Hey all -
I'm Rosie, I have a 10 month old son named Camden. I had planned as soon as I was pregnant with him to try to have another before too long - I want to get all the baby stuff dealt with at once, and I want to have kids that are close in age who can interact together well. I was born 12 years after my youngest sibling and I HATED it, so I promised I wouldn't do that to Camden.
Anyways, now that I'm actually pregnant I'm not so sure I want two babies under 2 years! Well, I do want them - I'm scared of them!
Anyone else going through this? How old is your first?

I am also going through this, though Allissa is a couple of months older than Camden, I will still have 2 under the age of 2! My oldest will be 7.5, my next will be 4.5, so it will be interesting having 4 under the age of 8 running around at the same time. My oldest and my dd1 are very close in age developementally, so I imagine that having another not too far behind dd2 will be about the same. When they are little, not such a big deal, but when they are older they fight alot.

My first two are 18 months apart and it was wonderful! I was scared out of my mind, to the point of panic attacks, when I was pregnant with my second. But it was awesome! Having them so close was such a blessing...when they were babies all I had to do was sit on the floor and I could take care of both their needs at the same time. Now that they are older, they are the absolute best of friends. It's awesome.
It got harder with my third...he was a high needs baby and I had two preschoolers. #2 and #3 are 3 years apart, that was tough.

My dd is six, and ds is 12 months. I'm a bit worried about how ds will handle not being the "baby" anymore. DD loves babies and kept asking us when we were going to have another one!

Ella will be 2 and some change when this one is born - seems really close to me because me and my brother were 4 years apart. But at least Ella is verbal and walking and active, so it won't be two 'babies' - its still going to be rough.

My daughter Darlene was born Aug. 27th 2004. I found out I was 9 weeks pregnant November 30th 2004. Yep, first postpartum deed got me PREGNANT with Daphne. :lol
I won't lie, having two under 1 was EXTREMELY trying for the first year, but it got easier and easier and easier.
Then we found out (unexpectedly) we were pregnant right after Daphne's 1st birthday.
3 under 3 just seems like TOO much, but if I learned anything for having 2 under 1, it's that you adjust. It just gets easier & easier. Sure, I don't have a social life, and going anywhere is a HUGE mess, and I feel the need to get atleast 1 of them potty trained so that I don't have 3 in diapers....
but I know I'll adjust

My DD will be turning 3 when this one is born. I wanted to save my sanity and wait till she was old enough to be at least slightly helpful!

Our son is 14 months. We wanted them AT LEAST 3 years apart ( I was thinking more like 4 or 5 :) ) but God had a different plan!

My youngest just turns a year old so they will be 21 months apart maybe??? I wanted it this way and I am SO thankful it didn't take 3 1/2 yrs to get pregnant this time like it did with my last child!!!!!
My first two kids are 20 months apart and even though it is a lil tough at first I LOVE IT!! :wink

My 3rd and 4th kiddos are 13 mths apart and at first it was hard but after a while it got alot easier and they LOVE eachother so much. They also play togethor all the time. They get along great. I like that spacing alot!!

So for you moms who did the spacing similar to what I am doing - about 18-19 months apart - any words of wisdom? Do you tend to care for the newborn first if they are both crying? Did you find yourself compromising on what your first born was allowed to do? I'm terrified that my DP will end up plopping Camden down in front of the tv in the morning and plopping the new baby down with him and falling asleep on the couch.
Was there a point when it got suddenly easier to care for both of them?
