Is anyone else concerned about weight gain for this pregnancy?
This is my first pregnancy starting out overweight. I'm just about 10 pounds overweight, but I already feel hugely fat just from my own bodyweight plus the bit of bloating I've got from the pregnancy. :o I've been really watching what I eat since I found out I was pregnant, but I do realize it isn't good to starve oneself.
I never dreaded gaining weight with my other pregnancies like I am dreading it this time. I don't know how to deal with these feelings other than to watch what I eat carefully and try to stay active. *sigh* But I know I'm going to be huge in a few months no matter what I do and it's depressing.
Anyone else dealing with these feelings?

Beth, are you wanting someone to give you a talking-to? Pregnancy is not a time to watch what you eat :nono. There, I've said it :innocent .
That said, yes, I'm starting out bigger this time than with my other pregnancies. 10 lbs more is about right :o . Really, I'm trying not to think about how big I'm going to end up. And I'm trying to listen to my body and eat when I'm hungry. My advice: pig out on healthy food and phase out all sugar :). Here's to getting fat together:belly .

Yep, me too.
Since I know that this is our last baby, I'm not quite that worried about the weight. What doesn't come off while nursing is sure to afterwards.
I say that now cause I just ate some waffles with cottage cheese!! lol

:yeah: I am also starting out about 10 lbs more than should be. Dh told me the other night that he thinks Im pregnant with twins because Im gaining weight already.....not a good thing to say to an emotional pregnant woman! :firedevil SO I have been trying to eat healthy but still eat when Im hungry. The important thing is to feed the baby healthy!

i'm starting out about 60 lbs mor than I should be for my height, I'm not worried to much though because I've never gained alot during my previous pregnancies and I know there is no point in obsessing over it. If I have to I will join weight watchers after delivery. I lost over 70 lbs with them after having my dd.

I would like to be about 10 pounds lighter than I am too, although according to BMI I'm ok where I started. I just hope I don't gain more than I did with ds. I'm going to try to keep up a walking routine along with healthful foods and not much sugar; we'll see if I succeed! :)

Me too. I gained 50 lbs. with my first, after losing 40 the previous year on a low carb diet. Since then I have maybe lost 20 so I was about at my previous (pre-atkins weight) when I found out that I was pg. I had just had my IUD removed and was starting to feel like I could get down to a healthier weight (had lost maybe 5 lbs.) I do not want to gain 50 this time! I am not the healthiest eater to begin with, and now I have the icky sicky picky tummy so nothing good for me sounds good. I am trying - just ate a handful of raw almonds yum.

I found a really cool website called www.babyfit.com
It calculates your body mass and how many calories you should be eating when you are pregnant or nursing. It even tracks how much water you are drinking and your kegels! :thumb Its pretty neat if you want to help hold yourself accountable for what you are eating.

:yeah: Being my last pg, I'm not going to stress about it as long as I/we stay healthy that's all that matters.
