Our ddc is officially here!!! Congratulations to all the mamas to be!!!!

Let me introduce myself:

My name is Melissa. This will be my first human baby, I have 2 kitty babies. I am so excited to be a mama. I am nanny and a student. My dh is wonderful and we are so excited to be parents. I am planning to become a waldorf teacher someday. I love knitting and am working on my first baby item, an infant hat. (I will post pics when I'm done). I had a mc in early July, so I am hoping this babe sticks. I had my first mama dream last week, I was nursing a 6-7 month old baby boy! So we'll see what we get. I am planning a homebirth, and I am 5 weeks along. Nice to meet you all and I am excited about getting to know everyone else.

Hi Beth, Congratulations to you too!!! I am so glad to have an experienced mama on here to talk with. That is great that you homeschool! As time goes by I will have to drill you for questions about your homebirths.

Lots of love!

Hey! I'm Betsy and this is my second babe. My first is my almost 1 year old dd. She was born at home with a midwife in the water :thumb It was awesome! I highly recommend water birth!

I'm somewhere between 5 and 6 weeks along... I'm 99% sure that I ovulated 12 days late this cycle (due to nursing) based on spotting during implantation - I always spot then... and this time it was 12 days later than usual (I had a m/c before dd) - which would make my due date July 1st. My last cycle before this was 55 days... And I really hope this baby's a little later than the first because I always volunteer at the local Rotary rummage sale at the end of June and I can still volunteer as long as the bun's in the oven. It'll help move labour along towards the end maybe... I hope I'll feel up to it  I've volunteered there for the last 10 years.

It's so good to have our own ddc finally! I'm happy to be here and to meet you all!!!

love and peace. :love

Wanna use this as our nice to meet you thread?
Here's my intro from my other post..
I'm due on 7-2-7 with my biological 3rd child, but I have a bonus ds who is 8 and has always lived with us. My other children are ds-5 and dd-19 months. We had been TTC since July and I also had a miscarriage.
I am planning a homebirth! I can't wait.. I'm a Doula and this is going to be so exciting to use all of the knowledge that I have accumulated finally!!
I am trying to go by the Bradley diet and everything else I can so that I do not get pre-eclampsia again (had it with dd)!!!
I had a weird dream the night before I tested (said that I am having a girl)and I feel that I am having a girl... I *knew* with the other 2 as soon as I got pregnant too and was right!
Nice to meet you all!! *wave*

Hooray! Our DDC is up!!!

I was thinking that we should have an official intro thread, so that newbies can easily find it, read it and post to it (this thread might get lost along the way in the next 40 weeks or so). So being the keener that I am I'm going to take a bit of inspiration from the June DDC and set up a similar arrangement as thay had.

Congratulations everyone! I am really looking forward to sepnding the next 9 months or so with you all.

Hello, I'm Cindy and I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant with my fourth. According to my LMP my due date is June 28 so I think it's pretty much a toss up whether I'll deliver in June or July. My first two were 4-5 days late and my last was 4 days early. This will be my third homebirth :).

Good to meet all of you!

Let's see if I can overcome my increasingly sluggish pregnancy brain and get a cohesive post out. I live in Vancouver, BC with my 2 boys, Alias and Harrison and my amazing husband. This is will be our third and last baby (for us 3 is the magic number), so we're pretty excited. I work from home as a wholesaler/sales rep. for various baby accessory manufacturers, and my husband is now mostly at home as a part time University student and helping me with work and the boys, so I'm thinking this pregnancy is going to go pretty smoothly. I even get to nap! :thumb

We're planning a home birth. Our second was a surprise home birth, labour and delivery all just went so fast! It was such an amazing experience, we wouldn't want to birth anywhere else.

Its so exciting to see so many homebirthers in our ddc! It is really nice to be around all you natural mamas. Nice to meet you! I hope the next nine months goes smoothly for all.

I have been soooo tired today and will probably go to bed by 8pm. I just had a wonderful dinner that I picked up at our local earthbound farms. It was pumpkin soup, rye berry salad, and salad greens. YUM!

I'm excited to see so many homebirthers as well! As I posted in the roll call my names Alissa and this will be my second child. James was born at home- well, at the home the midwives use as an office. I was so glad to finally go into labor. At 42 weeks when I had to go in for an ultrasound I was so worried the Dr. would reccomend induction, but happily the doctor who did the U/S said "everything looks alright. Have a good home birth, but come back in two days if you're not in labor." The morning of the second day my water broke, and that night I went into labor. I'm hoping to not go that far overdue this time!! I'm certainly feeling more naseau (sp?) this time, and I'm still nursing so I'm really hungry. Mostly feeling really happy to be pregnant though.

Hi all, I'm Stacy, too. I'm 30 years old, and mommy to two little ones--Nora (3.5) and Henry (1.5). I'm excited to be pregnant with #3! We're going into this pregnancy with the expectation that #3 will be our last baby, but we'll reevaluate that later to be sure we're done.

We will be moving right around our due date to a different state for DH's job (due July 4, last day of work here July 7). Not sure how everything will time itself out with that, but I can say that we will be having movers move us! So, hopefully it will be fairly smooth. I've always given birth at least 6 days late, so I guess we could have a car birth! Funny to joke about, but not so funny in reality, I imagine.

As for me; I like to exercise, eat, cook new and interesting foods, read, chat to friends, and watch movies. I look forward to getting to know you all!

My name is Amanda, and I'm 21. Me and my hubby just got married this past May. We originally planned on waiting about 5 years until TTC, but then we decided, "why wait?" and a couple weeks later I got the BFP! We are very excited. This is my first, and I'm very interested in the whole homebirth thing, but now that this is really happening its overwhelming! I just need to breathe and take it all one step at a time. Luckily, it seems like most of you mamas are homebirthing, so I can get all the advice I need from you! So what are the first steps that everyone is taking in preparing for your baby?

Mellybelly, good to be here with you- I'm doing my waldorf training at the moment! Hope we'll have lots to talk about!

I just posted a little on another of our threads, but I'll add my intro here too :)

I'm Julia, due 7/1, with ds Galen who will be 4 in less than 4 weeks (how did that happen?!). ds was a natural hospital birth with a midwife, in another town. we are planning a homebirth for this one. neat to see so many here! I really don't like the local hospital-- very not up-to-date from what I witnessed with one of my SILs a few weeks ago.

I teach sustainable living workshops, we are part of an organic family farm, working on homesteading and radical unschooling (unofficially, since we don't have to report until ds is 6). dh mills corn, tunes and repairs pianos, makes pottery, and builds things.

nice to meet everyone!

Looks like I've found the Intro post!

My name is Clara- the edd of our little one is 07-15-07. This is my second pregnancy (I lost the first in Dec 2000 at about 6-7 weeks gestation) and I am praying for a healthy pregnancy. My husband and I have just moved to MI and as grace would have it, finally sold our house in IL on Tuesday!

I am a doula, and a kindergarten teacher. Right now I am teaching kindergarten in the afternoons at a private Christian school and temporarily teaching preschool in the AM until they find someone (and, I will be training her this week!) Praise God for that also, as I really don't want to be there in the mornings anymore.

I am married to the world's most awesome man. We have a 18 week old puppy (Lab/ Border Collie/ ?) mix named Lola who is a total scream and a half. She's going to be so excited when her little pal is born this summer!

We want a homebirth. I have two names to check out for HB midwives, and we will see what happens! We won't be telling our families until Christmas or New Year, whenever I work up the confidence to know this pregnancy will stick! God is good though, and He has a clear plan for us, and it will work to His glory.

H&H 9 to us all!

Clara

Ok - I am officially posting and adding myself to this group (after lurking for the last 2 weeks). I got some VERY faint lines 2 days ago (10dpo) - some stronger lines yesterday - and now today I can call myself "officially pregnant" :lol
I am so excited - My name is chelsea, I have one daughter who was born last July - so looks like I am destined to be a July mama - though my due date last time was Aug 4th - and my girl decided to come 3 weeks early!

I am still a little nervous about telling people (only DH and I know so far) as my first pg ended in an early m/c at 6 weeks - but I am thinking lots of sticky vibes and have faith this one will be fine!

I am a part-time realtor (currently on haitus as the market is horrible) and also a yoga teacher - hoping to get a nice prenatal class going for me and some students in the next 9 months!

I am looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing our ups and downs in the next 9 months and more...I am going to work through this thread backwards...

DoulaClara - I think I have seen you post on some of the detroit area threads - hope to meet you soon!

goddessjulie - I love that you are part of an organic family farm - I am so jealous - I grew up on a farm and hope to get back to that lifestyle - for the moment - we belong to an organic farm CSA.

mellybelly & pillowhead - I would be excited to hear more about the Waldorf schools and teacher training - we are hoping to send our kids to the local Rudolph-Steiner Waldorf school - I love the philosophy and creativity and would love to work there one day!

Amanda - relax and just focus on eating and being healthy for the moment - maybe start interviewing some midwives!

Sleet and mommyx2 - I am going to be confused with 2 Stacys! Sleet - good luck with the move - any chance you could change the date so it is not so close to your due date? Mommyx2 - I hear you on the 14 month old being a handful! My girl is almost 16 months and I am a little worried at how to deal with being pg and take care of all her (many) needs - here is hoping for an easy pg for us both!

Lissy - nice that your dr. didn't push induction - that is a rare find! Let's hope none of us go too far overdue!

mirthfulmum - my dd labor was quick like your 2nd - 4.5 hours from the first contraction to holding her in my arms - it was pretty intense though - I wouldn't mind a little more relaxing birth this time... I agree about the home birth - wouldn't do it any other way!:thumb

Springbabes - another homebirther - YAY!

IamPink - I remember you from the TTC forum - awesome that you "know" the sex - I had no idea last time and would be happy either way this time.

Betsy - I loved my waterbirth too! We have a big jaccuzi bathtub at home, and we still take family baths and I love the fact that my girl was born right there!

Beth- I am interested in homeschooling too - I might have to pick your brain. Is it harder to homeschool with pregnancy brain?:p

Mellybelly - I would love to learn to knit - I tried to teach myself last pregnancy - but I could never get the stitches all the same size :dizzy: - it was just a big mess...

Gosh - I am really chatty today! :lol I guess I am just excited! I still can't believe I am really pg - I keep looking at my tests over and over again - I took a total of 8 poas tests over the last 3 days (thank god for internet cheapies) - ending with a First Response this morning that made it all clear. My symptoms so far:
really sore boobs, swollen and achy with some sharp shooting pains too...
a little nausea, really burpy and gassy and super hungry all the time
really tired, but have insomnia and trouble getting to sleep
back is very achy too - especially low back
DD has been nursing like a fiend! That was one thing I saw you mamas talking about on another thread - and how I believed I was really pg when the tests were unclear. I don't think my supply has gone down at all - maybe she "senses" the competition coming or it has already changed in taste.

Ok - gotta run and tear my girl away from the TV - I let her watch Sesame Street in the morning :hide: - she LOVES elmo! Plus, it gives me a small break to clean up breakfast dishes, etc. But that is all I want her to watch - she is still too young - I don't want to turn her into a reality tv junkie like her mom!:p

Happy & Healthy 9 months+ to us all!

Hi everyone!

I'm Suzy. I just got my positive this morning, at 14 DPO. The line was very faint, but my luteal phase is usually 10 days or less, so I'm pretty sure I belong here. I've been TTC my first for over a year so I'm very very excited... and nervous.

I live in SE Michigan, near Detroit. I'm a librarian, and I have two adorable long-haired cats and an almost as adorable computer geek husband.

Congrats, everybody!

my intro..

My name is Alia and I found out on Nov. 2nd that we're expecting our second child. We have a 26 month old son named Rowan. This pregnancy wasn't exactly planned but we're very happy about it anyway! I feel it was just meant to be.

Anyway, planning on a homebirth and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi everyone! I'm excited to join you ladies-- I've been stalking you all week because I suspected I'd be joining you! I just got a clear :+ tonight and we are talking about all that fun stuff-- midwife appts, when to tell our 20 month old DS, when to tell family, etc. We will have the birth in the birthcenter where we had DS, and we're really hoping we can get the same midwife. We have been trying since July but I only had 1 PPAF just prior to this month. It's still really early, though, so we are praying for a :sticky .

Looking forward to spending the next 9 months with all of you here!
