I am trying to figure out my dates more surely.

The tests I took have sensitivity of 20mIU/ml/HCG

I took pregnancy tests on Sept 2 & 3 and thought they were negative, but when I went thru the trash last night and found them I now see the faintly positive line.

The tests I took on Sept 10 were faintly positive and I thought I may be pregnant.

Sept 11 it was pretty obvious, but still faint.

It was inarguable Sept 12.

I *thought* I ovulated the weekend of the 18th, so we used protection since we weren't planning on pregnancy.
I didn't use protection the weekend following the 24th though. . .
I don't remember if we used anything the weekend of the 1st.

We only have sex on the weekends.

Any thoughts?

Could a VERY faint line come up *right* after conception?
I was thinking the VERY faint lines were about a week after conception, but the website that sells these test strips says that you can start testing 6-8 days post-O. That would be silly of them to say if only a VERY faint line were to come up.

I AM Thinking that I conceived Aug 25, 26, 27.
That would put my due date May 20th.

Do you concur?

It looks to me like you may have conceived Sept 2 that would put your first faint line at 11 days past ovulation which would be the average time. That puts your due date May 28th ish.

The tests on the 2 and 3rd don't count because a faint line will appear after the normal reading time and it's not a positive it's just where the antibody strip is.

I agree with pp. You likely conceived Sept 2/3.

those internet cheapies have a very bad reputation of nasty evaporation lines. They'll even show up before the 10 minute mark. I first started using them almost 2 years ago. I wouldn't use them again b/c of that. they almost always have an evaporation line after the 10 minute mark which is what you would've seen from the trash ones. Check out peeonastick.com. Great website. They have pics of evaporation lines to compare

I agree with you, Laura, about the 24-27th weekend.

There's no way you could get a positive before implantation, which is 6-10 days after conception. You're more likely to get a positive 14 days after ovulation.

Also remember that the sperms may have hung out for a few days before O and conception.

I conceived from sex that same weekend, although I estimate ovulation to be the 28th, making my due date May 21st. We can be due together!

The only thing is that of the two I took on the Weekend of the 2nd and 3rd the lines are definitly differnt darkeness, though both are light. I remeber in the back of my mind that the "impregnanted" line as I call it was more aparent than normal. I've seen the evap lines before on these and they were a little different- like grayer- and more dependent on angle of light.

The more I think about it the more I think it must have been the weekend of Aug 25. Those very faint ones were probably right after implant and the faint, but apparent ones must have been at the two week mark.

THANKS! I love getting imput :)

Jessitron- If we are due together too it would JUST BE WEIRD. Did you see my post after yours in the roll call?

Yes! And I read your birth story. What was Seamus's due date and birth date? Evelyn was 1/29 and 2/7, respectively.

Are you going to go to an OB for backup, in case you have to transfer again? Then you could get an ultrasound for dating, if you really want to know. But really, within a week is close enough when you're planning a homebirth, without a strict schedule.

With Seamus I was either 2/14 or 2/21 (again I was unsure and spit between two weekend dates!) He was born 2/6/05
No OB, yeah I figure a week is good enough. :)

So I checked out that peeonastick.com and I realized that I was undersaturating the pee stick. They are all streaky like in the pictures. The control line always showed up. I saw that the website said dip for three seconds, but this was after I used them and only dipped for about a second.

OOPS

I wonder if my lines would have been darker if I had dipped them the right ammount of time.

Ok So how did you know when you conceived? I simply went by my last MP and it came up 5/19.

I would think you were probably 14 dpo when you got your BFP which would have put you at Oing around September 29th. If you bd the weekend before (25th-27th) that makes sense!

Well, I don't know exactly. Are you aware of your cervical mucus at all? I *thought* I had mucus indicating impending ovulation on the 16-18 of August, but I wasn't actually writing this stuff down. . .I'm a lazy charter.

If your cycles are 28 days ovulation comes ~14 days after the first day of MP. If your cycle isn't 28 days you need to subtract 28 from your usual cycle legnth and add that number to 5/19. If your cycles aren't regular there isn't any special trick.
