...find out the sex of your baby? If s/he cooperates, of course. :wink

With my first two, the idea of not finding out didn't even cross my mind! With the third, I was entertained by the idea of it being a surprise...but curiosity got the better of me. My fourth baby, I had no desire at all to find out, it was wierd to feel so differently about it.

This time, I just don't know. My daughter is desperately wanting a sister and after three brothers, I'm worried she might be disappointed if its another boy. So, I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to find out for her so she can get used to the idea of another baby brother...

Looking forward to hearing others reasons why they are or aren't.

I really want to know! I know some people think its a great surprise to wait, but I feel like its a surprise no matter how or when you find out. I'm not good with waiting:p

Not sure, but I imagine we will find out. I agree, it's a surprise whenever you find out and when you go into labor and the labor itself is enough surprise for me! :lol

I really want to find out this time. We didn't with DS1 and we did with DS2 and I really enjoyed knowing.

Nah. We did find out with our first, didn't with our second and I really loved finding out at her birth.

We'll find out. I'd kind of like to wait (although it might kill me), but DH won't even consider it. :lol

I hope not to have any ultrasounds at all. However, should one truly be medically required I would be open to finding out the gender at that time.

I found out the sex of my other children at 20 weeks, and this time around I would really love to be suprised, however, I really doubt I'm patient enough. So I imagine that yes, we'll be finding out ahead of time.

I don't know yet. I will decide later. With my 1st & 2nd, I did not know. With my last I did, and I am glad for it. I felt a closer bond with her. This time, I will cross that bridge when I get there.

Hey Julie, I remember you from the TTC while nursing thread. It's great to see you here. :)

i want to be suprised - mainly so I don't get engulfed in gad-awful pink dresses again!

My dh is undecided - so we will see. I hope we can hold out!

I am not sure what we are going to do. We kept the sex to ourselves with dd. My mil (who I love) actually told me it was "easier" knowning what my sil was having. Huh? :lol

We're not having an ultrasound if I can get away with it, so we won't know and neither will anyone else. Surprise!

I have no idea if we will find out. I don't know that I really want to pay for an ultrasound. I have known with my others, and since dh thinks he can only produce girls, it would be nice if we could find out otherwise. LOL Not that it matters to us or anything, so I guess we will just have to see how it goes.

Oh I loved finding out with my first! It was my birthday, and DP and I and my mom went into the ultrasound room and when the tech said it was a boy I got tears in my eyes! It made it truly REAL for the first time. It was one of the best moments in my life actually.

I'll definitely be finding out again this time around.

We won't find out until the birth. I also hope to avoid any ultrasounds, so that makes the decision for me! I usually hate surprises and always try to guess or figure them out, but obviously with this I can't find out and it's fun to be surprised. We didn't find out with my first (even though I did have several ultrasounds) and it was fun to be surprised. Even though I pretty much knew it was going to be a girl that time.

I'm doing all my prenatal stuff at home, so I don't have any way to find out! I don't want to get any ultrasounds to be on the safe side, and I think even if I had to have one, I'd ask not to be told. I want to be surprised. Plus, my little sister was supposed to be Samuel Isaac... Well, needless to say my brother turned out to be a sister. I'd hate that! Plus, I'm hoping to get unisex baby gear for my baby shower and I know if I announced the sex I'd end up with a lot of blue or pink. And no, if I found out the sex I couldn't resist telling!

Yup, we'll find out here. I found out for my other two and don't think I could stand not to this time. I felt more connected to the baby after finding out and I found it cut back on the bickering dh and I had over name selection :lol

never had an u/s and don't plan on having one unless there is a very good reason for one

Yep, we'll find out at one of those Fetal Foto places. Costs like $100, and I really enjoyed the staff, and the keepsake photos and video.

we did find out with DS, but we are keeping this one a surprise!

I also don't plan on having an US. If one were actually medically indicated I would try to figure it out myself (I bet if I got frustrated I would ask though!)

I looooved being surprised at DD's birth.
If we are stuck having an ultrasound, then I want to know if the tech does. No fair someone else knowing and me not.

Oh, probably. I LOVE the idea of a surprise, but I seriously doubt I could do it. DH too. We're both terrible with waiting, the types to peek at Christmas presents :lol . I do plan to have the one ultrasound, so if the baby is cooperative, I can't imagine asking the tech not to tell us.

We found out with all of our other 3 so if an ulatrasound is necessary this time then I'm sure we'll find out again. I'd really like to be surprised, but my DH won't even consider it. Silly boy! :lol
