I am a new mom in Tallahassee, right now I work full-time, but I am in the process of changing that! I would love to hear from other Tallahassee Mamas!

<I PM'd y'all, but it's acting weird and I don't know if you'll get ti three times or not at all. So to be on the safe side, thought I'd post it as well>

We're here! Have you been to LLL or API meetings here? Great place to connect with people on your wavelength. But you probably knew that!

LLL is the first Tuesday of the month at 11am at the public library, and the fourth Tuesday at 6pm at Meridian Woods church on Meridan Road. There are often enrichment meetings as well. API is the second Monday at the same church.

Some mailing lists at Yahoo groups that might get you connected:
APIofTAlly (it's case sensitive)
CALLL
cloth_dipe_TLH
tallymamadaddy

It's a great city, a wierd combination of students, hippies, and legislators. Welcome, and well met!

Namaste,

Pallas

p.s. There are rumors of a Dead concert at the Suwannee Music Park this summer!! My Cub's first concert was The Other Ones (well, he was still in utero, but jammed on the drum circle that was outside our tent).

Hi Tallahassee ladies! I don't live in Tally (I'm about an hour away, but thanks to insurance I have to go there!), but I'm looking for recommendations for a pediatrician over there. Any suggestions?

I use Dr. David Guttman at the Childrens Clinic, 850-877-7123. I am very happy with him and the practice.

We use a family practice guy that is wonderful with kids, Bill Kaufman. Recommend him highly.

Hi all,

Another Tally mama here. I see some names I recognize. :)

We just moved to Tallahassee in October last year, and so far it's been great for us. Lots of friendly people, pretty crunchy for a small town (actually more crunchy than some large cities I've lived in). And, now that it's finally warming up around here, there's tons of stuff to do. We're loving it! (yeah, I hear you, it's already too darned hot, but it was much colder this winter than I'd expected anywhere in Florida to be!)

I second the LLL and API group nominations. That's how I've met most of the people I know here.

There are a few playgroups in town, mostly attended by the LLL and API moms. Come to a couple meetings, I'm sure you'll get hooked up.

And would love to hear about playgroups and the like. My daugher is nearly two, is in cloth diapers, selectively vaxed, breastfed, worn (well, as much as she'll let me now!) and she co-sleeps.

ATM, I am also looking for progressive childcare. I'm in a PhD program and will take classes in the august. Ideally, I'm looking for a mom who wants to provide daycare in her home -

If someone has any suggestions maybe they could inbox me?
