I'm not really much of a drinker. I almost never have more than one drink! But obviously now - preggo - not drinking at all. For some reason I've CRAVED it this pregnancy. Anytime my dh drinks - especially wine - the smell - smells SOOOOOO good.
Anyways - if you're not preggo - enjoy one for me! :champagne :drink

I enjoy minimal alcohol while heavily pregnant.

I never was that much of a drinker anyway, but during my third pregnancy, when it was getting to be mid-autumn and I'd be out working in the yard, picking berries, enjoying the crisp fall air, etc, I used to crave an ice cold beer. I kept thinking how much I'd love to sit in my porch swing and have one. Once baby arrived, I could have cared less. It was just something about that particular time. Never happened during my other pregnancies either.
I think I'd ask you DH if he'd mind abstaining awhile since you have to.

*sigh* So many good booze drinks....Not allowed to drink em.
Each time I go to a restraunt DH has to point out "OOOOH Look at this It looks like one of those rocket popsicles from Dickie Dee but it has BOOOZE in it! I bet you want one of those"
I look at him and tell him the two words that aren't good morning.

I have been craving a Long Island Iced Tea. This from a gal who never has more than a glass or two of red wine a month when she's not pregnant. I don't give in to the hard liquor cravings, but when hubby has a beer (the taste of which I would find revolting when not pg) or a glass of wine I take a sip or two. I'm not in the "Even-Smelling-Alcohol-While-Pg-Makes-You-An-Awfull-Person" camp, so a sip or two doesn't leave me racked with guilt, especially after more than one doc has "perscribed" a glass of wine for calming my over-active Braxton Hicks (along with lots of water and a warning to avoid planting my flower beds in 90 degree heat again :guilty ). A girlfriend dealt with her wine cravings by going to the weekly tastings at a nice little wine shop in town. She got to slurp and spit a dozen different varieties and mingle with some fun folks and feel like she was still a "normal" person who could enjoy wine without the guilt and potential harm of actually swallowing it all.

I'm not pg now but I understand your craving!! I truly hated not being able to drink for alllll those months. I contemplated & planned what my very 1st drinks would be after giving birth. :lol My ds is 9months old now & we want to TTC in a few months. I think about this each & every time I enjoy a beer! I have to appreciate them while I can still drink them!:lol
So anyway, I totally understand.

With my first, I craved Tequilla and Orange Juice. I tried just drinking OJ and it didn't quelch it (and it also gave me wicked heartburn!) I'm kind of happy I drank so much (for me anyways) the Friday before I found I was pregnant.
If I was craving wine, I'd just take a sip and then either spit it. With tequilla and oj you can't really do that.
