My husband and I have been toying with the possibility of moving to Europe and would LOVE to live in Ireland. We need info and have just started looking into whether it is really feasable. He is working to get his Master's in Sociology and would like to get a teaching job, hopefully at the college level, but we're not really in a position to be picky. So...where do we start? Is it even possible for American's to come over to work and live there? Are there any universities in the area that have programs or request American teachers?
Thanks so much...in advance!:wink

Check out www.immigrationboards.com. Tons of helpful people. Europe immigration is where you want to pose your Ireland questions.
I think anywhere in Europe it's hard to move as a non-EU citizen, unless you have a job secured, or if you go to school there and find a way to stick around.

We are originally from NY and have lived in Dublin for the last two and a half years. My husband is getting his PhD at Trinity. He was a University Professor for 6 years in the states with two Masters degrees. We have lived over here for 3 year and it is VERY hard to get a job if you are NOT Irish! I would after our experience recommend moving to England not Ireland. Ireland is a great place to live if you have family here but HARD to get adjusted if not. If you want more info feel free to PM me. I have loads of info good and bad. And all FIRST hand experience.
