hazel. this was our first cycle trying after an accidental pregnancy and miscarriage 3 months ago; i'm due on april 3, i think. it still seems not-quite-real, but we're working on that by saying "aiee! we're pregnant!" to each other all the time. i'm sure it'll sink in soon. we're really happy, and hoping this one sticks!
we're hard-core homebirthers, so we'll more than likely be doing that again. hazel was big (10.3) and i tore quite a bit, so i'm hoping to grow a slightly smaller baby this time and take more measures to prevent tearing and "breathe the baby out," if possible! i also have a split of my rictus abdominus muscles, so i welcome any tips anyone has for minimizing discomfort and exacerbation of *that* fun.
okay, that all sounds very complainy, but i really am experiencing big joy! hi!

i'm jenny, have a 4yodd and 2.5yo ds. we were TTA using FAM, not sure about having more bbs or not, so this is quite a surprise to us :lol but we are getting excited! baby is due april 7, but both of my others came at least 2 weeks early, we'll see if the trend continues. both our other babes were born at home, pretty easy births, and we're planning the same for this one. we hope we can get a mw friend to come because we live overseas in a developing country (my husband works in the medical field here). i am a mw (not currently practicing) and would really prefer to have a mw than to do uc ourselves, but we'd choose that over going somewhere here.
my ds is still nursing, just 1-2x a day and i've been inclined to do clw with him, but i had to wean dd at just 18mos because bfeeding was excruciating while pg with ds and i was having some minor preterm labor issues, so we'll see how continuing to bfeed works this time.

Hi Mamas, I'm Michelle (37), dh is 39, and our dd is 9 1/2yrs. My due date (from ovulation) is April 6 but I don't put much weight on due dates (don't remind me I said that when April 6 comes and goes). We've been ttc since last January. I got pregnant in Feb. and miscarried in May. I'm very happy to be back and hope for :sticky.
We always thought dd would be an only child. After all, we are all happy. But something clicked and baby fever kicked in for dd and me. :lol Luckily dh came around too and he's just as gung-ho about a second baby as we are.
So here we are. :jumpers:

Hey guys, I am still here. I am due 04/02. I had 2 m/c in 08/05 and 12/05. I am hoping for a healthy 9 months. I have a very spirited 4 year old ds and a very independent 2 year onld dd. I will be here and in the march ddc because I usually deliver early. I look forward to getting to know you all! Congradulations to everyone! :jumpers: :jumpers: :jumpers:

Hi!
I am 27 years old, and have a 2.5 year old dd who is still nursing (around the clock, it often seems). This was our first cycle TTC, so I'm pretty surprised and thrilled to get a positive sign on my test this morning. I expect the due date will be around April 8th.
Nice to meet you all!

Hello!
I'm Julia, 26, H is Erik who's 31 or something. Heee. Anyway, we've been trying for 5 months and just got the faintest BFP in all the land. But it was pink and it was definitely there. Due date April 8th.
I live in San Diego. I put pictures and a chart link in my other post in the Welcome Mamas thread ;-).
I'm trying so hard not to be completely giddy and be more cautious. We'll see how long that lasts.
Other news: I'm vegan and will most likely raise a vegan kid until they're old enough to ask for like, cheese, or something. We'll likely do cloth diapers as much as we can, but we're going to have to be flexible I think. Hopefully we'll go all-natural on the birth, too. But probably in a hospital because I work for a non-profit and beggars can't be choosers with the health insurance options. I think that's about everything I have an opinion on... so far.
Welcome everyone!

Hi!
I am Renee, helpmeet to Forrest for over 10 years. Crunchy, AP, HS, BF, non-vaxing, organic SAHM to Brittany (10), Madalynn (4), David (2)...still nursing and due with #4 on April Fool's day 2007.
I am excited to meet all of you. I will chat more later.
I am doing LOTS of planning for this pregnancy as I have had hyper-emesis (extreme pregnancy sickness) with all the rest of mine. So I only have a week or 2 until I may be in bed full time for months.
Blessings,
Renee

HEY HEY MAMAS!
Well, I'm knocked up. WOOHOO!:thumb
This was our first cycle TTC, after a few months of not TTC but not TTA. I went crazy the past few months thinking for sure I was pregnant.
Well, here I am! Got my BFP this morning. It's faint, but definitely a positive. I'm exactly 14 DPO today. My EDD is April 8th, Easter Sunday, but my first two were born at 39 and then 38.3 weeks. May be a March babe.
I LOVE being pregnant and I'm so excited. I just hope I'll remember that in about 8 months when I'm begging for baby to come out.
I'm looking forward to doing a lot of chatting with you ladies!

Coming over from the March DDC...hope you don't mind! :innocent I realized today that by the time I deliver most of my pals in the March DDC will be gone with their new babies and most likely not hanging around to help me through my last couple weeks. :lol Besides, I know some of ya from the one thread and the 6+ month support thread and I want to keep in touch! Oh, and I'm also telling most people IRL that I'm due in April so I don't get a bunch of people constantly asking, "So, you haven't had that baby yet, huh?!?" No use going to jail from beating the crap out of them! :lol
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Colleen, 33, DH is 38 (oops, had to think about that for a second there :o ) My EDD is March 28th, but I have this really strange feeling I'll deliver around my b-day, April 10th (yikes...that's two weeks later!) This is our first, and most likely only, so s/he better be the cream of the crop! :lol So much pressure and s/he isn't even born yet!
Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

This is EXACTLY why I joined the April DDC - plus, I will proably deliver a bit after the due date. I hated being on eof the last in my Jan 03 DDC (Not on MDC) delivering, even though DD was due January 14:irked:

Welome Collen,
I am new to the thread :). I am due April 1st with our 4th child.
You are doing great by telling everyone you due date is later....since NORMAL pregnancy is 38-42weeks we really should have due dates at 42 weeks and not 40.
My first was born at 39 weeks due to PROM, failed induction (failure to WAIT) and via c-section. My 2nd was born a hospital VBAC at 42 1/2 weeks (hehe). My 3rd was a home VBAC at 39 weeks & 6 days. I don't expect my 4th to be much different......so April it is for me. :)

Hello April Mamas!
My name is Tree, and I am due at the beginning of April. My partner and I are very excited, but feeling some anxiety about the task of parenting that is before us! This is our first.
I would love to have a home birth, but live in a community with no midwives and will be travelling almost 2 hours to another community for midwife visits (my first visit is in a few weeks!). We have some friends in that community and maybe as time goes on, we will propose that we stay with them and birth at their home.
For me, the idea of family beds, breast-feeding, natural birth options etc. are just common sense! There has been no question in my mind!

Howdy all!
I'm just in the process of confirming this pregnancy. (This is my third time being pregnant in the last 11 months, so staying pregnant is a real issue.)
I'm due April 7th, and so far, things seem pretty strong! This will be our second child (DS Conor was born 7/11/04). I'm an older mother and a professor. it makes life both fun and challenging.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in our month!!

This is Kelsi. I'm logged in on DH's account. My mothering account is acting up :dizzy: so I cannot edit the first post right now, sorry. I'll do it as soon as my account is back in business.

:wave Hello mamas! I'm Katie, married with 3 children and I just got a bfp last night. The line was light but a line is a line :D I think I'm only about 12 dpo so I am going to retest asap. I think that with the length of my cycles that would make me due around April 8th.
I'm excited but a little nervous since this will be #4. I guess telling my family is what I am scared of. Sounds silly but they all seem to think that 3 is plenty! I know they will be happy after the initial shock wears off. :lol
Congrats to all the April 2007 mamas!!! :love

I guess I will be joining you guys. I am 11 dpo today and got a faint but definately there line. Not a planned pregnancy per say. We weren't avoiding though so we expected it anytime. We mentioned it to my 3 yo ds tonight and he wanted to touch my belly and he said I can feel the baby. And he wants to see the baby come out. He is so cute. DD is just over a year so she doesnt really know yet. Dh was happy. Our families will be shocked. We are telling them soon. This will be our second homebirth. We had thought about unassisted but DH is more comfortable with our midwife here. And she is soo hands off that I am fine with that. Hopefully in the next few days I will get a darker line. Congrats to everyone else that is here.
Oh dd would be april 13th

I' m here too!
I just found out and I guess I am due around April 11, although my babies usually bake two extra weeks. I'm a little nervous because Easter is April 8 next year and my husband is a pastor.
This will be my fifth pregnancy, fourth baby. I have a 7-year-old boy (MIchael), a five-year-old girl (Katie Grace), and an almost-3-year-old boy, Nicholas.
I'm very nervous.

Good Morn'n Mamas!!!
i'm Christy- 36 yr old mom of 2 girls-- Machaela (age 9) and Mackenzie (age 4)--My first was a C-section and i had nightmares afterward and said i never would have another-- it was an awful birth but a beautiful, healthy child--i was induced 2weeks early due to pre-eclampsia and she was already 8.5 pds then --my 2nd (unplanned) was a VBAC - very painful but much much much better than the c/s-- but she had mec. so i didn't get to hold her until later on--also i used a midwife with the vbac but in the birthing center of the hospital--she was also induced but because she wasn't ready to come out until after due date--
i'm hoping to have a vbac again and with a midwife again--
my estimated due date using the ovulation date method is 4/13/07 and according to the LMP it is 4/8/07-- i'm hoping it's closer to the 13th because i'm supposed to be in my sister-n-law's wedding on 4/8th and being my dh is too- i'm hoping she doesn't hate me when we tell her!

Hi, I am almost 37, have an 8 month old daughter, and am freaked out about being pregnant so soon. We weren't using any birth control, and were not being careful, and I even wanted to get pregnant, because I am going to Busines School next year, and when I finish will be 40, and won't want to have a baby then. But now that I am, I am FREAKED! I am mostly worried about my daughter getting enough attention. I feel selfish for putting a time schedule on a baby. But I promise I will get over all of this, and will find the humor somewhere, which is usually my mode of travel. When we have moved and settled into our new house, I think that I will settle down a bit. I am nursing, and have just started introducing solid foods. All organic, of course. The Baby Book is my bible.
It is nice to meet you all. I remember last year at this time, it was my first pregnancy, and there were so many unknowns! It was such an exciting time. Having my daughter was the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me, even though the birth turned out to be a marathon. I will never forget the first time I heard her voice, and felt her tiny little slippery body and held her against my bare chest. They put us in the bathtub together right after the cord was cut and I gave her her first bath. I will never forget that. It still brings tears to my eyes. It is an amazing journey, and our bodies will do all kinds of crazy things, like grow little skin tags, or our hair will all fall out. As long as we drink lots of water and get lots of sleep, we will be fine! (ha ha! what is sleep?)

Hi everyone!
I'm Nancy, I'm so excited to be on this board now...I used to always lurk at the TTc board... I got a BFP at 14 DPO last Monday. So I'm 5 weeks pregnant...so excited! I'm still testing every morning b/c I can't believe it (thank you, whoever on MDC who posted about those Dollar Tree tests!)
I'm due early April and this will be my first :bouncy

:w everyone and congrats on your BFP!
Please please please check the original post to make sure I have your name and the time of month you are due. I am considering early April as April 1-9, mid April as April 10 - 19, and late April as April 20 - 30. March/April is any date at the end of March and April/May as early May dates. There is some crossover of course because some people tend to deliver early or late.
If your dates or circumstances change, let me know and I will change the original post. Also, if you deliver in another month, you are still more than welcome to post here.
Enjoy and have a happy and healthy 9 months!

Hi my name is Anita, I am married to Russ and we have 2 girls Kate (3.5) and Grace (2). We weren't actively TTC but we weren't trying to avoid either. My guestimate of a due date is April 11th, but I hope to go a bit earlier. This will likely be our final baby, though we might be open to adoption at a futre date.
We were undecided whether we wanted a third child yet or not, so we decided to stop avoiding and see what God brought us. I guess we were more ready than we thought. We definitely look at this child as a blessing. We're having a little problem with family seeing it differently, but poo on them.
I'm happy for all of you and I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Ladies!
My name is Kimberly, I live in Oregon. My husband and I have been together for 8 years, married for 3 years and we have 2 kids. We just found out last weekend that we are expecting baby # 3and are very very surprised. We weren't expecting to get pregnant because I'm still breastfeeding our 1 year old and we were using preventative measures :thumb (condoms) so we didn't expect this at all!:dizzy: My due date is being estimated as either late March or early April, but we don't know yet because my period wasn't regular yet since having my last child. I have my first ob appointment tomorrow and will probably get a vaginal ultrasound to find out how far I actually am..exciting!
Oh, I don't feel good....I'm sure some of you can relate:violin

Hello! My name is Barbara and I live in Japan with my DH and two wonderful children, age 5 and almost 2. I just found out this morning I am pg and am a little overwhelmed with the information. I actually had an appt for an IUD next week and DH and I have been discussing him getting fixed, so this is pretty much a big surprise. Don't get me wrong, I am happy--just still digesting! What's funny is for DD I tried for three years to get pg and with DS I tried for at least 1.5 years. This time it only took the one time of fun the day before ovulation--:lol I can't remember when my last moon was but I am guessing middle of June which puts my EDD April 2. I am nervous to be having a babe in Japan. I am trying to find a midwife but am not having any luck. I would like to go uc, but with DD being a c-sec and DS having to be turned during transition, I think I would like someone with experienced hands to be there. We will see what happens as I get more familiar with the territory!

Hi! I'm so excited to join all of you in the April '07 ddc. It happened faster than we expected and thought we would like to have a baby next July or August, but it turns out April will be the month.
I'm Michelle. DH is Jeff & we've been married for 8 years. Maddie is 5. Ellysia is 3 and Claire just turned 1. She won't be 2 by the time this little one arrives. Ellyisa has been telling people for weeks that she has 3 sisters.
I have a job outside of the home. DH is a SAHD. This such an awesome situation to be able to have one of us stay home with the girls.
We haven't told anyone yet. My secretary at work is due one month before me and she told people right away at 4 weeks. The day she took the test. That's not me. DH and I enjoy giggling about it for a bit on our own. (Other than the on-line friends)
I would like to get an u/s in the next couple of weeks. I have to pick a new provider because my family doctor isn't doing deliveries anymore. Which I totally understand. She's in her late 30's and is due to have her 1st in the next month or so.
I'm due April 16. I tend to go a week or so past my dd which would put me within days of Ellysia's birthday.

Hello everyone!
I'm 37 and live in the east of England. I had my DS by emergency c-section after failed induction for PIH (don't even get me started!) Expecting #2 in early April; going for a home water birth with an independent midwife.

I can't believe I am joining a DDC!!!!
I'm Elizabeth, DH is Chris. We are 27 and 26 respectively and this is our first pregnancy. We just started trying officially last cycle, so it happened pretty quickly, but I have been charting and buffing up on fertility for a year and a half.
I took 1 HPT on Monday night and it turned unmistakably + in about 45 seconds. Then I took a digital test Tuesday and again it said "Pregnant" in under a minute!!
I am thrilled but SO NERVOUS!!!!!!
Like mclisa, I am due April 16th.

Hey Michelle, looks like we made the jump to the ddc togather!:thumb
Hi everyone, my name is Angela, Im 37, dh Charles is 32. We have Brandon, who will be 15 next month, Katie who was three in May and Todd who is 19 months. My period JUST came back last month and I started charting to get back in the habit of temping and to find my pattern. I never expect to catch the egg on the very first cycle. After dd, my first several cycles had very short luteal phases, so I figured that even if we caught the egg.... Not to mention that being my first pp cycle, it was erratic, I geared up to O twice before I actually did. In fact, I thought I HAD by CM and ff which is off and had my coverline too low, so my temps were all over the place and I coulnt tell a dip from a spike. Then I plugged my info into the ovusoft s/w and saw that my temps really did spike, but about four days later than what ff said. We had done the bd that morning (like four am, I know tmi) but thought we were past our chance but low and behold the next morning my temp spiked and here we are!! I tested + this morning, 11dpo and have already told dh, fil and the kids so it has to stick!
Im due april 21st so I'll be late april I guess with starbound!!
My mom is very unsupportive of us having another one so I have sworn everyone to secrecy. My oldest ds thinks I should tell her because she'll be mad that I kept it from her, but frankly I want as many peaceful months as I can get before I have to hear everyday why we shouldnt be doing this (and its not like we are destitute or my kids are deprived of anything they need or most of what they want!)
This is so awesome! I didnt know about the ddc before....I actually found mdc from the mothering magazines in my midwifes office. LOVE those!
I havent even schedule a prenatal apt. yet. I may have to go with an ob/gyn, although I have a new one that I like alot, but I have quite a list of questions for her. I used a midwife last time, but my insurance didnt pay, despite saying that they would, so I still actually owe them money and cannot afford to do it again. But am terrified of hospital "procedures" that I dont want, like vit K, hep B, etc.
So we shall see. Greetings everyone, Im so happy to be here!!!
Oh yeah, btw, MY bday is in april too!! (yeah, so I'll be 38 for the birth)

I'm new here - I just recently got a positive after over two years of trying! I've calculated my due date to be 4/13. I'm 33 and DH is 35. This is our first.
I know I want a natural birth and cringe at all the hospital horror stories I've heard - so I am on a quest for the right caregivers to help me have the birth experience I desire. :)

Hello! My name is Candi (24), My DH is Sean (28), and DD is Lilith (7). We got married on May first, and now are expecting a little one on April Fools Day 2007. So happy to be having our honeymoon baby!
I have been on and off Depo in the past and it took 5 months after my missed shot to get pregnant. I have been charting- but have had crazy AF because of depo withdrawl. So I expected that our dates might be a little off- and I was right. My due date is now April first, so Im jumping from the March DDC to the April DDC.
We had an ultrasound yesterday and everything looks wonderful. I am so happy and blessed!

Well, I am adding myself on without any test to confirm, but some good 'symptoms'!
I am Michelle (28) & my DP is Jacob (30), who is currently transitionning female-to-male. After 5 inseminations, we are hopefully here to stay! Our EDD is April 24.

Michelle, what? No test? What are your symptoms?
MichelleW
08-12-2006, 09:24 PM
Hi Megan!
Well, first there are a few reasons for no test, the strongest being that I had a shot of ovidrel just before the insemination to help with the timing. The shot has HCG in it, which could affect testing. Second my symptoms...
-bigger boobs, aka: balloon boobs
-queasiness & more burping (esp after eating)
-occassional pain/discomfort in lower right side near hip
-peeing more often
-fatigue
This at 11DPO, and have been for 3+ days.
What do you think?

Hi there. I am 26 and just found out that DH and I are pregnant w/ #1! I've had 3 BFP's....the 1st two were relatively faint, but definitely there....and the last one was unmistakably POSITIVE. Woohoo! Baby's due in late April.
I'm going to take another test this Friday and then call the midwife I have chosen for my prenatal care and delivery to set up our first appointment. Just the thought of sitting there w/ my midwife discussing the birth of my baby makes me so excited! :jumpers:
megan sacha
08-13-2006, 09:34 AM
congrats kewpie! I know what you mean about being excited about finally getting to make all these decisions about the birth of our babes!
Michelle, why don't you test and then test again in a day or two if there's a line to see if the trigger shot is leaving or this is the real deal? I personally wouldn't put too much stock in symtoms since based on that we thought Sacha was pg many times and her real symptoms didn't start until at least 11dpo. BUT, your symptoms do sound promising.
MichelleW
08-13-2006, 11:42 AM
fair enough megan, esp cause this morning my temp plummitted. i had a couple of these symptoms on month 2, but cause there was more, etc, i really had hope. this morning i am distraught! so yes, looks like we'll test. maybe go to a clinic toda with DP, as other days he needs to be at work.
thanks megan!

I have taken two tests and although faint they were +. And I am feeling MS and exhastion! I think I am in denial bc I teach 3rd gr and school starts in one week!:dizzy: I am very scared to go through MS at school and to be sooo tired and about my water breaking at school!!! It gushed with DS, at least I was at home. Does that mean it is likely to happen again? Oh yeah, I am 31 in 2 weeks and DS is a full time student studying to be a Dr. I think we are due around 4/20.

Hi, everyone. I've been lurking around the room for a couple of days, reading what everyone has written and just being paranoid to add myself to the list. Even after three BFP home pregnancy tests and a + blood test, I'm still questioning if it's true. This will be #1 for me at 36. My EDD is April 23rd and I'm thrilled (and scared) to be here. :jumpers:

Adding myself as well....
No one IRL knows yet, and I know a lot of people here on MDC IRL, so I am using a new name. When I announce to the world, I will let you all know more detailed info about me. In the meantime:
I am due late April
This is not my first pregnancy
I am having a homebirth
I am over 35
Thanks for putting up with me! :D

Hi everyone!
I am Rebecca(26), DH is also 26. We have been married for 5 years and have been TTC for 3 1/2 years.
I am due on April 26. I still can't believe that this has happened. I just got my positive this morning. I had to take several tests to be sure!

Hi, I am Angie and I am adding myself to the list. After 5 BFP's I should really consider myself pregnant. LOL. We have been married for almost 10 years and have been trying the whole time. It finally happened. According to my calculations I am due around April 16th. My first appt is September 7th.

Hello,
I am Rebekah and am officially adding myself to the list. This is my 3rd pregnancy. I have two dds ages 6 and 3 who were also April due dates, and my birthday is in April as well. My official due date is the 22nd, so late April. I was sick earlier, right around the time I think I implanted, but attributed it to food poinsoning or something. Now I think it was just pregnancy hormones kicking in! Anyway, I am only 18 days past ovulation according to my temp charts, so still kind of afraid of miscarriage or something. But so far so good. :)

Hi all, Count me in!
I have two wonderful boys 3.5 and 18 months! I have been married for almost 8 years to the man of my dreams and we are jumping up and down with joy over this pg. I am pretty sure my edd is the 22 but I wasn't charting this month as we haven't been TTA. I am a little shocked because this is only my third cycle pp (I am still nursing) and it took 6 months of ttc #2!
Congrats every one!

DH and I are expecting our very first in mid April of 2007. We've been ttc for almost 9 months now, so it seems like a dream come true. DH is a little nervous about all this, what he calls "hippie stuff," but we're working on it. We're going to do our own prenatal care and we're hoping to have a homebirth, possibly a waterbirth with a doula. I'm ridiculously excited! We have a list of baby names picked out, but we'll probably go with Ziva Inari for a girl or Jaden Bryce for a boy. :)

I am Patty, mama to 3 wonderful children, ages 6.5, almost 5 and 2.5. I am due on April 23rd. I have had 3 c-sections and will be having a scheduled c-section 1-2 weeks early due to problems with my uterus.
Thrilled to be here!!!

Hi, joining. :wave
I'm Loon and we're due with #2 in early April. We have one dd so far, who just turned 4.
We're a military family and DH just got back from a deployment. So, yeah, it's a reunion baby. :lol But really, we're very happy and fortunate that conception happened so quickly!
My morning sickness has been really bad so far. Much more pronounced than with dd. Also, I'm really showing already. I'm already wearing maternity pants because nothing else is comfortable on my belly.
But glad to be here with all of you!! :)

Okay, I have enough confidence now that I'm adding myself! I go by St. Margaret, although my name is not Margaret :) I'm 26, my DH and I have been married for 4 years and we've had baby fever for pretty much all of that time. But it's finally time to start a family, and we're working hard at it-- I got pregnant in June (first month trying), had a miscarriage in July, and got pregnant in July again (oops! hee, we were supposed to wait a cycle; oh well!) I've had bleeding from the start of this pregnancy, so I was very very concerned it was turning into another m/c, but we saw a yolk sac yesterday, so we're hanging in there, hoping to get two more weeks out and maybe see a pole and most importantly a heartbeat. I am making an active effort to relax and enjoy this pregnancy, as long as it lasts, hopefully until April 19th!

Getting in a little late here, but decided to join in.
I'm new to MDC, although I've been a member for awhile. I usually roam on LJ, and keep my blog on Vox at the moment.
My name's Nicole. I'm 22, soon to be 23. My husband and I weren't planning on TTC till November, so this was a nice surprise. Now I won't be pregnant in the summer. I have a 2 year old daughter named Ciara :)
I'm planning on an unassisted pregnancy and childbirth, which is the main reason I headed on over here. I'm looking for all the info I can get. I had a hospital birth with an OB, and want to go a completely different route this time.

Hi! I had my first baby 3.26.05, a boy, Michael. I had PIH and was on bedrest. My labor was 24 hours with pictocin, epidural, episiotomy, and vaccuum extraction. I hated every bit of it. While I was open to drugs and just wanted to see how everyhting went, this was not the labor that I wanted. I had horrible back pain from the epidural. I couldn't hold my baby with out support. I was so swollen I could barely walk from them pumping fluids into me for so long even though I was already retaining water! And then I can't forget that the hospital switched my baby and he was giving to another mother for breastfeeding. Luckily she noticed before anything happened. They failed to tell me this. She recognized me a few months later in a restaurant and came over.
So for my next baby we are going natural. Unfortunately there are no midwives in this area and midwifery is illegal in Indiana so I'm having an OB. Its a different one that last time. I've only met him twice so he will be grilled with questions. If necessary I will switch.
So I'm due at the end of April. I'm still breastfeeding DS. Not sure what is going to happen with that. Just winging it right now! Dr is fine with me breastfeeding though!
Hope you all can help me have the natural labor that I want!

Hi all,
First time on this website. Want to add myself to the April, 07 due date club.
Hope this is the way to do it!?
I'm 44 and pregnant for the first time. I'm a little worried because I don't really feel much yet. A little bit of pulling in my abdomen, but not much else. No morning sickness, not very tired.
We are due April 15. We had a blood test a few weeks ago and it doubled as it should of but I'm still a little concerned. Next Tuesday will be 7 weeks and 2 days and we're having an ultrasound. What should we be seeing on it? A sac, a heartbeat?
I'm really glad you're all here. I'll be in touch.

Check out dona.org or cappa.net to try to find a doula. If you can't find a doula, see if you can find a lay midwife in the area that is willing to act as a doula for you in a hospital birth. Even though the status of lay midwifery in Indiana is what it is, lots of mamas still birth at home with midwives.
Welcome to the April DDC!!

It's really common, especially with your first to be in a "But I don't feel pregnant" stage at this point in your pregnancy. I bet that you are feeling some things but aren't attributing them to pregnancy (I did that with my first pregnancy).
At seven weeks you should be able to see the heartbeat via a transvaginal ultrasound. If they have the technology, they should be able to focus on the beating heart and amplify the sound into the room for you to hear, too.
Welcome to the April DDC.

My name is Julia and I am 27 and my DH is 28. This is our first baby so we are very excited! I am due April 22. My first appointment with the midwife is Augut 29th. We are using a birth center but everyone I know IRL (except one person) has used a hospital and an OB so I some people don't understand why I would want to do it this way but DH and I are very happy and comfortable with our decision. I would like to CD but DH isn't comfortable with that at this point but maybe over time he will come around. He was very anti birth center and midwife when we first got married but I have convinced him over the year's it is a better choice and now he wholeheartedly agrees with me. :) I'm also planning on BFing and making my own baby food. I already have a cousin who I just found out does that so I am excited that I will have someone IRL that I can ask questions to about it.
Wanted to add that our 5th anniversary of being married is April 20 so we may end up having our baby on our anniversary!

I'm new here, too!
I was holding off on joining any boards until I'd told my mother, but I'm sick of having nausea and sore boobs and I need camaraderie. ;) I'll see mom this coming weekend and will tell her then.
I'm 30 and have been married to the lovely man I call "boy" since October 1999. We live in central Virginia and have a rambunctious standard poodle who is normally named Jericho, but today has earned his nickname Ralfie Yakitori (ugh). This is our first and we're excited and terrified in all the good ways. We planned the pregnancy, but never expected to get knocked up during the first cycle! Wowsa!
Anyhow, I have my first prenatal appointment today. I was unable to get in with the really cool midwife in our town (I called early last week and she was already booked for April), so I've got an OB that I've heard nothing but good things about.
I'm due April 23ish, or so the doctors think. I have a 20-day cycle, but first babies are often later than late in my family. I'm torn between being completely honest with my OB and just not mentioning my cycle length, since I really want to avoid artificial induction if possible.
I was vegetarian (lacto-ovo since 1992!) until the morning sickness hit. Now I can handle nothing but really spicy chicken dishes. o_O I've always been pragmatic and I figure that if my body desperately wants chicken and scotch bonnets, I'll give it chicken and scotch bonnets.

Hello mama's! I am due mid April. I have a 16 month old ds who is still nursing (ouch!). We had a lovely homebirth last time with minimal intervention (midwife broke my water) and a great postpartum period and I'm hoping for the same this time. It only took us one cycle to conceive, but I've had three m/c's, so we're hoping this one sticks. So far, so good! I hope everyone has joyous and healthy pregnancies!

Anyway, we are delivering at a local hospital, attended by an ob and assisted by a doula. Going for a natural childbirth with few interventions!

Hello all!
Congrats to everyone. My EDD is 4/30 and we're planning a homebirth. We live in NE PA and have a daughter soon to be 3. We're so excited about the homebirth. Marlie was born in the hospital with a midwife and doula and it was a very natural birth, but we're imagining this one to be even more intimate.
No morning sickness yet (knocking on wood) but it started around 7 weeks with Marlie, and I hit that point next week so we'll see!
Cheers!

edd. April 7, 2007 =)
HI everyone,
I'm new to mdc... and thought this would be a good place to find other mommas... hubby and i have been married for 14 years this month. I'm 34, he'll be 36 this month. We are a vegan homeschooling family (ds age 10, dd is 8) THis is my first vegan pregnancy, although I was vegetarian for the others.
We haven't told the kids (or anyone ) that we are prego. I'm due around April 7. I know my daughter is going to be thrilled... she's been asking for a little sister (or brother, if it has to be!) ... My son will grow to love the idea, and the little one, I'm sure.
It's funny because someone in my apartment building is due the week before me, so we've been looking up things online about fetal development.... It has been fun to share that with the kiddies... can't wait till they know who we are actually talking about!
wowsers...
we are looking into a home birth, or possibly midwife at a birth center. Hubby is not comfortable with unassisted, so we need to find a good midwife. I think that is my biggest stress right now. We hadn't really planned this.. we've wanted a baby for awhile, but I didn't actually think Icould get preg.
I dreamt about my first two many years before I ever got pregnant. Hubby did too.
then Last May, I dreamed I was pregnant... And again in June adn July, I had baby dreams...
and here we are!

Hi! I'm Lindsey.
I'm married to Gregg, I have two daughters, Grace (3) and Isabelle (1) and we're due around April 18th if I figured it right w/ the counting from conception. We weren't trying right now so I think we're still on the side of semi-shock in that we're not thinking about it a ton. I have been soooo nauseated the past two weeks though it's impossible to forget. DH seems to have forgotten how crappy it makes me feel though despite me telling him and thinks I should just forge on ahead full pace. :-p
Anyhow, I'm looking for a midwife since my previous midwife who delivered Isabelle has moved on to somewhere else. I am hoping to deliver at Family Beginnings which is a birthing center attached to a local hospital. I had a good delivery there with Issy and hoping a repeat experience. :) Planning to do a water delivery again since it helped so much!

I'm excited there are so many other mamas. We are expecting baby number 3 due April 29. However, my oldest two were premature born at 32 and 33-34 weeks. We're hoping to go see the OB sometime this week. I'm hoping to have a drug free birth and be able to labor more freely like with pregnancy #2. Being able to move around made such a huge difference. So far I'm dealing with nausea and food adversion but nothing to exciting yet.

Sasha, I am in Indiana too! I will be having a homebirth with one of the many wonderful midwives I know. I am in Indianapolis, but I know midwives all over the state if you're interested. Even if you're not feel free to pm me to chat. It's fun to have someone so close irl that you met on mdc!

Hi! I'm Lindsey.
I am hoping to deliver at Family Beginnings which is a birthing center attached to a local hospital. I had a good delivery there with Issy and hoping a repeat experience. :)
Lindsey, you don't happen to be in Seattle do you? That's the name of the birthing center attached to a hospital here in Seattle and where we hope to deliver.! :p
Welcome newbie mamas!

Hi-
I'm Rachel (29) Dh Brian (27), have 3 boys 10, 9 & 7 and after 3 m/c (1/05, 2/06, 5/06) we are 8 weeks along- and I am really sick, so taking that as a great sign. On a bunch of herbs to help stay preggo.
I'm a montrice and Doula, planning a homebirth with the midwife I have apprenticed with for over 5 years.
This will be my 4th homebirth-- all have been wonderful.
Due April 18th-- though am usually a week or so early.

Hi-
I've never done this before...
Anyway, I am 31, pregnant for the first time ever. My husband I are thrilled, we got preganant a month before the planned starting time, 'practicing'.
I have seen some wonderful women in a midwife practice here in Arcata, CA. They only give birth in a birth center at a hospital, so that's what will probably do.
The little sprout is due in mid-April.
I am bursting at the seams (when I am not so exhausted I can't do anything but sleep) and have no idea how I'm supposed to hold in my special secret for too much longer. At least family and close friends know...
I don't know what all the little abbreviation mean, so I have trouble interpreting all the things people write, but I have found stuff that has been supportive and interesting. I do think mothering is a fantastic publication....
Hope to hear from other mother-to-be in April!

Congrats on the "early" pregnancy!
The really nice thing about the DDC (due date club) is that you can talk about your pregnancy here while it's still a secret in the real world, off line!

Hooray, I can finally "out" myself and join! I've been posting around here for a few days but didn't want to change my sig or post in the DDC until we got the confirmation. We had our first u/s today... twins!! :storkgirl :storkgirl
A brief history: As my signature says, my son Jackson has Krabbe disease which is a (rare and horrific) genetic disease that DH and I are both carriers for. In order to avoid passing the disease on to another child, we chose to do IVF/PGD and test the embryos prior to transfer. We transferred 2 completely unaffected/non-carrier GIRL embryos and they both took! I'm 7w1d today, due date is April 30 - which I hope to get very close to.
I feel like I'm about to have 3 miracle babies now - first my son in surviving the horrible disease he was born with, now his two sisters. I'm in shock and more than a little concerned about how I'm going to handle a very special needs son and twin daughters, but somehow we'll do it. Thank goodness DH works from home!
I'm planning a hospital birth (feel very at home in the hospital after what we've been through with DS). Here's to healthy and happy pregnancies for us all! :D

Hi I am Kathleen. I live in San Diego California, but I long to relocate back home to the midwest. Due about 4/23/07 by my calculations. I have one beautiful son who just started kindergarden. I have been TTC since December 2005. I believe I conceived on August 1st. So 38 weeks from that would put me at a due date of late April. Glad to be here.

Who's planning to find out the sex at an u/s and who is planning to wait? We're trying to make up our minds.

We are going to wait (we waited with DS too). I would kinda like to know, but DH feels strongly about not knowing, so I'll go along with him.

I'm Bkwyrm, I'm 33, I live in Chicago with my husband. I work for a lobbying group called the National Association to Protect Children, my husband is an estate and probate attorney.
Last year I was pregnant for about fourteen weeks, but that pregnancy was terminated after the baby stopped growing and a CVS showed a fatal chromosome condition. I didn't think I'd want to try again, but here I am. Due April 18 - four days before my father's 78th birthday!

I guess I should finally do this. I am due with my first baby on Arpil 16th. My DH and I have decided to birth with a CNM at a hospital. Partially because home births are illegal in this state and partially b/c dh is a little freaked out so we get the best of both worlds IMO. Anyways we live away from our families b/c I am in the Air Force. That is tough for us but we are getting through it. I am getting out of the Air Force a few weeks before my little monkey will arrive. :thumb I am 25 and have been married for a little over 2 years. I am so excited to have #1 and I thank you all for your great information!

I am Corinne and this is my fourth due April 23. I have three year old twins and an almost 2 year old so it is going to be crazy. Both of my previous deliveries were with a CNM in the hospital. I am convinced that all three kiddos could of been sections if I had not had a mid-wife. My older twin's water was broken way over 24 hours when he was born. His twin sister was born 4 hours after him. My younger DS was stuck for a long time (like hours!!!) at 9.9 cms. In all three of those cases, OBs would of insisted on a section. Actually after my DD was born the supervising OB came in (he was suppose to be in the room when she was born due to hospital policy but she came out way too fast) and said he was really surpised she made it out vaginally. He rarely saw twins born vaginally.
I am again using the same CNM and birthing again at the hospital. There are no birthing centers within reasonable distance to me and I really don't feel comfortable with a home birth.

I am due with our 5th on April 14th. Things will be hectic around here with 3 kids under the age of 3 1/2. My other 2 are in school. We are really praying for a boy. We have 3 girls now and one boy. I would really like my son to have a brother.
Good luck to everyone.

So I have been reading this message board every now and then and I figured I should probably stop lurking and actually post something. :o) I am 23 and am have a 20 month old son. My husband and I are expecting baby number 2 in April. We are due April 6th, but my son was about a week late, so I expect this little one on time at best. :p

I guess I should add now since I've been talking for a few weeks now!
I'm expecting late April/early May. I have two boys from a previous marriage - 10 and 7. They are awesome! I am also loving the huge gap in age - not having a toddler to chase while pregnant (and puking) and not having had a baby in the house for so long - it really feels like the first time all over again! This is my DP's first child - we are thrilled and we are madly in love and having sooooo much fun.
I'm planning a uc (i didn't tell the midwife this part). I tried a birthing center with DS1 but was transferred to the hospital for a vaginal delivery. Home birth with DS2 - he was planned uc - but after another very long labor - I called the midwife to come help near the end. She knew we were planning uc and was cool - but we are in a different state now, so can't use her again.
I have a full-time job that I don't love and recently became a yoga instructor. I'm hoping to implement many life changes this coming year....
I'm so glad to be here!

Well let me add myself to this. I am due april 9, 2007. It will be my second and last b/c I never want to go thru this again. i can't wait to have my baby but pregnancy does not agree with me. i am so envious of those women who don't have all day sickness. But i wanted to get pregnant so here I am. I actually think this is worse this time b/c I know what to expect somewhat. With my dd everything was new. Once the sickness started I was just really bummed. I smell everything even moreso with this pregnancy and I will want to cry at nothing too. I never did this with dd. I have thrown up so much and so hard, I have pulled muscles in my abs.
Then I keep thinking of labour. OMG I had 30 hours of back labour with her. I am going to a birthing center this time and I hope it will be less stressful than with dd. I had a midwife but was in the hospital. Andd Dh was not helpful at all neither was the midwife in helping me relax. I am hoping at the birthing center they will be more supportive, I know dh will be he is excited about this pregnancy. I can tell just in the way way looks at my belly. With dd he was freaking out.
I just can't wait for it to be over and to have my baby here.:)

I'n the O so controversial common sense on the fence mother due with no. 5 in April. Not sure when, as I think the lady who did my US was not too bright and was confused by the deformed uteri. I have my next appointment Friday, Oct. 20 and I plan to discuss another dating ultrasound or moving my due date based on my LMP because I feel movement. I think I am 15 weeks based on passed pregnancies.
I am planning a repeat cesarean section due to a uterine anomaly. This will be my fourth.
My name is Kim. My DH is Jeff. My kids are Elizabeth -9, Dylan-6, Jack-4, and Katie is 16 months.

Hi ladies,
I've made it through the first trimester and am ready to add myself to the mix. I'm Micheline (36) and I live with dh (34) and dd (28 mos) in beautiful British Columbia Canada. I had 3 mc before dd and another this spring, so have been 'holding my breath' until now with this pregnancy. We had an ultrasound on Friday and the baby looks great. OB said he saw 'boy bits', but we'll wait to confirm at the 18w us :)
My EDD is April 28th and I'm hoping for a more peaceful birth this time (dd was emerg cs after we found out she was breech at 41 weeks). Anyone done VBAC or home birth after cs???
I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!
Micheline

:wave Hey mamas!
I'm Carolina, due the first week of April with my second and total surprise baby. :innocent DH and I are totally, absolutely happy to be pregnant. We had finally decided we were mentally ready to TTC after a crazy, rock-n-rolling 4 yrs of being the parents of an uber-spirited little dude but were planning to wait a little while so we could get settled into our new house. Let's just say God had other plans. :lol
I had horrible nausea and fatigue for about 10 weeks. Couldn't eat hardly anything and most days would wake up, feed DS some breakfast, turn the tv on for him, and promptly fall back asleep until lunchtime. :eek Fortunately, I am feeling healthy and normal and great again.
I live out in the boonies in an old house on a farm and will be having a homebirth. DS's birth, unmedicated in the hospital with a wonderful midwife, was peaceful and powerful, and I am looking forward to an even better experience this time around. Although I have a big baby belly and have been feeling baby movements for a while, this pregnancy does not seem quite "real" yet, maybe because I am so busy running around with my DS and trying to get the house fully unpacked and in some semblance of order. We'll see how it goes.
Glad to be here!

I was shocked to discover I was 2 months along when I found out (now the times seems to be standing still!). I am feeling great, I had a few bad mornings, and cannot stay up past 9:00, but other then that...

Hi ladies,
I was in the May due date club but after an ultrasound today my new date is April 24... This is my third pg and has been really different from my other two. I was actually quite convinced that was having twins as I've had all sorts of symptoms that I didn't have for the other two (bad morning sickness after never having it before, and a big measurement) but there's just one little kicking babe in there!
I look forward to getting to know you all over the next few months!:thumb

Hi Gals,
I'm due with my second child on April 10 (or so) and my ds will be just over three by then. I'm am still so glad to have MDC, it has been such a great help since I had my first.
This pg has been harder than the first, but I'm 37 and try to keep up with my toddler all day. Right now I'm in a bit of a depression, very weepy, and very anti-social, but STARVING all the time, it's weird. I'll be glad to move on to a new phase soon.
I'm planning another home water birth with the same midwife and she's wonderful, so I'm confident all will be well. We're waiting until birth to see what we get - no ultrasound this time. All signs tell me girl, but I thought I'd have two boys, who knows.
I'm in La Center, WA, just outside Portland, OR.

Hi ladies
I'm due April 15 with my second sprout. My first DS will be four when this one arrives. We are planning a hospital birth with midwives -- a very popular option here in Portland, Oregon.
My sickness was way more extreme this time, and my symptoms are just generally completely different. Makes me wonder if I'm carrying a girl. We'll see in a few weeks!
