I am on the board at our Montessori and I wanted some ideas from fellow boardies that might have some ideas for our crumbling school. We are in need of money making ideas so we can support our students and staff. We want to get our name out there and make not only our school but the philos. of Montessori better known in our community. Ideas? What has worked for your schools?

Well, it is the 100th Anniversary of Montessori! So piggyback on that! We are doing lots of celebration stuff and making it very public.

We have alot of fundraisers at our Montessori school. There is the pumpkin party, the auction, the gift wrap sale, scholastic book fair, save box tops, ice skating, annual giving campaign, Target, Heinen's (local grocery), shirts and bags monogramed with the school logo, plant sale, various bake sales - all kinds of stuff. The elementary classes do Pizza lunch to make money for class trips. Montessori Services has a program where the school can make money when families shop through their catalog.
Have you tried to google/other search for "montessori school fundraising" or something similar - you could see what other schools are doing.
Also, there is a thread in the Learning at School board about Fundraising, did you see it?
