Sewing w/Pattern

I can sew without a pattern, but basic stuff... blankets, pillows etc...

I really really want to start making the girls clothes, and some dipes for Adriana...

Is it really hard to learn to sew with a pattern?
Is there a book or info explaining hte use of a pattern?

I learned back in high school - 3 years of sewing class. :)

We started with really easy patterns - pillow letters - cinch bags, etc.

That way you get the hang of the jargon.

I would say start with something like Easy McCalls, Simplicity, something with really simple directions. Look for the number of pattern pieces - that will make a big difference.

As for understanding it, you can post here and I will translate what I can. :)

IMO Kwik Sew patterns are the easiest for beginners.
