View Full Version : FET coming up
CorbinsMama 08-02-2006, 08:10 PM I'm in the last days before my FET. I had b/w and u/s done yesterday. They said my lining looks perfect, but they called in the afternoon and said that my estrogen was not as high as they would like (despite the four -- count 'em -- four estrogen patches I started wearing the other day). They said it's not uncommon at this time of year because they heat and humidity can inhibit the absorption from the patches.
So they prescribed estrace tablets that I insert vaginally. I have noticed a change. Instead of crying at every other thing, I now cry at every single possible thing. Fortunately, they said that this won't change my transfer date. I have b/w tomorrow to make sure it's all going okay.
Megan, you crack me up! I am glad you haven't lost your sense of humor! (so, did you cry at the Planter's Peanut commercial the other day like I did? :lol )
We'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping for perfect b/w.
Diane~KJ 08-02-2006, 11:44 PM Good luck Megan!! My fingers and toes are crossed for you and a sucessful FET. I can totally relate to the emotional rollercoaster! Hang in there. :thumb

Tinkerbell1177 08-03-2006, 06:10 AM Good Luck with your upcoming FET. Plenty of sticky vibes your way!
CorbinsMama 08-03-2006, 02:04 PM Oh no, Dena! I don't think I know that commercial! I hope I don't see it! :wink
I had my estrogen tested today. It was 860, up from 250 the other day. So that's good!
Yay! Sounds good!
The commercial was actually pretty bland, but for some reason I just sat there bawling. And that was BEFORE the hormones. Yipes. :lol
CorbinsMama 08-07-2006, 06:24 PM Well, here I am, sitting in bed with the laptop, hopefully as a pregnant woman. I had my transfer at 1:45, and the doc put in three lovely little multicellualr embryos.
He said it would work this time because there was no reason that it didn't before. I asked if I could get that in writing. :wink Then the nurse saw the pic of the embryos and she commented on what great looking, healthy ones they were.
They are thankfully not making me wait a full 2 weeks. I had b/w this Friday just to test my estrogen and progesterone, but then next Friday, the 18th, I have my pg test. Eleven days is only slightly better than 14, but I'll take it!
Whooo Hooo!!
PUPO MEGAN!!!

Hey! How are you feeling? I was thinking about you today.
lesliesara63 08-09-2006, 03:10 PM Good luck Megan! I can't wait to hear some good news!
Leslie in Chicago 08-11-2006, 12:56 PM oh the suspense is killing me!! I mistakenly thought today was the Friday, but it isn't til next week...can't imagine how hard the wait is for YOU, Megan!
I'm doing fine. Today is my last day on post-septum-surgery hormones and I should be getting the biggest period of my life in a few days. After that, doc says we have a 70% chance of getting pregnant on our own over the next four months. We'll be doing our part...:wink
CorbinsMama 08-11-2006, 08:34 PM Don't I wish, Leslie! I had my estrogen and progesterone checked today, and the nurse called to tell me that everything looked great. "Optimal" was the word she used, meaning that everything is right for pg. But in my mind I hear "everything is right for pg, so if it doesn't work, it's for no apparent reason, just like last time." :gloomy:
I have had a couple dizzy spells and a couple bouts of mild nausea. My friend congratulated me on my dizziness tonight. "Dizzy! That's wonderful! Dizzy is so good!" :lol
You and DH better get :banana soon!

I just got my box of meds in the mail today for my 1st IVF. You should've seen my face when I saw how much there was. :yikes: I don't know how I will make it through.
Oh, Jenny, we have all been there. That first glimpse of the first IVF meds is quite the shock. You will make it through - it is amazing what a motivator that promise of motherhood can be!
Megan, your dizziness sounds SO promising!! I can't WAIT to hear good news on Friday!!! :thumb
Jenny1231 08-12-2006, 01:07 PM At least my husband is beginning to understand a little better after that delivery! He feels so bad.
CorbinsMama 08-15-2006, 07:33 PM I couldn't stand it any longer and I POAS this morning.
:+
I called the Dr office to let them know that I POAS and got a congratulatory return call from my favorite nurse. I'll be taking my bloodtest on Friday to get my numbers!
I almost can't believe it, but I did physically feel it. I have sore, heavy boobs, dizziness, a little nausea. I was pretty sure that I was, but it's still unbelieveable!
Jenny1231 08-16-2006, 07:45 AM :jumpers: Yay!!!!!!! Awesome! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!
Whoo Hoo!!
Awesome news, Megan!!!
Can't wait to hear your numbers on Friday!!
BTW, if you don't mind sharing, how many embies did you transfer, and what stage were they at? You know me, always looking for success stories for my arsenal of hope!

That is awesome news! I just returned from vacation and there is GREAT NEWS on this board!!!! Congrats!
CorbinsMama 08-18-2006, 07:14 AM Thank you so much, everyone!
This morning I had bloodwork for the pregnancy test. I ran into my fave nurse on my way to the lab, and she said, "I knew you were pregnant!" She will be calling me this afternoon with my numbers. If they are high and there is more than one in there, DH may have to be hospitalized!
CorbinsMama 08-18-2006, 10:42 AM Okay, the nurse just called and my HCG is 41. Whaddaya think? She said it was just right and normal, so Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy!
I go back on Tuesday to have it checked again.
vermonttaylors 08-18-2006, 05:12 PM :champagne :carrot :banana :broc: :champagne
Awesome!!!
I think 41 is great! I have a dear friend whose first hcg with each of her pgs was 52 - and up it shot right away!
Congrats again, and here's to a happy, healthy nine months!
nathansmom 08-20-2006, 04:35 PM Congrats!! I had low numbers with my first ivf too.
Dolores-74 09-06-2006, 10:16 AM Tomorrow I am scheduled for FET. I was reading your post regarding the vaginal estrace and 4 patches--me too. Plus the progesterone injections and suppositories. My lower back hurts badly and I feel as though I am a few months pregnant. I only have one "frosty" to transfer. Nurse says its a good one--day 6 blast expanded. How did things work out for you?
CorbinsMama 09-06-2006, 11:49 AM (Look at post #18...)
Okay, I'll save you the trouble -- It worked! I am on Week 6 now and my due date is April 24. I have now stopped the estrace, but I'm wearing three patches. I'm still on the progesterone. I think they are weaning me off the estrogen in preparation of cutting me loose in another couple weeks.
Good luck to you!!!!
Dolores-74 09-06-2006, 04:27 PM Okay, I'm crying happy tears. That is wonderful! I have a son, 16 months IVF. I know it can be done. But, I haven't tried FET so I'll be a little nervous. How much bedrest did you give yourself? Again, I am so glad to hear your good news. We go through such a physical, psychological, and emotional journey to get pregnant this way, not many can grasp what goes on with us. It is so nice to find ladies in this situation with success stories. Tomorrow is my big day at 11:30 a.m. Warm Regards, Dolores:
CorbinsMama 09-06-2006, 05:29 PM Dolores, One of the nurses told me that some women conceive only on FET. I had one failed IVF in June and had three totsicles put in this time. Since you had success with IVF, I hope that your FET will be just as successful!
I was very strict about my bedrest this time. I didn't want to leave anything to chance, so I did strict (stayed in bed, only got up to pee) on the first day and on the second day, I got up to pee and allowed myself to sit at the table. I took a shower on the night of the second day, which was hard because I'm a shower-everyday kinda girl!
Dolores-74 09-14-2006, 04:46 PM How are you coming along? I had FET on Sept. 7 and have been POAS, no luck yet. I read your posting and it looks like you got a positive by day 8. We both did our FET's on the 7th, so I'm hoping tomorrow I can get a faint line. I feel slight tugging or a dull ache when I get out of my SUV. What were some of your early symptoms? I have b/w on Tuesday and of course I can't wait. Take care.
CorbinsMama 09-14-2006, 06:55 PM Dolores, I had my FET on August 7 and eight days later I got my faint positive. Tomorrow could be your day!
My early symptoms were heavy, sore boobs. I also started having a little of that round ligament pain down low on the sides of my abdomen.
Oh, and I had my u/s Tuesday -- only one little bean!
Dolores-74 09-14-2006, 07:43 PM Yey! I'll take that information any day. I sort of feel like I'm pregnant especially with that round ligament pain, but I don't want to celebrate just yet. I can't wait to POAS tomorrow. I will keep all posted. Give your little jelly bean a big squeeze. Take care
Yay Megan!! Glad to hear your u/s went well!!
:thumb
CorbinsMama 09-15-2006, 12:25 PM Thanks, Dena! How are you?!
Doing good! After a major "nesting" spree, I now have all my closets, drawers, and cupboards in my house cleaned out, the house is clean, I have healthy snacks and movies at the ready, and am all set for two days of sitting around getting pg!
Our transfer is tomorrow, and I can hardly thing straight, I am so excited. I had a dream the other night that I was already pg and didn't need the transfer. Somehow I had gotten pg even with bcps, provera, and lupron in my system! :lol
I had a neat email from a good friend this morning. She said she woke up thinking about me, and felt strongly that our baby to be is just waiting for us, and wondering what is taking us so long. Yeah, me too! :lol
