View Full Version : Why am I freaking out?

I found out I was pregnant three days ago using just a standard hpt. If my calculations are right, I am about 4 weeks, 5 days. Ever since I found out, I have been freaking out about every cramp, twinge, or pain. So, this morning I decided to take another hpt just to make sure I was still pregnant (crazy, I know). I figured that if things were going the way they should, and that my numbers were doubling every 48 hours my line would be much darker. Its not. Is that something I should be concerned about? Are there any other people here having cramps?
I know once I actually get in to the doctor I will feel much better, but how to keep myself from going crazy until then ??

:thumb The line might not get much darker beyond a point.
With my last pregnancy and this one I very much felt my uterus more. It kinda feels like it's in a semi-constant state of cramping. It's normal. I read in one of my midwiery texts about the process that actually makes it feel that way- I can't remember now exactly what hormones were doing what, but IT IS NORMAL.

try not to worry as much. When I was pregnant with DS I was so crampy! Before I got my BFP I SWORE AF was about to come. Your uterus is housing a baby so it's going to feel funny :)
Also, in theory a HPT could be darker, but I've seen so many people freak because the lines were lighter or what have you. Just keep in mind that there can be different amounts of dies in HPTs (even ones the same brand) the only real way to know is to have a quantitative blood test that measures HCG.
I understand the worries, but try to relax.

Check out www.peeonastick.com she covers this. It does not mean anything as the dye can be different on each stick. Not to worry. Those twiches & stretching are a good thing, your baby is getting cozy for the next 9 months!!!
