Adamsmama

I don't yet...just wondering when it is going to hit. I think with my first pg it was around 6 weeks and with my 2nd it was around 8 weeks. When do you expect it?

I have been feeling a little bit of heartburn, which I NEVER get except when I was pregnant with my daughter. But it was way later, like 8-9 months. I had all-day nausea with her so I'm expecting that.

I am just barely 6 weeks (tomorrow) and it has already started. It just started out of the blue three days ago. No puking yet, but food aversions and lots of queasiness. The only thing that helps is eating non stop and home-made ginger ale. I am geared up for about 8 more weeks of this. Yuk!!

NOW I'm starting to feel queasy.... whoever said "Eat up!" when we were complaining about being SO hungry all the time... well, you were right. Ugh, I have NO interest in food now. I ate lunch because I thought it would make me feel better! No barfing yet, just drooling on myself and feeling like I'm going to puke. :thumb

I had like one day of queasiness.
I just haven't really been hungry lately. I'll eat once a day, and be done with it. I try and eat cheese sticks or an apple at another time of day, but really, not hungry.
Until tonight's dinner...But thats another thread :lol

Nope, I don't feel sick yet.

With my son, it started at 6 weeks, and I never really did have m/s with my daughter.

As crazy as this sounds, I actually WANT to have morning sickness - after so many miscarriages, any sign that my baby is growing well will be welcomed.

ROFL about the drooling! That is one of my symptoms too. It's pretty much only when I'm sleeping right now, but with my last pregnancy it got worse and worse and I would drool while I was up! It was SO weird.

Yeah, I'm working on some general nausea all a day mostly. I take my prenatal at night, which helps a bit because the prenatal makes me nauseous even when I'm not pregnant. Last pregnancy the morning sickness was pretty bad, so I'm not looking forward to the next 8 weeks. :(

I didn't get morning sickness until I was around 6 weeks with dd. I'm curious to see how it plays out this time.

I don't, but I'm only like 4wks along. I didn't have any with dd1, and lots with dd2. I hope this pregnancy is like my first! With my second I never actually "got sick" but I was queasy all the time.

scheelimama
09-09-2006, 11:23 AM
I'm feeling all day nausea, started 3 days ago, which was why I decided to do a pregnancy test yesterday, so I know it's not in my head. I don't normally do much puking though, just feel sick and terribly hungry, but nothing sounds good. Food aversions. I think I'm around 5 weeks and it usually peaks for me between 6-9 weeks then starts to subside.

ETA: I've been drinking ginger tea (Yogi brand) and it's helping a little. Just don't steep it too long or it will be too strong for a sensitive pregnant tummy.

Rico'sAlice
09-09-2006, 01:51 PM
Well, it is still real early but no nausea, sickness, or food aversions. However, I think my gag-reflex is more sensitive. I have more trouble swallowing pills and brushing my tongue. I can manage, but I really have to focus.

Dolphin
09-09-2006, 02:51 PM
Yes, and it's miserable...blek. Started at 5 weeks and it's all day, nonstop nausea. I hope it subsides at 9 weeks or so, but that still gives me another 2.5 weeks of this misery.

I am feeling a little bit queasy and I am so grateful for it. With both of my healthy pregnancies I was quite sick and with both of my miscarriages I was not. I am hoping for some full on nausea soon. :lol

09-10-2006, 10:51 AM
Chrissy, I've never miscarried, but I've been very concerned about the possibility this time since I have had a lot of bleeding. I am right there with you hoping for some full on nausea! :) Everytime I feel nauseous, I'm very grateful.

Woah - I had some today, in the afternoon. I didn't throw up (I never do) but it was bad nausea. I'm right about six weeks. I've been SO tired, taking naps but a lot of the time only sleeping lightly (and having crazy pregnancy dreams too). If I do fall asleep deeply it's still only for like five hours and then I'm completely awake and can't go back to sleep. I've had the weirdest schedule the last few days - or lack thereof.

Not really morning sickness, just not feeling like eating anything that I brought for lunch, even though I am starving.

Watch out for low blood sugar! I was sitting here half an hour ago, despising carrots and refusing to eat them, and started feeling :dizzy: A couple of Sweet Tarts from my office drawer and all is good. NOW I'll eat my apple and maybe that will hold me over for a bit until carrots DO sound appetizing. What I'd really like is a big fat juicy hamburger... just the patty even! Meeeeeaaaaaaaat!!!

I generally eat a non-meat diet, but I do enjoy poulty and fish every once in a while. I have been craving red meat too, recently, although I've yet to give in. And a couple of days ago I was obsessing about chips and salsa for three days. On the second days Dh took me to a Mexican restaurant and I had chips and salsa and was so happy. Then the next day I'm obsessing about it again! My friend went to lunch with me and I got chips and salsa and even took a box home. I was snacking on them all night. It was the only thing I would eat.

Its so weird because usually I'm tottally indecisive about where and what I eat!

I agree, yesterday afternoon was ROUGH. But I know it was because i didn't eat enough. Once I had a bowl full of spaghetti for dinner (and a big farmers sausage) I felt grrrrrrreat! So today I brought more farmers sausage for lunch, and a variety of snacks for the morning and afternoon and screw the budget, I'm going to Wendy's for lunch (with hubby's "permission" even to screw the budget).

ETA: i feel crappy today too. ugh. hope this doesn't keep up every afternoon, it is making doing my job difficult!

Hungry!!! All the dang time. Can't seem to get UN-hungry. I feel bad because at work I'm constantly eating (no one there knows yet) and I have a job that requires me to talk to clients, teachers, and kids. But if I don't eat I feel hot and hot leads to nauseous. So I eat all the time. I'm waiting for someone to say something to my supervisor.:lol

My morning sickness seems to be getting more and more intense as the days go on... this is all new to me! I always felt fantastic during my pregnancies, but this time around I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself. I'm either hungry because near everything makes me feel like vomiting (but I haven't actually gotten sick very often). Or I manage to eat something and then have to lie down for 45minutes+ so it will stay down. I feel like my guts are churning constantly...

I'm about 7.5 weeks now, and I read that m/s typically peaks around 9 weeks so I'm hopeful that this will soon improve.

there's my little rant for the day ;) - I hope you mamas are coping with your m/s well and growing healthy babies.

Anyone know what is in these? I'm interested to try something natural but would like to know more about the ingredients first.

Also, has anyone here tried acupressure bracelets? I hear they can be effective, too.

Can we inact a no puking smiley rule? I just saw it and :fever: :dizzy:

I agree! I feel really yucky and those barfing smilies don't help!

What remedies are you mamas trying to get through morning sickness? The only thing that works for me (and that stays down for most of the day) is soda crackers and gingerale, neither of wich I usually buy. I'm kind of concerned that my very limited diet will have some sort of negative effect on my babe. I'm hoping real hard that I'll be able to bring in other foods to my diet soon, other than white flour and sugar! Luckily the prenatal vitamins will count for something but I do miss eat fresh fruits and veggies.

I've been eating nothing but whole wheat english muffins with peanut butter and cheese quesadillas. DH took me out to dinner tonight to celebrate and I told him I wanted mexican food. Bad idea, I ate a whole basket of chips and that was pretty much it, by the time the food came it didn't look good to me at all. I felt pretty bad for not hardly touching my dinner, but at least he's got a great lunch for tomorrow. I haven't gotten sick since yesterday afternoon, but I've had that weird feeling in the pit of my stomach all day... feels like I'm hungry, but no matter what I eat, it won't go away.

This morning I've been battling sickness since 6:45am! I also have a lot of aversions now--some things just look terrible and other things just taste terrible! I have been queasy since before I got my bfp. Now it is really starting to kick up to a level that's interfering with the rest of my life. Yesterday, I had a business trip (hopefully, and likely the last one for a long time) with a co-worker to give a presentation to a bunch of corporate-types. It was soooooo hard!!! For much of the time, I had to just concentrate on not vomiting. When we got to the meeting room, I scoped out all the trash barrels first thing, just in case. The bathroom was like, a city block away so running there was out of the question. Luckily the room was very cold, which helped. Lunch was brought in and all I could eat was watermelon cubes and potato chips. I got some weird looks! I am so happy I got through it without tossing. Dealing with m/s from home today is so much easier after what I went through yesterday! Every time I feel sorry for myself, I will just remember how awful it was to focus all my energy on not vomiting in the airplane, the cab, the woman who I just met's car, the meeting room...

I got some Prince of Peace Ginger Honey crystals yesterday. You mix them with water, hot or cold, and it makes a sweet and spicy tummy-soothing drink. It's workin' for that nausea!

the last 2 days have been pretty rough. Yesterday I was out shopping and I couldn't take it anymore. I bought an ice cold can of regular Coke. I love that stuff on a queasy stomach. It was instant relief.

Mine finally hit just before six weeks (like a week ago) and I just feel mildly ill all the time and can't each much of anything. I just discovered that orange juice is really great for raising my blood sugar levels so I feel better at least for a bit. Hats off to those of you who are really sick and yet still managing to stay on top of your lives! I don't know how you do it!

I, too, have found that orange juice tastes really great these days. Last night I had to have some ginger ale before bed. That helped. Seltzer is good, too. Whoooo I've had some strong nausea the past couple of days. It seems to be worse at night. I try to get stuff done in the a.m. before it sets in...

I am right there with all of you! Have been feeling quite sick and have been living on ginger ale! Hope it's a good sign!

Hi! Well I have not missed out on morning sickness...hit me last week at 6 weeks. I've not actually thrown up but I'm nauseous 24/7...and it's so much worse at night I can hardly sleep! YUCKY!

Good Luck!
