I'm had some light pink spotting today. DH is telling me not to be worried -- but it is still scary. Has anyone else had this and be ok? I'm going to call the dr. in the morning if it continues.

I don't have much advice, but lots of sympathy as I've had a lot of bleeding. I called the dr. on Friday and she couldn't get me in until Monday and that's only for a referral to an OB. Ugh. I'm so worried. I would call the dr tomorrow if I were you. But, and this is what I was told, there is no need to go to the ER unless you have heavy bleeding, abdominal pain or a fever.

I also wanted to add that I found a statistic yesterday saying that about half of first trimester bleeding is harmless. That's hopeful. :)

I would try resting for awhile and drinking lots of water. Hopefully it will stop. If it goes from spotting to full on bleeding, I would get in contact with your dr. I hope that it is nothing. :Hug

I've been going through exactly the same thing over the past week and a half. I had light pink spotting about 4 times (and it was just a little bit after going to the washroom and wiping that I noticed it) but it seems to have stopped. It is really nerve-wracking but apparently something like 30% of women have some sort of unexplained bleeding in early pregnancy and more than half of them go on to have no problems in the end. I went to my dr after the first time and she said that it might be happening because I would normally have my period during this time (and it's so early on that not all of the hormones have kicked in to stop any uterine shedding). She is sending me for two sets of bloodwork, a week apart, to measure the hormone levels to see if they are increasing (good) or decreasing (not so good). It is really stressful, though, as I never had anything like this for my other two pregnancies.
:hug Hang in there and keep us posted.

Thanks for the replies. I just had it twice this afternoon after using the bathroom. It is just pink tinted cm. I did have some spotting with DS2 that lasted for 5 days. It was around 6 weeks (same as right now) and it was unexplained. I will definately mention this at my nurse appt on Wed. if it doesn't get worse--if it gets worse I'll call immediately. Thanks for the help!

I was curious to know if those of you with spotting had any cramping or pain too?

I've had a bit of period type cramping all along with this pregnancy, and it didn't seem to get any worse when I had spotting.
I've now had 3 days of no spotting. I feel less flipped out about it, but I don't think I'll really be at ease until I can hear the heartbeat and pass the first trimester 'magic' mark.

I've had some stretching pain and some backache (which I think has been there since around the time I got the BFP). I've been really tired today. I just hate that I don't have morning sickness yet and no real symptoms (except peeing a lot and some dizziness). It is so scary to not know what is going on...

Well, I woke up with morning sickness today/nausea...which I'm hoping is a good sign. I'm still spotting, though, so I have appt. this morning at the OBs office. I'll update you this afternoon.

i started bleeding this morning. I'm due May 2007. I've been period crampy the whole last week and a bit more so this morning. DH is buying me false unicorn and lobelia right now and bringing it up to my work.
Whoever had the stats on bleeding being harmless, can you link to it?

Sasha, I would say the nausea is a very good sign. :fingersx: :1praying:
I wanted to let both you and Amanda know that I had several instances of spotting and then some outright bleeding in my first trimester with my son. He is now almost 5! I also had a tiny bit of spotting with my daughter who is almost 2.
You're both in my thoughts and prayers today. :hug

I had my appt. and had an u/s We couldn't see the baby but the tech said it was probably too early. We saw the sac and the yolk sac and it measured exactly 6 weeks (I'm 6w3d by LMP but I O'd, I thought about a week late). They want to do another u/s next week. My cervix is still closed. I think the spotting might have come from irritation from a possible YI. Thanks for all the support and help!
