I have had slight AF like cramps for almost a week now, but they seem to be going away. I have been told this is normal, but it still seems weird to me. If I wasn't pg, AF could have come Sat or Sun, which is when I started spotting. I got some pink blood one time and then some brown spotting for the next few days. I haven't had any today, though. I read in my Dr. Sears pg book that maybe my body didn't quite get the memo that I am pg and it is menstrual blood. That makes sense I guess. We dtd the night before, and I read that could cause it, too. I have never bled from sex before, though. I keep taking pg tests and the line keeps getting darker, so hcg is increasing, right? This is my first pg and I tend to freak out about everything.

hugs!
Spotting can be normal...I spotted off and on for the first two trimesters in my first pregnancy, and I'm having some spotting this time round as well.
Spotting right around the time of the first missed AF is usually considered to be the implantation bleeding (some women have it, some don't). And your cervix has changed a fair bit due to the pregnancy hormones...post sex spotting isn't uncommon since you're now going to have a lot more blood flowing through that area and the tissue is going to be more easily bumped!
In general, anything in the pale pink, brown-ish, dull red color is usually okay especially if it's just when you wipe. Heavier spotting (staining your underwear or needing a pad) or anything in the bright red color range could warrent a quick call to your care provider. Especially if it comes with cramping or a fever.
I know it's stressfull (believe me, I know!) but in the early months of pregnancy there's nothing you can really do to prevent a miscarriage if that is what's in the cards. But not all spotting means a mc is on the way! It's hard to be relaxed when spotting during pregnancy, but check with your care provider and remember it's not uncommon.
There's a thread in the pregnancy forums called "When the spotting was okay..." that you might want to look at since it's got some great support.
And welcome to the DDC!

I always get cramping with pregnancies in the first month. I usually have implantation bleeding. It has always been bright red and lasted one day. I have read recently that it can be brown as well. Good luck. Shawna
