Oh man, we got Chinese take-out for dinner tonight, I was just craving prawns and broccolli in spicey bean sauce. And once it came to the door, and I got a whiff of it I became just insanely hungry! I ate the enitre container all to myself (well I did share a couple of prawns). I can't believe I ate the whole thing in one sitting! And the really scary thing is that if there'd been another container of it I probably would've eaten that too. Then I took one look at the fried rice and lost my appetite. :lol

Don't forget to "fall back" tonight. Daylight savings begins at 2am Sunday morning.

Gosh... I totally would have forgotten that if you hadn't posted about it :dizzy: Thank you :thumb

I've been so lazy lately... I just want to sleep all the time... and I cannot wait till the owners of the dog we're dog-sitting get back on Wednesday because I am going nuts with two dogs in the house. Especially one that we didn't train so she thinks the furniture is hers :p Not cool.

love and peace. :love

You're welcome. :wink

Okay the nausea has officially set in with a vengence. I woke up around 3 am with horrible nausea and stomach cramps. I was in and out of sleep, and trying to be patient as my 2 year old wanted to nurse. Ugh! It was horrible! I got up this morning feeling just awful. I was really hoping the morning sickness wasn't comming this time but it seems to be arriving right on schedule, I'm almost 6 weeks. Oh I hope it passes soon.

I'm really starting to not enjoy this pregnancy thing. :gloomy: I'm feeling queasy most of the time and nothing I eat seems to settle my stomach. Smells are really starting to get to me, and is there any way to stay hydrated during pregnancy!?!?!? I remember from my other pregnancies the dry mouth at night (I'm a mouth breather) and it's already started again. Not to mention I constantly feel exhausted which isn't good when you have three busy kids to chase and clean up after. *sigh*

Wow, it's quiet around here... Everyone must either be napping or to nauseous to get to the computer.

Maybe we need a topic or something to get going. We all seem to be responding to the specific threads.
So far today and yesterday I'm feeling less nauseaus. It winds up making me feel worried instead of better! Like hey wait- where did that simptom go? Then again peeing is my main hobby by now, so I assume all is well.

Hello everyone!

I took another test this morning (haven't taken one in a week) and it was super dark! So, I was very excited. I think I'm about 4 1/2 weeks now.

We're actually going for our first ultrasound on the 15th. I can't wait! It wasn't supposed to be until the 30th, but, I think my doctor wants to make sure everything is going well since I'm on progesterone and that could mask a miscarriage.

Anyone hoping for a certain sex? or have any feelings about it?

We'd be happy with either. Financially a girl could be better since our dd was an August baby so we could hopefully reuse all her clothes! But, we'd be very happy with a boy. I'm one of 3 girls and we have 3 girls in the next generation, too. We're convinced it's going to be all girls for all of us! LOL My younger sister is pregnant with her first and due the month before me, so, we'll be finding out in another 7-8 weeks what she's having!

Then again peeing is my main hobby by now, so I assume all is well.

:rotflmao i feel the same way!

I felt slightly nauseus this morning, I was a little excited, I admit it! Anyone else have a very powerful sense of smell lately?? Last night I got in the car with my hubby...

Me: "What smells like mint?!"
Him: "I don't smell anything"
Me: "Something in this car smells like mint!!"

We later figured out it was from my dad who was chewing gum in the car about 3 hours before. :lol I guess the smell stayed in the car.

sleet76
10-30-2006, 10:45 AM
I haven't noticed any super-nose powers for anything pleasant (like mint!), but my DS's diapers are overwhelming me! For some reason, it is the urine smell that is more troubling to my stomach than poop. Ew.

I also re-took a pregnancy test yesterday, and was excited to see a much darker line.

I've been considering taking another pregnancy test. It's always nice to see those really strong dark lines.

Oh and my sense of smell has become hightened as well. Yesterday I had to change H's poopy diaper, I thought I might be sick. I remember I had the smell problem during my last pregnancy. Ugh!

Anyone have any cravings yet?

Let's talk emotions.
I had to go to my great-grandmother's estate auction Saturday morning (gotta love greedy cousins when they are the executor). I cried for the first 3 hours of it... non freakin stop!! It was just awful. Everything that they held up, I wanted to buy!
I am proud of myself that I didn't go into debt buying stuff, but my house is entirely too small for the stuff that I did buy (um, like a dining room set that includes a hutch that is sitting in my living room cause with the bar and table and buffet- there's no more room!). But I couldn't let strangers take her stuff! So, I kept buying things. The more that I bought, the more I cried when they would bring it to me.
It was just awful.

I've got a lot of catching up to do! And we got some more mamas while I was gone.. yippeee!!

I hope you guys all had a good weekend. I am so excited, I am 6 weeks today! I really wish I could speed to 17 weeks. That just seems like a good time.

Although this nauseau is getting stronger today and I have peed like 6 times in the last 20 minutes, it wasnt so bad yesterday which worked out well because we went to San Francisco. I went shopping at a new mall there with my sil while my dh and her husband went to the opera. They are lawyers so they do fancy stuff. :lol It was fun though and I ended buying my first baby items!! I was already annoyed with how gender biased everything is. But I did find this cute organic cotton onsie set, check out their web site.

http://www.kee-ka.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=dfhui

I got the "you are my sunshine" top with these cute mustard colored leggings. I also bought some blue knit booties that cost way too much (I am determined to make some myself for way cheaper). Then on the way home we went to my parents house and told them the good news. Luckily my sisters were both there so it was really fun! I had been dying to tell my mom about this pregnancy but wanted it to be special. So, I handed my parents the bag with the booties in it and said, "Look what Donny got me!" My dh and I thought it was really funny because he literally "gave" me a baby. Anways...my mom opened it up and was like, OH!!!!! You're pregnant! She was really thrilled and so was my dad. It was really sweet.

So that was my weekend. Now if I can get some energy to work on my paper for my child development class, erg.:irked:

Havent had any really bad nauseau yet. The only timeI seem to get it is when Im hungry. We were in Walmart last night and I got hungry within 5 minutes I had that Im so hungry I could puck feeling. As soon as I ate it went away.
Definetly have the pg nose. I smelled smores the other day. DH couldnt smell anything. I smelled rosted marshmellows. So I went outside to feed the dog and sure enough there is the neighbor making smores. LOL!!! Now I want one.
We went out of town yesterday and had Burger King for lunch. They only thing that sounded good was their Herseys chocolate pie. It was so good. About 830 last night I wanted one again but we dont have a BK so I sent hubby to the store to find anything close. Hes so good....found the exact pie! Yummy!
Other than that the weekend was good. Woke up this morning to bleeding so Im very concerned. My nurse thinks its implantation spotting by what I described but we are still keeping a close eye on things. So please pray that things are ok.

Anyone hoping for a certain sex? or have any feelings about it?

I have three girls and, honestly, I would be so so so happy to have a boy. Of course, the standard disclaimer goes here that I'll be happy with a healthy baby plain and simple, and I really truly will be, but I ache for a son. :o I don't have a feeling either way yet.

I've been considering taking another pregnancy test. It's always nice to see those really strong dark lines.

I had ordered some tests from somewhere online (babyhopes?) and they didn't arrive until two days after I'd tested positive. There were actually for my next cycle since I was so sure I wasn't pregnant. Anyway, I figured I'd sell them on the TP or something. I'm such a dork, I took all three over the next three days. It is fun seeing those dark lines.:o

Let's talk emotions.

That has been my number one issue with this pregnancy, though morning sickness is catching up to it. I'm either completely depressed or super *itchy.:o

I'm sorry, IamPink. :( That must have been hard.

:hug mommyX2. I hope it's nothing.

I am sick and sick and sick of being sick. :( I never feel good and I am so down and depressed. :gloomy:

Hmmm... the gender question. Well I'm in a similar situation as 2much2luv. I have 2 boys now. I love and adore my boys, they are my heart. But it would be nice to have a little girl. Ever since I was little I'd always pictured my "perfect" family as having 2 boys and a girl, so I've got my 2 boys, I kinda just expect this babe to be a girl. That being said I would be thrilled for another little boy to join our family. 3 boys just sounds like a big chaotic mass of fun. When Dh and I agreed to go for our third and last babe, we had to agree that if we get pregnant we have to be expecting a boy. Statistically speaking we're more likely to have a boy based on that we already have 2 boys. So I didn't want to go in trying for a girl. It seemed wrong to TTC just to get one gender. There's no guarantees, and I've heard too many stories of women trying one last time for that boy/girl, not getting it and being terribly dissapointed and depressed. So sad for the momma and the little babe.

mellybelly - What a sweet way to tell you parents.

mommy-X-2 - :fingersx: :sticky

2much2luv & the other queasy mommas out there - :hug Have you tried drinking pepermint tea? Chewing ginger candy? Munching fennel seed? All things that worked for me in the past.

I haven't had the chance (or a settled enough stomach) to get to the store to buy anything to try yet. I've tried peppermint mints because they were already here. It's hard to decide what might work because nothing sounds appatizing at all. I'll try to pick up something gingery today.
I was never this sick with my others.

Hi! I'd like to be added too~ I've spent the last 4 months lurking daily in the TTC forum without actually being added because I felt like I just didn't really belong there. We weren't supposed to be TTC, but we weren't TTA either, just left it up to God. Apparently a baby was meant to be, because we got our BFP this morning!!! I'm thrilled, but a bit scared too~ our youngest is 11 so it's been awhile since there's been a babe around. (And of course I sold all the baby stuff in a garage sale years ago)
Anyway, I think it's really cool to see familiar names from the TTC board~ I was rooting for you all, and there should be more joining here soon~ there were 3 BFP's today!
FF has my due date as July 11, so I think I'm just barely 4 weeks along, if that. The nausea, dizziness and headaches have already started which is giving me hope for a healthy and sticky early pregnancy.
Congrats everyone!!

While I got my bfp yesterday on a digital test, I felt like I really needed to see that blue line to even start to believe that after 15 months, I am actually pregnant. I woke up before dawn today (I couldn't stay asleep) and just tested on a cheapie drug store test. :+ So, here I am! And, it's so good to see familiar ppl from ttc... :grouphug

:sticky :sticky :sticky :sticky for Shelly and all you mamas here!

I am only 4.5 weeks so far.

My symptoms:
+ random sudden exhaustion
+ emotional/forgetful
+ cramps (not as much now)
+ diarrhea (my body's normal version of nausea/barfing)
+ super nose powers!
+ sore boobs (luckily, I don't have much)
+ pee mor often
+ slightly bigger appetite

Shelley~ Hugs to you. If it's any consolation, spotting/bleeding around the time your period is supposed to start is pretty common. I had red heavy bleeding with my first pregnancy and he's a healthy, sassy 16 yr. old now. Don't give up hope, and try not to get too stressed about it although I know thats probably easier said than done right now. Sending you lots of sticky baby vibes.

I spotted WAY more with dd than with my m/c (until 13 weeks along...). So... in my case, spotting in the first two months is a bit comforting (though worrisome at the same time :dizzy: ).

thanks for all the well wishes, i'm still sort of waiting around to see what my body does.

this morning, it was light to medium bright red blood, and this afternoon, red spotting. i plan to do another HPT tomorrow. if it turns up neg., then i guess it's a m/c for sure. if it's still postive, then i'll call the midwives again.

anyone know how long it takes pg hormones to clear out of your body (like, could this be a m/c but i'm still getting + due to hormone levels??)

sorry to be such a downer.

I'm sorry Shelley, I have no answers for you. I hope you are well:hug

It's almost 1am and I'm up. I hate not being able to sleep. I've never been a great sleeper, but it's gotten worse since having a kid. I just hate laying in bed worrying-how will I get everything done this week? how do I tell MIL and others, yet again, that we don't need a bunch of cr@p for Chrismas? why can't James leave his covers on? am I hungry? why can't I sleep?....Well here I am. Eating yogurt. Hoping ds doesn't wake up to nurse right when I go back to bed. At this point I am really sick of night time nursing. :irked: I am just a tired grump right now. And my stomach hurts. OK... can't think of anything else to complain about. Hope ya'll are asleep, but I bet some are pulling graveyard shift with me.

pretty sure that i am miscarrying as well. had heavy bleeding overnight. it would be surprising to me if my baby could stick out thru all that. my temp this morning was higher, but i didn't sleep well last nite, so that could be why. i will be taking another HPT today, and we'll see what the answer is from there. at this point, i'm pretty sure it's m/c

i'm going to leave this DDC until i know for sure either way.

I'm in too... 5 weeks yesterday, due july 1 (whatever that means :lol). I am one who is worrying that I don't have *enough* symptoms right now! dh thinks I'm silly-- he sees more symptoms than I do. I don't think I'm eating more, he says I'm eating like a horse; I don't think I'm emotional, he says I'm a basket case! this is the first pregnancy where I haven't gotten the preggo nose. that's the one I'm really concerned about. and the fact that so far I still like garlic. isn't that ridiculous? please tell me I'm ridiculous! :lol I wasn't nauseated with ds, so why should I hope to feel bad, right?

as for gender, I could absolutely not care less-- I just want it to stick and be healthy. we're in totally opposite seasons from ds1 so reusing clothes will be pretty hopeless for a while regardless! I have decided that dh is a "boy-maker" so we'll see if we get a surprise :girlbaby:

Question- what are you ladies doing about bras? Mine do not fit at all anymore, and they're leaving some dark red marks.

I'm wearing a stretch tank with a shelf-bra right now, but what now? Are there Maturnity bras? Do I just wear tanks? I feel like I'm fully loaded, and I'm only a few weeks along!

They do make maternity bras, although with my first pregnancy I found a few in larger sizes worked fine too. I saved the money for nursing bras.

I just wear tanks... but I haven't worn a "real" bra since dd was born and I had thrush for 5 months. I'm really small... so I can get away with wearing a regular tank (without the shelf) too :shrug I would look into maternity bras if I was any larger :thumb

love and peace. :love

Ugh... this has had me very upset myself.
I went Friday shopping just to find a bra. At our mall the only place that has bras for bigger sizes (nursing and regular ones) is the Motherhood Maternity shop. I need a 34F (you sure can't tell by looking at me cause I wear it well on my 5'10" frame!). The F's that they had all started at 40. I could put it around me to my opposite armpits! That was not going to work. I ended up getting a 36E, but even on the last clasps, the cups feel like they are cutting into me.
I've looked everywhere online and the only place that I can find (so far) is JCPenneys. I don't want to buy a nursing bra yet- who in the hell knows how big I will be when my milk comes in!
If you guys find somewhere that has big sizes, that do not look like our grandmothers would wear them, please let me know!!

Have you tried Motherwear? I have purchased their bras and a few nursing tops in the past. I liked their bras (but found that nursing clothes were cumbersome and unnecessary for me....). I just checked their site and they had a few E and F sizes. Maybe you could check and see if they might work for you.
Good Luck

I like bras I've gotten from motherwear too. somewhere I read that nursing bras are recommended for pregnancy too, because the adjustable cups can accomodate your growth. that's what I ended up wearing with ds. now I just layer my shirts :) even though I'm a 34D, pushing DD, I just hate the damn things! :wink you can also try blue canoe and decent exposures. I haven't used blue canoe but have heard good things about them (and they're organic!). you might not like the look of decent exposures-- they aren't exactly pretty, more like a soft sports bra-- but I loved them for wearing and nursing. I wore mine out!

good luck!

I haven't been wearing a bra. Hurts too much. I have smallish breasts though so I don't desperately need one. (YET) ;)

Just wanted to say hi to all of you! :wave (just confirmed pg tonight!!) No concerns about bras yet... I only just stopped wearing a nursing bra a few months ago, and right now they are shrunken in size :lol as DS has been weaning, so they are not uncomfortable yet!

Welcome tatermom!

I haven't had to worry about different bras either. My chest hasn't changed at all. I'm not even sore. Weird huh?

I'm pretty small so don't have too much trouble in the bra dept, but my sister in law (38F or someting) found some relief by using bra extenders- an extra few inches of hooks you hook into the back of the bra to make it wider. The ones she had came from Motherhood, but my preggers friend told me she found them at Michael's Craft store in the sewing supplies section.
