Well, this is my last official day of maternity leave (I'm not counting weekends).

I got up and did everything I anticipate needing to do every morning. Everyone got where they needed to be on time. He's with dcp now so he'll have at least spent some time there. I tell you, if she wasn't so great (and she IS...mom of seven who were cd and bf and #7 was even worn in a sling), I'd have to run away with my kids to a magical land where mommies never have to leave. Ugh.

I decided rather than using the time to relax and let myself get antsy, I'd Rug Doctor the living room and hallway. It helped a little. Now I have brighter stained crapet. Yes, crapet. It's that bad.

At least I know it's clean. Looking at the water it sucked up, I can't believe I even live here, let alone lay on the floor! Yucky!!!

Sometimes I think anticipating something not so great is worse than the actual event itself. I really feel for you. Here's a :hug to help you get through the weekend.

BTW, this just cracked me up bc I so relate!

It's my "last day" too (not counting weekends)... I am NOT looking forward to Monday. Ugh.

How's this? Let's send each other good "cope with first day back at work" thoughts as we go to work... What do you think?

Anyway, I don't know what to say other than here's a hug ((:hug))... (I sure need one about now, anyway).

Ah. Life isn't so bad, ya know.

I went to pick him up and she was feeding the older children their lunch. He was sitting in a bouncer watching everyone do their thing...right on the kitchen table. Yay. He was happy.

He didn't take more than two sips of the ebm I took for him. STINKER! It'd been frozen already so I'll let gramma feed him this evening while I pump. I can't bear to pour it down the sink. Gramma will be pleased, too.

He was ready to nurse when I got there and I sat down with him...she's interested in the sign language (her name is Rose and we're going to have a sign for her, too...an "R" waving back and forth) and she's jealous they didn't have all this stuff when she had her seven. :( We do the sign for "milk" under our chins, so I told her if he starts milking his chin 8 months or so from now, she knows what he's doing. lol

All in all, the "test run" went well. Knowing today went smoothly and that I'll get to see him on my lunch hour should make Monday a bit easier. I hope.

Ione...lots of warm fuzzy vibes and psychic hugs headed your way. (Though, living where I do, I'd say having to work in Paris doesn't sound so terrible. LOL!) Good luck, mama!!

Chelle and Ione--good luck to you two...I will be thinking of you.

Chelle--it sounds like great daycare. I am glad you feel good about your lil one going there.
