Pregnancy Dreams

I noticed a few mentions of pregnancy dreams. I thought it'd be fun to see any odd preggo dreams ya'll have had.

I've had two so far- both before I knew I was pregnant. In the first, which was pretty simple, there was a baby (apparently mine) and I didn't know if it was a boy or girl. Then they lifted the blanket and it was a girl. In my first pregnancy I had a somewhat similar dream and it proved accurate about having a boy....

In the second I was in line for airport security and got stopped, and the guy was having to analyze all this stuff about me and all of a sudden he's squirting something on this contraption and a plus sign shows up in a window and he says- see, that means you're pregnant. Hee hee- that's what I get for traveling so darn much last month.

I took the pg test on Saturday partially because Friday night I dreamed I was back at college visiting the dining hall where I used to work as Student Manager (restocking drinks and dishes during meals mostly). They needed a SM the night I visited and I was really excited (I LOVED the job), but was thinking, "will I be able to lift the 5 gallon milk carton into the dispenser since I might be pregnant?" So I took the test when I woke up and it was positive! :loveeyes:

This is the reason that I tested the following evening. (my dream from Sunday night)

My dh and I were in our house (but it wasn't the house we live in now) and he was complaining about a box in the basement like he always did (we don't have a basement?!). When he went to work and everyone else in the family went to the parade (?) I ran onto the box. I finally decided to open it once and for all. As soon as I did, I started crying (in real life too). There was a little girl with blonde curly hair, blue eyes, looking up at me. She was just a baby (maybe 13-14 months) and she was dressed for winter, even though it was summer. At first I thought she had Down-Syndrome, but then the more she stared at me, and I at her, I realized that she was perfect (never did find out if she had D-S?). I put her to my breast right away ( I haven't nursed in a good year!?) So I ran in and called my children's ped. and told him what happened. He said that the people that used to live in my house were rumored to have a child, but nobody ever found out for sure.
While I was talking to him, I decided to see what was in another box that I just realized was in the basement. It had a tiny little horse in it. A real live horse, but it was the size of the baby. I got it out and gave it some water.
Went to see my midwife for some answers and to have the baby checked out. She grabbed my tacklebox (?) and put some syringes in it. She was whispering telling me when to take which drug to help my cycles. I had to go back because I couldn't remember and she whispered to my friend, who just happened to be in the room?!, that I was pregnant.

nope, no pregnancy dreams. Which is a bit weird 'cause I usually have them.

Dh and I have been trying to concieve for a few months. The stress finally got to us and we gave up in Aug. Well in Setp I had a dream that the next time I got pregnant it would be with twin boys. The again last week I have the same dream and 2 days later tested positive. Part of me thinks this would be great and the other part doesnt think I could handle it.

IAmPnk that is a wild dream! Have you looked into what the horse means? That would be interesting. Since I tested I kept referring to the baby as a she, and so does dh, but a couple nights ago I dreamed it was a boy!:scratch We will just find out in about 8 more months i guess!

Oi...I had some doosies when I was pg! Once I dreamed I forgot to feed my baby for like a week! Another time I dreamed baby was cold so I put her in the oven! EEK!

I had my first last night!

I was very very pregnant and DH and I were getting married (we're already married irl). It was all very romantic and lovely. Maybe this baby will bring us closer together?
The midwife I'd hired was also marrying us, but another "midwife" arrived, one who I'd interviewed and NOT hired. She was a doctor but also an herbalist and she brought her son along to help with births. :shrug She was pulling out all these very strong herbs to induce my labor. I was just looking at her like she was nuts. :lol So maybe there are some concerns about this birth being medicalized in some way? I'm going to be very careful about who (if anyone) I choose to attend me in labor.

So my dream last night....
Me and dh were shopping, and my placenta fell out!!! So what did we do? We picked it up off the floor and threw it in the shopping cart!! It was just laying there oozing blood and dripping everywhere, and we just went along shopping. I guess the baby was in no danger, magically. Very weird! I don't know what this could mean, anyone care to analyze?

These are great! I haven't had any dreams involving a baby yet, last time I dreamt the baby kicked so hard he punched a hole in my stomach.
My dreams are more vivid and the best one I've had yet was flying a plane with dh copiloting, with hiim sitting in the front and me behind and I think Iwas the better pilot.

I'm training to be a waldorf teacher and last week we were talking about festivals of light for this time of year. We are meant to be more in tune with our dreams right now as the spirit world is closer to us now than possibly any time of the year. Look out for dead relatives in dreams as well (just a little more craziness to add to pg dreams!)

Last night I had the most vivid dream I have ever had. It was like watching a technicolor movie. Really, really weird and I totally attribute it to my raging hormones. I don't want to get into the dream because it was more of a nightmare, but just wanted to say these pregnancy dreams are real! I hope the next movie-dream I have is a good one!

I did have another pregnancy dream about a week and a half after conceiving. I dreamt my husband and me were visiting my brother-in-law and his wife because they recently had a baby girl (in real life and the dream). I happened to find an old prescription from when she was pregnant; it read, "Heard heartbeat today." Then at the bottom of the prescription, written as if it were the diagnosis, it said, "Sticky Bean." I was elated which seemed weird even in the dream because the baby had been born for weeks so in the dream I was confused as to why I was so happy.

I found out I was pregnant about a week later and I think the dream was trying to tell me I was pregnant and I have no proof of this (of course!) but I also think the dream was telling me that I won't miscarry. I have never had a dream about anything baby or pregnancy related before so I find that interesting too.

I had a dream a few mos ago about my cousin and I. It was Thanksgiving and we were at the house I grew up in (still in the family) she had pregnancy test. We decided to head to the bathroom together and take them. They were positive. When I woke up I couldn't get her out of my head.. we hadn't really spoke in about a year so I decided to check out myspace to see if she had updated recently. Come to find out she sent me a letter talking about getting pregnant and this and that. We tested that month both of us came up negative. We are now less than 2 weeks away from Thanksgiving and tested together today and both of us are positive!! I have had numerous dreams about being pregnant within the last month and tests..

The one dream I had about a baby was giving birth at home and having twins. I had a boy and a girl in my bathroom, for a dream it was very empowering. After I gave birth all I can remember is holding the baby girl.. I think my dh was holding the little boy but I was just blown away by this little girl and I even named her in the dream. Can you tell I really want a girl.. and thinking about that dream now I am trippin out that it's twins! :dizzy:
